I am on X4 and go back years with the program. I thought there was a feature to select only a part of the screen and be able to zoom on that on playback in the project. was this in an earlier version? I cannot find this feature in X4. I know I can do this for an image but want to do it for close ups in videos.
View 4 RepliesI'm using photoshop CC on amacbook pro retina. I mainly use photoshop for web design and when I open a document that is 300x200 px, the 100% view is too small on screen. It was this way on PS cs6 also before I upgraded. I just tried to delete the prefs file and restarted PS and it did not change. I have also tried to change my screen resolution to "best for retina" and it is still the same.
View 61 Replies View RelatedNow that the application bar has been dropped from CS6, the zoom level feedback is also gone in full screen mode. It would be nice to see zoom level feedback similar to how Pixelmator displays the level with each zoom in or out in the center of the frame.
The UI device is similar to the feedback that the new crop tool displays to show the changing image size.
I got a shape locked on the screen and can't unlock it.It is just a rectangle with 2 rounded corners. It has a strange shadow... I don't recall doing that shape ever, I was switching among Illustrator and Photoshop and in a second it just appeared.I tried many alternatives but still can't get rid off it. It is in every new file I make. It doesn't respond to zoom in/out. If I switch to outline view it stays the same, even with the shadow.I recorded a video.
View 12 Replies View RelatedWhen I zoom to 1:1 with LR5 in the Develop module, I get a sharp image almost instantly, but when I then go to full screen (or go to full screen first and then zoom to 1:1), the image is blurry and stays that way, and the only way I can fix that, strangely, is to use the left or right arrow key to go to a neighboring image, and then return, at which point the blurry image comes into sharp focus in a second or so. My system seems to handle everything else in 64-bit LR5 with ease. Any thoughts re what's happening and how to fix it. A great product overall, and I love the full screen feature in other respects.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been using CS6 for a while now and one problem that I keep encountering is the auto-selection of shape layers. Trying to auto-select a layer that's within 10 pixels of a shape layer is impossible without having to zoom in. This is a little hard to explain without images... Cue image...
If you try to recreate the above image, where the black 20x20px rectangle is a shape and the red 38x38px rounded rectangle is rasterized pixels, you will see that auto-selecting the red rounded rectangle is impossible at 100%.
Is this intentional and just an issue for me? Selecting pixel layers in CS5 was never this annoying. It seems that shape layers have an invisible 10px area around them stopping you from selecting anything below them. This is so frustrating with pixel UI work.
I have long been using the program. I like the filter Video Pan and Zoom, if not a big BUT.
If the clip you select multiple control points pan and some of them coincide with the center, it is impossible to capture the crossing point for the desired position correction frame, since the engine is the player immediately jumps to the first control point. If the pre-shift frame with panels Anchor, then grab the frame with the mouse is already possible, but the trajectory of the frame after this change. The latter leads to the door frame at the edge of the screen in motion.

What i want to do is apply an overlay on a map which has white lines crossed in the middle to pinpoint a location, i want them to move into location, not be static
I managed what i wanted using a JPG image, white lines, black background, and use the chromakey to remove the black, but that left the lines blurry and not as defined
I saved an image as a PNG with white lines on transparent background, which works great for keeping it all looking crisp and clear, but when i click to do a Pan & Zoom on the image under the Edit / Attribute tabs on the image, the Pan & Zoom cannot be chosen and isnt highlighted
Can it be done on a PNG image or just JPG?
As I load photos into the video track, some of them allow me to apply panning and zooming (either auto p&z or customized), and others don't allow it.
For about half my images, the auto p&z is grayed out, and on the Photo Options panel, the P&Z option is gray and the radio button can't be activated.
For both images that work and images that don't work, they are all .tif files of varying sizes. I can't see any logic in why some images allow P&Z and others don't. I'll drag and drop an image onto the video track, and if the P&Z is grayed out, I'll delete it, drag and drop another image, and boom, no problems.
P&Z is active.What's the problem?
Importing Nikon NEFs and 1920x1080p video from new D5100. Target video is 1920x1080p h.264. No matter what I do, I can't get the custom pan and zoom box to be widescreen aspect ratio, it is stuck in 4:3. I KNOW it can be done as I managed to do it once with the trial version, but wasn't sure how. Now I want to do it again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using pro X4 on windows 7. For my current project I am doing a slide show with added titles and audio. I decided to try pan & zoom. So on the menu bar I selected edit and then selected auto pan & zoom. This applied pan & zoom to all the photos (over 100). As I have previewed the results, I find the pan & zoom effects for many of the photos is not appropriate meaning faces are being cut off etc. I know I can go in and customize the settings for pan & zoom and even copy the attributes to all the photos. At this point what I really want to do is turn off pan & Zoom. I select auto pan & zoom from the edit menu with no impact. I select a photo and open the option window. The radio button for pan & zoom indicates that it is active. I can't deselect the radio button. how to turn off pan & zoom. I would like to do it to all the photos in one step like I turned it on.

I am running an ATI HD 5670 video card and recently upgraded from Win 7 64bit to Win 8 64bit. The screen is blacking out on select and crop. I also experienced this after installing CS6 on Windows 7 64bi Pro. The problem was resolved by installing a new driver. I have the latest driver installed.

I imported two solid models( *.stp) in one workplace. (Drafting & annotation/insert/import)
I am trying to subtract one from another, But one is hidden from another. (smaller one is in the bigger one) To subtract smaller one from bigger one, I need to select small hidden one.
1. How to select the hidden part? I cannot see from outside.
If I have tree view(navigation??), I could simply select one on the tree, But I don't know how to make to pop it up. Instead of clicking icons, I tried to use command, but what each model name is. (I tried imported file name, but didn't work)
2. How to check the model name so that I can use in command?
3. When I use command, I put SUBTRACT - enter , (select object- actually I click on the object) then it shows me "select objects:1 found" but when I hit ENTER, it shows me "no solid, surfaces, or regions selected" How can I properly select the object?

I would like to create a certain zoom effect, but I can't get it done. I'm working with graffiti photo's. I want to show a wall with several different pieces on it. After a few seconds, a photo showing just one of those pieces appears in an overlay. It is placed at the same spot where its background-twin is located and its resized to match its appearance. That small overlay now has to grow in size so it eventually fits the entire screen. It is however important that, during this 'zoom effect', the background photo remains visible.
I have tried to work with the Picture-in-Picture effect from NewBlue, which sounded like the solution. I managed to get the entire thing done, except for making the background visible during the effect. The resized overlay picture is surrounded by a black screen that covers the background photo and I can't figure out how to make that black surface transparent. It ís possible to make the entire overlay transparent, but that also affects the black color in the photo, which obviously messes it up.

I use Photoshop Cs3 and know a little about it. I have a photo I scanned in at 600 ppi and I want to select part of it - blow that up to an output of at least 8" wide.
I do not have Illustrator - I use a Mac and am currently working on a project with Mac's program ipages.
The old photos were scanned in at 300 dpi. Many of them were then cleaned up (spots and scratches removed, etc.) using Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10 (which we also did on previous projects). My wife then began creating her project essentially using all of the VideoStudio defaults. She added a custom pan and zoom to every photo so that the slide show has some motion, and the person or object of interest in the photo gets enlarged and emphasized.
Problem 1: as some of the photos move, there is a visible twitch or judder--not sure what word I should use to describe it. It's like the picture jiggles a little as it moves. The problem is not in the burn, the DVD player or television, because you can see it happening when you watch the preview of the project in the software, edit mode. It seems to be random, I cannot discern a pattern to which photos, where on the timeline, which transition, etc., is related to the issue.
Problem 2: my wife created this project for a 4:3 aspect ratio TV, so the crop box that was used for all of the custom pan and zoom was 4:3. I would like to create a new version of the project, with all of the photos re-cropped, re-zoomed and re-panned using a 16:9 box. The problem is, I cannot figure out how to delete or un-do all of the existing 4:3 panning and zooming. I have tried opening the program with the 16:9 box checked, then opening the project file, then deleting photos from the time-line, and re-linking to a new copy of the same photo. When I open the pan and zoom box for the photo, it has a 4:3 aspect ratio crop box! Note that if I start a new project and drop the same photo on the timeline, I do get a 16:9 box for pan & zoom. So it seems that 4:3 is associated with the existing project, and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I really don't want to have to re-create the whole thing from scratch. Is there a simple way to be able to re-do the pan & zoom at 16:9?
I tried selecting all of the photos on the timeline, right-clicking, then choosing auto pan and zoom, to see if that would re-do it using a 16:9 crop box (which could then be customized). No joy, it again used a 4:3 box.
I know that ProX4 does not provide panning and zooming of video, but any way to do this using the overlay tracks?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a high res image of a map and I want to add it to a project and ZOOM in to a particular spot on that image.
I also want the image to stay unzoomed for a short time, then zoom in and then remain zoomed in for a short time.
I have added two 'key frames' (using add key frame) and have applied the zoom between them.
My problem is how to make sure the image doesn't move between the start and the first key frame (and between the second key frame and the end). I know that I can drag the RED CROSS using my mouse but I am finding it almost impossible to end up with the image without at least one black stripe on one edge (ie image not centered).
The result is that the resulting video clip moves slightly on the screen between the start and key frame 1 (and also between the zoomed in image at the second key frame and the end of the clip).
Is there a method like 'snap to grid) to force the image to the same place as the previous key frame?
currently using PS5 and recently updated to PS6. In both versions i have an issue with ACR.More often than not, when processing a raw file, if i apply any noise reduction (ie move the luminance amount slider from 0) the zoom stops functioning preventing me zooming in or out. Some times this is acompanied by the image "stuttering" if i move the image around the screen to look at a different part.
When i open an image in ACR and convert to tiff in PS the first time i use the program all is well, but if i then go back to ACR and open another image i often find that the ACR screen comes up minus the actual image. The window which should contain the image shows PS underneath. Im currently using windows 7. I often get an error message when trying to open a raw file stating "not enough RAM". Is the ram (or lack of) responsible for all of these issues?
I am currently searching the tools that I use in Adobe PS/AI in other products. I have recently downloaded GIMP as a possible substitution for Adobe PS/AI. But I have been searching the default (no plugin) tool box for anything that can do the Magic Wand Tools job. I just have not found it.
Magic Wand - select a pixel/color on the screen. Magic wand will then select all colors that correlate to your selection. I use the magic wand to kill backgrounds out of photos.
