View 1 RepliesI am working on a MacBook Pro running 10.7.4 using CS6 and ACR 7.1.
I was shooting video with the 5DIII yesterday and shot a few stills as I was working. I shot in RAW for the stills. When I look at the still image in Photo Mechanic, I see the full image and Photo Mechanic tells me it's 5760x3840 in size.
When I open the image in Photoshop 6 using Camera Raw it shows up cropped 5760x3240 - the 16x9 video crop. But I can't get to the full image - the crop tool in Camera Raw doesn't let me reveal anymore of the image. How to see the whole photo.
This is an embarrassing question as i'm sure it's a basic photoshop tool, but I can't figure out how to take crops out of images, and merge them together to form one photo.
I have 4 photos of individual people, and I want to take equal 'slices' of them to merge into one- but still keeping the image the same size as a photo.
I know that my photo sizes are 3543px by 2362 px, and I know how to crop the images to the right size (885.75px by 2362px) but how to combine them.
Should I be using layers? I'm using CS4
How do I save cropped Images?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am relatively new to Photoshop, and am using CS3. I would like to be able to create a collage with a background image, with superposed layers that are each an image cropped to a circle or ellipse. I found an article on how to do this with a heart shape using Photoshop Elements. He...using-Elements), but after a few paragraphs, the controls specified there do not correspond with CS3.
Preferably I would like each circle to be framed with a relatively thin colored border, to set them apart from each other and the background. Outside the border, the circular layers should be transparent.
I understand that I can create a simple circular shape that will show up as a layer and have a corresponding path, and that I can make a selection from the path.
I am fairly new to elements and I am having problems with resizing my images. I have cropped some images and want to upload them to say 'photobox' but I can't seem to get the images into the correct size for printing I.e 6x4, 7x5 etc. I have also noticed that I start with an image that is say 7mb in size yet when it has been edited and uploaded it is 700k and rated as a medium quality image ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen merging groups in Photoshop CS6 (Command-E), the images are now being cropped to the document edge. I need to retain the image data for repositioning/sizing. This was not default behavior in previous versions and I can't find an option to change it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen an image is cropped using the cropping tool to a preset aspect ratio (without specifying a resolution), the resolution of the cropped image is different than the original. I'd like to be able to understand exactly how this new resolution is determined and be able to calculate it myself. The help section of the software just says, "If you use a preset size, the resolution changes to fit the preset." But I'd like to know the details of how the resolution changes.
How the resolution of the cropped image is determined in Photoshop Elements?
I work with lightroom for wedding photo. I use Book Module to prepare lay out of the final book.
When I put images in a book they are sometimes cropped by the specific page lay out.
I don't use the printing service of Lightroom, instead I prefer to send the files to my local printing service and then stick them to an album (wedding stuff).
Is there a way to export cropped images from a book?
how it deals with cropped images. I have the following edited image, cropped to some specific region:
Then, I tell lightroom to edit this image in Photoshop CS4:
However, once it hits photoshop, it has magically gained more image data than I told Lightroom there should be:
Somehow, all the development settings are correct, but the crop has too much data.
I just installed CS6 and tried opening CS5 psd files but they appear blank even though I can see the images in the layer thumb nails. Is there something that could be hiding the layers?I meet thewindows system requirements but my memory usage is almost at 4GB just having photoshop open.

I can fill in the squares by clicking in the area using the "Move" tool, I would of course to just have my images open the way they should.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMost the the Creative Suite misbehaves with respect to the Windows 7 taskbar. One behavior that's particularly unproductive is seeing a bunch of gray icons for open application windows, and having the associated full size peek image grayed out too. I frequently work with many open image windows that I prefer to keep undocked. If they're minimized, more often than not there's a gray taskbar preview.
Once I click on the thumbnail and activate a window, the thumbnail taskbar image updates. But when I switch between applications, the updated thumbnails will usually go blank next time I peek at the PS6 taskbar.
how do i open or drag multiple images onto the same window or blank background in elements 11? was easy in 2.0 as all images were available on same page. where is this option in 11?

Locating the images through the '?' icon achieves nothing.

I'm using Lightroom 4..i've been importing my RAW images from my external harddrive. Some show up in the catalog as ruined with a blank white section and color bands. I've checked the actual image on the external hard drive and it is fine. I've deleted the ruined files from the LR catalog, then re-imported those problem ones... still come in as white with banding. I've even tried deleting them from the catalog, then from the hard drive... then back onto the HD from the camera, then back into lightroom. Some look ok until I look at then in loupe view and the same problem happens. Mean while the images on the HD and on the camera's CF card are fine.

I have a photo, 2000x1500 @ 300 dpi. I cropped the photo.
When I cropped the photo, the canvas dimensions were 9.367inx7.68in.
I then loaded a blank background image and set the canvas size to the same dimensions.
I then copied my Cropped image and dropped onto my new background (canvas dimensions the same).
Now when I view the photo (nero or image viewer), I get white space above and below the photo. Yet when in Adobe, not white space.
why is my raw image cropped when I reopen it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedOpen an image with some detail in the lower right area. Create a duplicate layer. Choose the crop tool. Make sure the option "Delete Cropped Pixels" in NOT checked.Grab the crop corner in the lower right of your image and move it diagonally inward somewhat. Confirm the crop.
Get the blur tool, make your brush size fairly large and brush the lower right of your image. Allow your brush to go beyond the border of your image.
Okay, when your image is noticeably blurred, switch to the move tool, grab your image and move it up and to the left exposing some of the area you cropped out.Ta-da! Isn't that pretty? It only happens with the blur tool. Try using the burn or dodge tool and this doesn't happen.
How?

I bring in an image as a smart object, crop it (with 'delete cropped pixels' checked) and then attempt to add canvas on all sides. The image reverts to its pre-cropped size with the added canvas on 3 sides.
If I flatten the smart object before adding canvas, it works fine.
Is there any way to get this to work with a smart object?
