I just started using Photoshop CS3. I've found that when using it occasionally other application windows will stop refreshing properly, and will only sparatically update. Has anyone else encountered this? I'm on Xp Pro with 4GB and dual xeons.

the screen blanks out and does not respond. Until you press esc, or click elsewhere on the screen.
In coreldraw x4 i needed to refresh a screen (Ctrl + w) after every change in artwork.
I am using macros in corel draw.
Using X6 64 bit on Windows Ultimate. Tables appear blank until a manual screen refresh?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhy do the dialog boxes and right click menus disappear underneath AutoCAD 2012? It does not happen every time, only most of the time. I can roll the mouse pointer over were the box or menu is supposed to be and some of the buttons and textboxes will reappear but not all.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMust have been something I installed earlier in the day or late last night because the way InDesign CC nows redraws the screen is painfully slow. It's true that an Upgrade has been applied this morning through the CreativeCloud panel? I'm on Windows 8.1 running 9.2 x64. This Dell XPS8700 machine has never disappointed. 16 gig of RAM, fast Nvidia video card, 7200 RPM hard drive. It's just zippy! But now, I don't know what could be wrong? I don't have other processes running in the background. I checked to make sure I have the latest drivers for my video card. I tried trashing the Prefs file. The only thing I have not tried is to restart the system?
Other than that, I suppose it's always possible to uninstall and re-install InDesign CC?
How do I get the screen to refresh properly when drawing a line larger than the art board when the screen scrolls? Everything turns white in CS6, CS5 and CS4.

Installed CS4, all went well.
When I try and use CS4 the screen does seem to update.
For example. Have an image open..... Grad tool.....
Now the grad doesnt show, until i click on say enlarge or another tool.
Same for everything I do, I have to click on a tool or enlarge to get the screen to update.
will not refresh the image until I move it or go to another viewer and back. The layers panel refreshes for example but when you turn off layer visability on a given layer or make a change to a layer that change doesn't show in the image pane - until you move the pane or leave the pane and then reselect it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with my Photoshop CS5, for some reason if I make any changes to my PSD they don't display straight away as normal, I have been having to zoom in/out of the PSD to force the changes to appear, whether its adding/editing text or images, just anything won't show straight away like it used to. I haven't added any plugins that I know of, it's pretty stock standard version 12.0.4 x64 and I assumed it maybe graphic card related so just updated to the latest drivers with no luck so i'm lost..

and close the dialog, a single blank line appears in the middle of the menu
line (from File to X). If I minimize/restore PS window, the menu line

I'm here with 2013 SP2 64 bit Build 200 and two screens. Left screen is graphics area, Browser is on the left of right screen. Graphics is ATI Fire Pro V7800 with driver 9.3.3.3000.
In video (zipped MP4) you see a cutout of both screens, think of screens changing at the left of the browser.
Now, in many cases, after doing an operation, the browser is jumping back to the middle of my graphics in the left screen.
There appears to be a bug in CS6 - does this work in any version of Photoshop?
Problem - data sets are not refreshed when contents of the data file are changed, despite clicking "Apply Data Set".
The latest updates are installed, running on Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit, plenty of RAM and available storage. This has never worked before and appears to be a bug in the software. I’ve gone so far as to close PS and even rebooted between steps 4 and 5, same problem. Here's how to recreate it:
1. Create a psd, define variables (I've tried both text and graphic layers)
2. Assign csv file as "Data Set", save the psd
3. Run export, close psd
4. Chage data in csv that was defined as Data Set, save and close csv file
5. Re-open same psd
6. Click "Apply Data Set" - nothing happens
Data is NOT refreshed regardless of whether Data Set 1 or “All data sets” is selected. The only thing that seems to work is to open the PSD and redefine the exact same file as the data set again, then batch export. Because I'd be dealing with volumes of psd files that use volumes of Data Set files that change daily, this isn't feasible.
Defining (or redefining the same file) cannot be recorded in batch mode, nor through the listener (tried previous version just to see).

View 2 Replies View Related I'm experiencing strange layer comps behaviors since Photoshop 13.0.2 update, on an existing .psd file. If some comps are correctly rendered, some others are not refreshed: layers visibility is not updated, workspace seems to be frozen, using for instance the magnifier tool to zoom in/out renders a completely white workspace, and moving then my mouse pointer above it only refreshes its lower half part (a little bit more actually). Moreover, Photoshop CPU consumption becomes quite high as long as I stay on such composition (around 50% CPU instead of 2% compared to working comps).
I've tried to disable GPU from Photoshop preferences, Machine is a mid-2010 17" MBP w/ i7@2.66. No problem with the same .psd file before upgrading to 13.0.2..
I made some basic adjustments in Lightroom and then opened the image as a smart object in Photoshop. If I decide to make more changes in Lightroom how do I tell Photoshop to 'refresh' the underlying image?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm running Elements 11 on Windows 7. My photo album was initially in Picasa but we imported all the photos (e.g. 13,000+) into Lightroom 4 and Elements 11.
Lightroom correctly imported all the files (including all images in the .picassa orignals sub-folder), while Elements only imported a subset of the files.
Elements didn't import any images in the .picassa original folder, and also omitted many folders as well as the contents of some folders.
Is there a file watcher 'refresh' that will reimport all the images? I suppose I could delete the 'watched' folder from the file watcher and then re-initiate the add.However, since I don't know why files and folder were missed in the first place, I'd like to understand my options.
i have lets say 10 .psd's that contain smart objects. I want to ask you, is it there any script for Photshop CS6, that can open all .psd files and refresh all smart objects? (simillar to the Image Processor Script that exports .jpgs)
View 4 Replies View RelatedWorking in the CC3D features, I am constantly making changes to my bump map. Every time I step-backwards, or make a significant change to the bump texture (smart object?), CC auto-saves the layer. This specific file is a very very large document (3 gigs in the bump texture layer alone), and the 3D layer has lots of lights and is very complex.
This auto-refresh/update really bogs down the time that it would take me to make my changes. I have a very fast machine (I know it's fast, I dont need to list my specs), and I have all shadows disabled.
How do I disable linked smart-object auto-update/refresh?
Just started with CDRX6 (Upgrade) and find a frustrating feature with text in text frames. If you import text into a frame and then move the position of the frame in the layout, the text repositions in a waterfall motion within the frame. It takes a second or two to settle down, and the frame also jumps position somewhere else en route before reaching the point you are dragging it to. It can be moved more smoothly using the arrow keys, but that is painfully slow.
I do not have this problem with X5. Is it a symptom of some new feature in X6, or is it a fault in installation?
I use external/linked images because the file is multipaged and as I am working continuously on it every "Save" command takes less time.
Every image is there on HDD in the same folder as CDR-file. Today I opened this file and the images look very bad - one couldn't see what is pictured there. The question is how to refresh them? I don't see such an option.

My code mirrors a selection by either the x-axis or the y-axis. It is working fine. Except, the drawing shows the result, when I move my cursor to the active dwg.

When I start AutoCad and also if I try to select the Refresh icon on the Pallett, I get a pop up that says "There was an error while refreshing. The palette could not be refreshed" Could there be a path that is broken, if so where would it be?

I am trying to make a simple app using .NET classes.
I made a simple Windows.Form in which are check boxes (on for each layer of the CAD drawing).
Just to set the visibility of each layer. Everything is working fine, but I have a little problem with refreshing a drawing.
Changes of visibility settings are applied after a form is closed.
I need the drawing to be refreshed after every check box check change.

The value is changed, because if I open the iProperty dialog, there is new value and also when iProperty dialog is close then the sheet (title block with this property) is immediately correctly updated. I know that I can use ActiveSheet.Update method, but this update whole sheet and it take long time. I haven't done this in several years, and my notes are apparently incomplete. Enclosed is an image of the type of ordinate dimensioning that I want, and also my faulty notes. Maybe someone here can add the missing pieces. When I follow my notes, for some reason the UCS is displayed, whereas in the past it wasn't. I am using Version 2000 if it matters.

How do I get the refresh to work when I draw boxes?
My art work disappears when I draw a box and the stage moves.
Anyway, I just updated to the Factory Design Suite Advanced package for 2011 which, of course, includes Inventor. I have downloaded and installed all updates, service packs and hotfixes I could find btw. What happens is I'll be working in Inventor on a solid model of ANY size (even a single part) and with absolutely no warning, the display window will freeze up and won't refresh. What's really weird though is that Inventor itself is not locked up. I can click on any of the buttons or any of the items shown in the browser as though the program's running normally. I can check the task manager and it shows Inventor to be running normally. The memory status bar in Inventor shows lots of available memory. I can even hover over the display window in the area where the view steering wheel is located and the icon will change appearance as though it's working normally. I can even save the file. If I close the file, it responds like normal and goes back to the default screen. If I try to open ANY file after that, however, the screen will not refresh or show me the file I opened, even though everything else works fine and the program isn't frozen. The only way to restore full function is to completely close and reopen Inventor (on average I have to do this about once an hour). Btw, I'm also working in a local directory stored on my hard drive, not a network.
My first inkling is that it's a graphics issue but I have played with all the display settings to no avail. I ran a diagnostic on the video card and Inventor says that I'm running an Autodesk Certified driver. All the specs are within reason I think.
