View 3 RepliesIf I copy object and text at the same time, it will only paste the text and the object is disappear, but it's no problem if I copy them separately. Besides, If I copy multiple text objects, they will be combined to 1 text object and the font will be changed when I paste.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUnder the edit tab I can click on the link option and change the colors together at the same time, though this does not work when on the Assign tab.
1. Is there a way to get it to change the colors of different shapes at the same time in the Assign tab?
2. The blue circle in the color wheel is clearly changing the hue of the blue, though with the other two arms, the circle with the black ring around it, when I drag it to darker hues it changes both the star and the polygon while the other circle only changes hues sometimes if I drag it somewhere completely different. How does this process work?.
I have a large group of objects, all one color. I need to make a subtle change to the color. Is there a easy way to change all the colors in a group of object to another specific color? Some objects only have an outline, and some only have a fill without having to go through each object one by one in the object manager?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to change "capture time" of multiple photos to a specific time.
I know that there is "Edit Capture Time" feature under Metadata. But when I try to edit multiple photos, it says that "Modify the capture time stored in the selected photos by entering the correct time adjustment for the photo displayed to the left. Other photos (but not vidieos) will be adjusted by the same amount of time". And it really does.
For example,
If A file's capture time is 1/11/2011
B file's capture time is 1/11/2012
C file's capture time is 1/11/2013
I would like to change their capture time to 1/11/2014. All the three files.
But the current "Edit Capture Time" feature of Lightroom just adds three years to each file like this:
A file's capture time -> 1/11/2014
B file -> 1/11/2015
C file -> 1/11/2016
So their capture times remain as different ones. And this is not I want...
I've googled a lot and tried several programs other than lightroom as well, but the "Capture time" recognized by lightroom could not be changed by other programs.
I sometimes like to add a little more depth into my drawings than having single paths be of a single fill. In the illustration below, for example, I have two balls drawn.
The first was made the way I was taught. A stroke and fill - all consisting of one path. The second, I tried something different to show more depth, but it consists of three paths. A black stroke with no fill, a dark red fill with no stroke, and a background red fill with no stroke. The first way was easier since I could add a stroke and fill to the same path, but I can't capture more details that way if extra colors touch the stroke. And if I were add paths on top of an object, then I would have to be too percise so they don't overlap the stroke. This second way, I at least have a stroke to draw behind.
Is this making sense to people? I want check here to see if there's an easier way to do this. Making an object that only consists of an outline and not a fills doesn't seem right if it is meant to include a fill.
I have an object with mulitple fills, gradients actually. I would like to use shift + eye dropper to select the color of another fill. Is there a way to do that? My eye dropper is checked for appearances.
View 11 Replies View Relatedwhen using my own brushes in Illustrator (which aren't very complictated, just "pressure-sensitive" as you can see in the example)...Illustrator fills the curves automatically.
Not, when I'm drawing large format, but once in a while I have to draw small vignettes or want to reduce the size. Small means: about a centimeter.
First I thought it might be a problem with the wacom tablet I got, but the support convinced me, that it had to be a problem with the software... I had the same problem already with CS3 and 4, now again with CS6.
Is there a way to kill all the blend modes in an illustration and convert them to just plane old fill colors? I'm exporting these things to HTML5 where blend modes aren't supported.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to automatically create fill shapes out of a pattern I made with stokes. The pattern (see attached) is comprised of overlapping rows of lines. My goal is to make he inner triangle shapes different colours, but I will need an actual shape there before I can add colour.
I've tried playing with the pathfinder tools, but haven't had any luck.
This is probably a basic question, but in the control panel area, where it shows the measurements of an object created, the default measurement is in inches. Can I change that to display milmeters? I am aware that it can be changed in the rulers, but up where it says X, Y, then width and height, it shows inches. I want to view it in milimeters, because I am doing a project in milimeters. How do I do that?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI bought an image from shutterstocks... But when I change a colour, it all turns in monochrome colour. My Ai (CS6) knowledge is very limited, so I do not know what to Google "How to..."
I would say that in a moment I change colour Ai understands that I colour in borders and all lines overlaps each other... However, I do not colour borders...
Image is very complex pattern and I believe it is somehow related with image production... The image does not appear as it looks like - everything is over layered with cut-outs of object above... But it is beyond my knowledge...
I have tried to ungroup but with same results... How to manipulate this image?
I thought that when you had the magic wand selected and you clicked on a fill, it selected all items that were that color, right? I thought I've been doing that for several years now. However, now, clicking the fill does nothing. Clicking the stroke selects things, but clicking the fill doesn't.
Either something got changed in my settings with the latest update, or something is broken in the update.
Using a Mac, running CC, latest update as of this posting.
I would like to divide the green leaves on the image below over the green object on the right so that the leaves create the shape of the lines. They have to fill the space of the green object at a similar shape as it is now.
I tried blend but since the leaves are grouped objects with gradient fills, but then this is the result.I need to divide the leaves along the green shape so they follow the shape.
When I select my shape (created with the pentool), I choose no color as the fill and it makes it black.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi had imported a few hundred Illustrator paths to After Effects, then used "Create shapes from vector layer" to make them editable Shape layer paths to then run scripts that equalize the number of vertices on each path.
After this i thought via online tutorial that Edit > Edit Original.. would replace or update the originating paths to same number of vertices back in Illustrator, but this was proven wrong.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to simulate the following hand-drawn picture with Illustrator brushes and fills?
The situation would be... somebody would create a new vector drawing (i.e. made from a photo reference) with outlines and fills. With some easy steps he should be able to turn it into a vector drawing that resembles this style. It should be easy to do... maybe 2 or 3 steps. It could also work with add-ons or plug-ins or something (should work with CS4 upwards).
In Photoshop, you can transform a layer by pressing ctrl while you click in the border of the object. I would like to do it on Illustrator CS6, is there anything like this tool available?

I have purchased some clipart where the artist used Adobe Illustrator and it contained extensive Mesh Fills. The artist sent me the same artwork in pdf & eps but I am unable to open any of them with X5. Apparently it is a function of the mesh fills?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAlmost every time I add a linear gradient to an object I want to change the angle from 0 to 90 degrees.
Is there a script that I could use for this, so that I could assign a keyboard shortcut and press that instead of clicking the box & typing 90 all the time? (i.e. select an object, run a script & it would apply the standard black to white linear gradient at 90 degrees instead of 0.)
A friend came by my desk today and asked me why his AutoCAD would not unselect multiple items when he fences around them. I thought it might be his PICKFIRST setting but that is set to one. What variable controls this setting. His setup only unselects one object at a time whereas my setup will allow me to fence around several select items and using the SHIFT key, unselect all of the objects I fence around.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow do I see the object selected change colour dynamically as I adjust the colour sliders?
It seems the object only changes colour when I release the slider. But I want to see it dynamically change, so I can find the colour that works best without "hit or miss" - "trial and error" behaviour.
Yes... I'm aware some of you spend hours in colour programs creating a palette to work with. Good for you.
I'm just wanting to do it LIVE. Dynamically. In 2013. In Illustrator.
In the expression editor, is it possible to get the position of an object at a different time ?
For example, we are at time 100, and I would like to get a given object's position when we were at time 50. Is it possible?
I would really like to know if there is any way I can manage to to transform both a layer object and a path at the same time....or if there is any workaround to achieve this.
In a nutshell, say for example I spend a VERY long time creating an intricate path around a very detailed object, and then at the very end notice just how crooked and out of perspective it is, and would like to straighten it.
Of course I could transform and correct the object, and then carefully transform the path - but it just won't be exact, and I will have to spend a long time adjusting the path and making SURE it is perfect.
Isn't there any way I could get to transform them together?
Usually of course I do all the correction to straighten and correct perspective beforehand, but in some instances after I am done creating the path I then notice that the image could have used further adjustments.
I like to think of myself as pretty competent in AutoCAD but I can't figure this one out for the life of me...
I hope I can explain this clearly: When I rotate an object using grips, the object is not shown spinning in real time. I select the object, pick the object's grip, hit <Enter> <Enter> to go into the rotate command and the object will rotate maybe 45^ or so and freeze (visually).
If I use the command line "Rotate" command, the selected object(s) spin in real time or if I use grips to rotate but then use an object snap, it begins to spin in real time for some reason.
I would like to use grips to rotate my objects and be able to see them rotate (like I used to in previous releases).
I have ACAD Civil 3D 2010.
