For some reason when I recently opened P&GD6 and opened the Fill gallery to choose a fill for an image, the majority of the fill folders would not open. Previously I could expand any of the folders to view the contents. Also, the top six folders in the Fill gallery list have (Web) after the folder name. I don't recall seeing this before either. The same folders also appear in the bottom of the list without the web designation.
How to get ALL of my fills back, or how they could have been made inaccessible? I've attached a screenshot view of the folder list that appears when I click the Fill icon. Yellow highlights at the top of the list indicate the folders with the word web after them. These are the only one that I can successfully open.
I can't I never tried out the bitmap fill tool until now lol. I was wondering if there are sites that you can get fills and add them into to Xara, I have tried a few texture files, but for what ever reason Xara does not find them when I load the directory (disk fills...)
I've just been to the web site and downloaded a bunch of brushes and fills that are wonderful. I used the suggested for unzipping the files and then going to the disc fills and loading the files. I only got a few to load and then I got a message that suitable files could not be found. I checked all the folders that I created and everything is in there but I keep getting that same message. The brushes are another story all together. I went to the folder and dragged and dropped the files directly into the line gallery as a new brush but I can't remember how I save each brush so that every time I exit the program I lose all those beautiful brushes.
How do I add those CD fills to the gallery? I noticed they are all stored in a cab file with their file extensions a bit changed, so I guess I could mass rename them and add manually, but I was wondering if there is any clean way of doing it? I don't want to reinstall, because I want to keep my toolbars and other settings...
...which brings me to my second question... how do I save the layout I created? I know new version is about to be released, and I would like to be able to back the layout up somehow and import, so I don't have to go through it all manually again. Anything I can do about it? I already tried backing up the entire xara registry, but didn't work...
Well, I bought Xara Designer Pro 7 the other day, and I'm trying to get used to it. One thing it's doing that really bugs me is that when I draw a circle or an oval in freehand, the circle fills in with solid color!
I worked through a tutorial to put some of my own images in a folder to use as fills and clipart, going through the index process etc worked fine. I couldn't see any way to save them so I hoped it would be an automatic save for such things. Unfortunately they have now disappeared. Is there a way to save my own folders so that I can use them in any document?I normally work in 8" x 8" square pages, but each time I need to go back to Options and select Units: Inches and page size: Custom and type in the size. Is there a way to save Options?
I downloaded some fills and brushes from Xara Xone, but even after reading the instructions given, I am unable to add them to Xtreme Pro 4. I unzipped and extracted the files to a folder on my flash drive. When I went to add them to Xara I could access the folder where they reside, but the files didn't come up.
I am attempting to edit a scanned abstract drawing where many of the colors are similar, resulting in them printing as all the same shade of red. I am attempting to change some of the reds to have a greater degree of shading. I am aware that I can probably do this using masks and RGB tweaking; but it occurred to me that I can also use a drawn shape and color fill with transparency to change the shade. This worked very well; but it caused one problem I don't know how to solve.
The image I am editing is intended to be uploaded to a website named Zazzle that takes your artwork and puts it on their products. This includes anything from notecards to canvases, to clothing, to shoes, etc., etc. Customers browse the site to find products and images they like. I also have a free webpage on the site where I can promote the sale of these items with my artwork on them.
The image must be a high resolution preferably png file which can be resized greatly for the canvases or left as is for notecards and the like.
While experimenting with the size of my image, I discovered that the edits I performed stay the same size while the rest of the image increases. Is it possible to make the edited shapes part of the scanned image so they will increase and decrease with the rest of the image?
I recently purchased Designer Pro 7 after a trial period. During the trial, I had the default brush gallery, and had also downloaded some additional brushes. After downloading the content pack earlier this week, my brush gallery disappeared. The only brush that is available is the "normal line". All of my "galleries" are checked in the Utilities menu. How to get the brush gallery back?
the new Xara Pro X9, but did happen to notice... Is there any way to get the old style drawing back like Xara Xtreme 2? In Xara Pro X9, it seems you have to drag a line to make one, where in the older versions it was click a point move click another point and it draws a line between them, it was much easier to draw lines and bend them on the fly with the older version, or am I missing a step with the new software.
I just added a fill/texture to an image and now when I create more objects, the fill is still there. How can I re-set the fill gallery back to no-fill?
I sometimes like to add a little more depth into my drawings than having single paths be of a single fill. In the illustration below, for example, I have two balls drawn.
The first was made the way I was taught. A stroke and fill - all consisting of one path. The second, I tried something different to show more depth, but it consists of three paths. A black stroke with no fill, a dark red fill with no stroke, and a background red fill with no stroke. The first way was easier since I could add a stroke and fill to the same path, but I can't capture more details that way if extra colors touch the stroke. And if I were add paths on top of an object, then I would have to be too percise so they don't overlap the stroke. This second way, I at least have a stroke to draw behind.
Is this making sense to people? I want check here to see if there's an easier way to do this. Making an object that only consists of an outline and not a fills doesn't seem right if it is meant to include a fill.
I am working on a project where I am doing hand drawn rotoscope (think waking life). For larger areas I am drawing the outline and then filling the shape with the paint bucket. The problem is that the fill doesn't go all the way to the edge of the outline. The anti-aliasing on the brush seems to be creating it, but I don't want to turn anti-aliasing off. It will be a huge time saver for me to figure this out.
If I draw a shape (or select an already existing shape) and choose "Bitmap Fill" or "Full Color Pattern" CDX6 freezes and then after several seconds throws the "CorelDRAW X6 has stopped working" error at me with the only options to "Check online for a solution..." or "Close the program"
Prior to the 16.2 update CDX6 would freeze in the above circumstances but eventually come out of it and apply the fill (program wouldn't have to be closed).
All other fills work as expected. This is a Win7 32-bit system.

I use Photoshop 7.0, and yesterday I started having an issue with Color Fills.
(You may actually have to Say I have a black-and white lineart on the background layer, such as this.
I double-click on the background layer to make it edit-able. I click on the Color Fill button, choose solid color, then pick any color (say we use bright red). I go back to the lineart, move the Color Fill layer to underneath the lineart layer, and fill the Color Fill with black. Normally, it would just create white, however for me it has pink/light red. The same thing also happens for patterns and gradients; it leaves a very faded version of the color on the picture.
I didn't change any options or settings, however my little brother was playing around with Photoshop, and he may have changed something. Can anyone tell me how to get it so that there is no pink or faded color there?
I'm trying to fill some technical drawings with the simple hatch/dot /chevron pattern fills that seem to be in most simple applications but photoshop only has textures , and i can't find any to download for mac osx .(Free , as this is a one-off job ). Either that or an application that has the fills and a magic wand.
I have an object with mulitple fills, gradients actually. I would like to use shift + eye dropper to select the color of another fill. Is there a way to do that? My eye dropper is checked for appearances.
when using my own brushes in Illustrator (which aren't very complictated, just "pressure-sensitive" as you can see in the example)...Illustrator fills the curves automatically.
Not, when I'm drawing large format, but once in a while I have to draw small vignettes or want to reduce the size. Small means: about a centimeter.
First I thought it might be a problem with the wacom tablet I got, but the support convinced me, that it had to be a problem with the software... I had the same problem already with CS3 and 4, now again with CS6.
Getting an issue whereby gradient fills have changed when you reopen a PSD. It's happening too often to me to be something i'm doing accidentally.
Sometimes i save my file and the gradient fill on a shape is be grey, reopen and it's then white. Fixing it and saving it again seems to then save it properly. I haven't been able to establish a pattern to reproducing it yet. Hence why i'm wondering if others have seen this too?
In Photoshop, I realized that the shape tool is divided into three prefered styles - Shape, Path, and Pixels. In Shape, I have the option to to change the stroke and fill but not alias it. In Pixels, I have the option to alias it but not change both the fill and stroke. If I create a shape as one style, I cannot convert it to another. Is there a way to change both the fill and stroke of an aliased shape?
Lately I reset my Photoshop 5 preferences because some functions were completely mixed up.Now I have the problem that whenever I fill in a path made with the pentool, the content gets really pixelish around the edges.This is not the case though when I stroke a line made with the path.
I am working in CorelDraw, drawing shapes and combining them with text.
Anyway, the problem I have, is that the colors of the outlines does not look like the fill with the same name! It is awful when you zoom in and see the differences in Color!
I want to work in RGB colors since I export everything to Photoshop.
When i make a new path with the pen tool and go to fill the stroke path it makes brush dot at all the anchor points? How can i fix this to go back to filling in the entire stroke path?
I have a third floor view that continues to show the 2nd floor room fill colors, despite the fact that underlay is off. Floor 3 is visible and present (though) I can't grab it because I don't control that work set. The third floor room fill is not visible unless I make the cut plane 10'. That suggests that the 3rd floor is out of place, I think. But it seems fine in section.
I can't figure out if this is a bug in the view range or a problem in the model.
Note that the upper range is 12'2". The bottom of the range is offset 4' to show a parapet/roof of an adjoining structure. The clip depth is not effecting the visibility of the 2nd floor room fills at all, though it does effect the 3rd objects like the parapet.
I would think the clip depth would get rid of a lower floors room fill, which I assume is associated with the floor object.
i am currently tryeng to write a title for an image.
I would like to have a outline to each letter, so i searched for a bit to find out i should click outline in the effects bar. this fills the entire image exept the text with white,. i wouldn't be too annoyed if i could change the colour or set the amout of outlining, but it is always white and always fills my image no matter what i do.
Is there a way to kill all the blend modes in an illustration and convert them to just plane old fill colors? I'm exporting these things to HTML5 where blend modes aren't supported.
I'm trying to automatically create fill shapes out of a pattern I made with stokes. The pattern (see attached) is comprised of overlapping rows of lines. My goal is to make he inner triangle shapes different colours, but I will need an actual shape there before I can add colour.
I've tried playing with the pathfinder tools, but haven't had any luck.
I am using Coreldraw X5 for printing and sublimation. If I use Pattern or Texture fills for a background, is there any way to make them less intense so the text can more easily be read? I am not sure of the correct terminology, whether it is "fade", "intensity" "transparency" etc. I would just like the fill to be fainter.
