Jun 25, 2007When i make a new path with the pen tool and go to fill the stroke path it makes brush dot at all the anchor points? How can i fix this to go back to filling in the entire stroke path?

- Ctrl + click doesn't work (it seems to have a 50% tolerance - my opacity 7% and 40% pixels don't get selected);
- The magic wand tool with 0% tolerance does work (when I click on a transparent pixel it selects ALL opacity 0% pixels around it and then I just have to inverse selection), BUT my image has a lot of holes with transparent areas and selecting them one by one would be tedious.
Photoshop :: Disable Double-Click Isolation With Path Selection Tool
Jun 24, 2013When working with Paths in photoshop, I have developed a work flow that revolves around adding anchor points to an existing path and repositioning the added anchor point with the Direct Selection Tool.
The Issue I am having is whenever I create an anchor point and attempt to move it too quickly, that it instead enters isolation mode and the point is not moved. The result either having to greatly reduce the speed at which I work or repeat the movement several times until it works.
Is there a way to disable this feature?
Photoshop :: Path Transparent At Ends
Oct 17, 2013Ok, its really hard to describe this in words, so here is a picture!
So this is just a normal path that I hit the stroke button on. The problem is, it goes from lighter to darker at either end of the path. This may look good now, but I don't want it! I want it to be the same opacity/transparency all the way through the path stroke.
I'm sure I just have some weird box checked.
Photoshop :: CS4 Window Stays In Background
May 2, 2009When I drag an image file into Photoshop CS4, the file opens but Photoshop remains in the background – i.e., in the window behind the one that I dragged the file from. For example - I open Photoshop, then open Bridge, with the Bridge window mostly covering Photoshop’s window. Drag a file from Bridge to PS. The file opens in PS, but the PS window is still behind Bridge’s window. I have to either ALT-Tab or click on the PS Window to bring it to the front. On prior editions of PS, it would come to the front automatically when a new file was opened. I still have CS3 on my computer, and verified this. This happens whether the file is dragged from Bridge, Windows Explorer, or Thumbs Plus. It happens in both the 64 and 32 bit versions of CS4. I looked through the preferences and don’t see anything that seems to relate to this behavior. Is this how CS4 is meant to work? Is there any setting I can tweak to change this?

Aug 24, 2013(CS6 on Windows) I made a copy of the background and selected hue/saturation from the adjustments panel. I chose Preset- Custom and the little hand icon I chose 'yellow' to fix the yellows in my image. When I click on "yellows" to choose that slider nothing happens.
I can't get the yellow slider to show up no matter what I do.

Sep 30, 2013I started to notice this a few days ago. I created a rectangular shape and applied the drop shadow layer style. I then removed that style first by turning it off and then by dragging it to the trash icon.
Now I have a shape with a drop shadow but not layer styles. The only solution I have found is to delete the shape and create a new one without the drop shadow applied.

Apr 25, 2013I'm used to a PC, but am having to use a mac once a week for a new job.
When I hit "Cmd -0" to view my image in its entirety, my background screen shrinks with it. Then, when I zoom in again, I have to expand the screen again.
I'd like to have my background to stay locked in the same position where I have placed it, with only my image file expanding or shrinking, as I work.

Nov 20, 2013I recently tried to open Photoshop (for Mac). Normally the register "Adobe Design Suite Standard CS3" pops up asking me to register (with the whole register form) and i just click register later. But now the screen is popping up completely blank.
No form, graphics or buttons. And i am unable to close it. Photoshop and the project i am working on load up but i cannot access it because of the register form window. How can i get rid of this? None of my adobe products are working.
Photoshop :: CS5 Tools Now Expand On Single Click - Not Click+hold
Oct 28, 2013I've had to reinstall CS5 after a new Windows installation. Never had a problem with it before, but now I have the issue where if I click on a tool that has sub-tools, it now expands to show them. Before, to access them, I had to click and hold for them to appear. Now with them expanding on the first click, it's interrupting my work flow.
Additional issues have arisen while I'm here, such as, when doing web work, I'll change the rectangular marquee to single pixel horizontal (e.g.), make the selection, do what I want with it, then press M to adjust another single pixel line, but it'll return to the full rectangular marquee, like it resets.
I'm running a test at the moment with Open GL disabled, to test drivers or display issues, but it's doing the same thing.
My System:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64
AMD Phenom 2 X2 550 3.1GHz
4GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD7800.
Photoshop :: RAW File In Lightroom Stays Up-to-date With What's Being Used As Starting Image
May 1, 2013how the whole connection between everybody with Smart Objects is supposed to work... Is this a Photoshop thing, a Bridge thing, or a Lightroom thing?I have a RAW image in Lightrom... I make adjustments. I open it in Photoshop as a Smart Object. Add layers, fiddle, do normal Photoshop stuff. Then I realize I goofed on the original RAW in Lightroom and had sharpened it BEFORE I went into Photoshop.
So, I open the RAW back up from Photoshop, which of course, opens in Bridge, NOT Lightroom, and fix the sharpening. Then back to Photoshop where I finish fiddling and save the .psd file.EXCEPT, as near as I can tell, I now have a RAW file in Lightroom that doesn't know changes have been made.
And, since I haven't written the metadata to the RAW file on disk, I have a file in Lightroom that doesn't match what's on disk, a .psd file that doesn't match the RAW file that's in Lightroom,and changes made in Bridge that don't seem to be anywhere...
How do I make sure the RAW file in Lightroom stays up-to-date with what's being used as the starting image in Photoshop? And how do I get Lightroom updated with whatever changes got made in Bridge?

Apr 16, 2012Just reinstalled Photoshop CS5 after needing to reinstall Windows 7. Now instead of being to just grab the tool I want, it produces the flyout each time and I have to re-choose what I want to use. This is rather annoying and time consuming, if I am using the same tool.
Can it be coming from Windows or just Photoshop. I did try resetting the preferences and nothing changed.

Jan 18, 2008I use cs2 and when in photoshop when i left click on any of the tools for instance the pen tool it brings up the menu to select pen tool, freeform pen tool, etc.. rather than just selecting it. I am use to having to right click on the the pen tool to get that menu, i was wondering how i would change it back. Same thing happens when i left click on all the tools on the tools menu, just used the pen tool as an example.

Sep 19, 2013Discovered gimp tonight however I seem to be facing the same problem. I am creating a new logo for work, I will go through the details in a moment, but each time I increase the scale size and it visually increases on screen, when it prints it is the same small size. The origins of the image are from Microsoft Office through SmartArt, I created what was needed, took a print of the screen moved into paint to open then cropped and saved it as a jpg. I then dragged it into gimp. I should also mention that within the original SmartArt (it is a circle of 4 globes) there is another jpg of our logo. I just don't understand why it is not printing the larger image on my screen.

Mar 29, 2013I am working on a project where I am doing hand drawn rotoscope (think waking life). For larger areas I am drawing the outline and then filling the shape with the paint bucket. The problem is that the fill doesn't go all the way to the edge of the outline. The anti-aliasing on the brush seems to be creating it, but I don't want to turn anti-aliasing off. It will be a huge time saver for me to figure this out.

Jul 1, 2008I use Photoshop 7.0, and yesterday I started having an issue with Color Fills.
(You may actually have to Say I have a black-and white lineart on the background layer, such as this.
I double-click on the background layer to make it edit-able.
I click on the Color Fill button, choose solid color, then pick any color (say we use bright red). I go back to the lineart, move the Color Fill layer to underneath the lineart layer, and fill the Color Fill with black. Normally, it would just create white, however for me it has pink/light red. The same thing also happens for patterns and gradients; it leaves a very faded version of the color on the picture.
I didn't change any options or settings, however my little brother was playing around with Photoshop, and he may have changed something. Can anyone tell me how to get it so that there is no pink or faded color there?

When I go into another idw and import it I get it coming in as "XXX AAA" - even though I'm importing "XXX BBB".

Feb 15, 2013I have two menus that I use often and I would like to add them to my mouse buttons. Attached is a picture of the two menus I like and the two buttons. The Shift + Click has the correct menu already (Osnap menu2) my problem is adding my custom menu to the CTRL + Click doesn't work. I labeled Osnap Menu 1 and 2, 1 being the custom menu I have use in the past and 2 being the default osnap menu that comes with the cui file. How to get the second button to read my menu rather than both read the same osnap 2 menu?
