This has been cropped and scaled, and when I insert it into a word document MSWord 2010 (Windows 7 Ult.) it is very blurry?? What do I need to do to create the bullets so they are .13 in word and not all distorted?
New Responsive Scaling feature is great.
It's enabled me to add an Edge Animate file to my responsive Wordpress site using the Edge Suite Plugin.
Only problem for me is that although the 3.7MB file I’ve created scales perfectly on all devices it struggles to play on smartphones. (I assume it's too big and too power hungry to play smoothly on smartphones - even since I've added a pre-loader.)
So, in an ideal world, what I need is a separate low res Edge Animate file that only plays on smartphones.
Failing that, I’d be happy with a 'Down-level Stage' image which could replace the Edge Animate animation.

Unfortunately this clever solution only works when the new Responsive Scaling feature is NOT selected. As soon as it is selected, the animation no longer changes from one layout size to another when the browser window is reduced.
I don’t mind whether the fix is in Edge Animate, Wordpress or the Edge Suite Plugin - I just want a solution!
We are designing some web graphics for a friend. By "we" I mean me and a guy who lives on the opposite coast.
He did the initial page layout/design as a PhotoShop tif, at 300 dpi, in layers and about 5 inches wide. The idea, on his end, was that it would be a small file size and, therefore, faster to download on my end. With me so far?
Anyway, I'm suppose to convert it to 800 ppi wide, 72 dpi, jpg. Sounds easy enough. Or not Do all the scaling and now the graphics don't look right. None of the layer effects are right!
How do I scale his graphic, for my purposes and, once it's the size I need it, have everything look the way he created it?
Example: Text at that 5 inch wide, 300 dpi size with a one point stroke on it looked find when the graphic was 5 inch wide and 300 dpi, but at 800 ppi wide and 72 dpi, it's all wrong
Is there a preference or something I should be clicking somewhere and I'm just missing it?
i use InDesign to design and Photoshop to convert to JPEG or TIFF....and i using these step when print/convert :
1. Print at InDesign using .ps or PostScript format.
2. convert it to PDF using Distiller with High/Press Quality Setting.
3. open PDF in Photoshop and save it to JPG or TIFF.
my text that i designed in InDesign always getting Cropped at Top or Bottom.This is the example at top of text "Th. 2013" is cropped... and sometime it getting worse.when i see the PDF file, it goes fine, no cropped text.
I have a photo, 2000x1500 @ 300 dpi. I cropped the photo.
When I cropped the photo, the canvas dimensions were 9.367inx7.68in.
I then loaded a blank background image and set the canvas size to the same dimensions.
I then copied my Cropped image and dropped onto my new background (canvas dimensions the same).
Now when I view the photo (nero or image viewer), I get white space above and below the photo. Yet when in Adobe, not white space.
CS5 when I try to crop a jpg or psd file the image on my work area and the thumbs in layers go blank. When I hit "step backward" they reappear.

Make sure the option "Delete Cropped Pixels" in NOT checked.Grab the crop corner in the lower right of your image and move it diagonally inward somewhat. Confirm the crop.
Get the blur tool, make your brush size fairly large and brush the lower right of your image. Allow your brush to go beyond the border of your image.
Okay, when your image is noticeably blurred, switch to the move tool, grab your image and move it up and to the left exposing some of the area you cropped out.Ta-da! Isn't that pretty? It only happens with the blur tool. Try using the burn or dodge tool and this doesn't happen.

I was shooting video with the 5DIII yesterday and shot a few stills as I was working. I shot in RAW for the stills. When I look at the still image in Photo Mechanic, I see the full image and Photo Mechanic tells me it's 5760x3840 in size.
When I open the image in Photoshop 6 using Camera Raw it shows up cropped 5760x3240 - the 16x9 video crop. But I can't get to the full image - the crop tool in Camera Raw doesn't let me reveal anymore of the image. How to see the whole photo.

I bring in an image as a smart object, crop it (with 'delete cropped pixels' checked) and then attempt to add canvas on all sides. The image reverts to its pre-cropped size with the added canvas on 3 sides.
If I flatten the smart object before adding canvas, it works fine.
Is there any way to get this to work with a smart object?
When I use the crop tool, with "delete cropped pixels" selected, I expect that the image will be cropped destructively and that the cropped out portions will dissapear. But when I select one of the now cropped layers to drag it or free transform it, the cropped pixels are still there.
The entire original picture plane appears in free transform and in dragging the layer, the cropped out portions appear as if the image was never cropped. I recently upgraded from CS4 so this feature is completely new to me. Also, I use Windows8
This is an embarrassing question as i'm sure it's a basic photoshop tool, but I can't figure out how to take crops out of images, and merge them together to form one photo.
I have 4 photos of individual people, and I want to take equal 'slices' of them to merge into one- but still keeping the image the same size as a photo.
I know that my photo sizes are 3543px by 2362 px, and I know how to crop the images to the right size (885.75px by 2362px) but how to combine them.

I was wondering how to cut a round out of a square. I have this coin I am cutting out and find that by only erasing the background and then importing into my editor leaves some residual artifacts.
I would like to cut it out as a 'stand alone' circle without a background whatsoever.How to cut out the dime from the closely cropped background?
Not sure if you can tell there is a background as I did erase the background and save for "use on the web" with alpha BG. The background is evident in PS as a square that is as close to a round as possible. Which the sqare does show up in my video editing as a 'ghost artifact. Hence me wanting to crop that out as a round.
As part of my new year plans I'm busy sorting through shots I took last year on my Canon EOS 550D.
I took many shots in both JPEG and RAW format (same shot in each).
The JPEG images display and can be edited perfectly well in X3 but not the RAW files.
In the Organiser all shots (JPEG and RAW) look fine along the bottom strip.
But when I select a RAW file it displays momentarily in the main view as a slightly fuzzy image and then jumps to an elongated, vivid red & black image. Looking more closely X3 is cropping and NOT displaying three quarters of the right hand side of the shot. I just get a thin strip from the left hand side of the original shot.
A double click in Organiser takes me to the Camera RAW Lab where I get the same thin strip, red & black image.
I have a really annoying problem when trying to use brushes. It existed in CS3 and is still there in CS4.
Whenever I make the brush diameter somewhat large, for instance above 100px, it begins to crop the brush outline so it only shows a small portion of it. If I make it large enough, ~500px, there's nothing left. Even if I have show crosshair enabled, the crosshair is cropped away.
I am running LR 1.4.1
Is there a way to save a cropped picture with a new name in the same album during the developing stage? I like to keep also the original picture.
I open a jpg file in gimp and use the crop tool. I see the cropped part highlighted and the part to be discarded as a surrounding shaded area. I am happy with the cropped part and open a file-save-as dialog through the file menu. I type in the file name and think I am done. But when I open the saved file, it looks the same as the uncropped file that I started with in the first place. What am I failing to do to make the gimp save my change? I guess the answer is that I didn't really make a change but only thought I did. So how do I actually change to the cropped image?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI took photos with a DSLR some with a point and shoot, and a lot with my phone camera. DSLR photos are all good quality and when I export I want all of them to keep their original size, point and shoot photos should be reduced in size by about 20~40% depending on the crop I made and zoom when I shot. Phone pics need to be reduced by around 50% or more. One pixel size on export doesn't cut it since all photos are cropped and have various sizes but only some need reduced sizes due to phone camera taking bigger pictures than the quality keeps up with.I need some sort of 'export size for full sized jpeg' or something. (Without exporting each picture individually that is)
View 6 Replies View RelatedLR5 bug. I've found that when I sync a batch of photos more than once, unless I untick the sync crops option, 1px is cropped off the width of all synced photos. The master photo stays at its original size.
My images cannot be anything other than the exact original size. This is a tech issue not a personal one.
Clearly there's a workaround for this, but then you have to remember to untick the crop option. If you don't and you've moved ou of the module and started working elsewhere, it seems that there's no quick undo fix; you just have to go back into each photo and set to the last 'good' history step.
