My limited training materials does not tell me how to get the acedsssetfirst selection set, I want to clear it out.I used:
Autodesk.AutoCAD.Internal.Utils.SelectObjects(ids);
to get some objects for zooming, and now I want to un-select them for the user to move on.In vba i could get a selection set by name from a group of selection sets in the drawing. Can I do that in .net?

When Lighroom launches the first screen is a "Select a Catalog" Screen. Can the various entries in this screen be edited or deleted? How? Can the list of catalogs therein be cleared?

However I thought I will learn by experimenting and loaded a JPEG image. The image has a white border. I wanted to remove the border so selected it with magic wand and tried the delete command. Nothing happened! I tried to google around and came across floating layer. Checked this too. Saved the image as GIMP image opened but the border refuses to leave the image. How can I remove this border and make it transparent?

I am having some trouble clearing out the backgrounds of certain images. I'm taking images and want to quickly delete out any pixels not on the product I'm shooting (make all pixels white). Once I have my selection I go to "Edit" and then "Clear". Instead of making the selection white, it makes the entire selection black.

If you look closely in the attached picture, there is a spot of light blue on the player's helmet, that looks like a mistake (think it should look like the grass behind it)...though it actually may be part of his helmet.
Regardless, I'd like to take it out. My idea was to select the blue with the quick selection tool, then bring that selection out to the grass, select the grass with that size/shape of selection, copy/paste and then bring the grass selection into the blue part so it looks like grass in what was the blue part.
The problem is I don't seem to be able to move the selection without taking the blue with it (so it's not an empty selection and therefore can't select a piece of the grass.)

I presently have code that will select objects on screen based on particular stored object handles. The code then prompts the user to add additional selections once these handle selections are made. No problem. The problem lies with attempting to deselect the objects that were selected via object handles. I should say highlighted because that is what the present code is doing. It is highlighting the objects on screen. The code I am using follows:

When I am selecting items to perform a command on using a window (ie stretch) and it covers a large area that I need to pan over or to zoom into an area to ensure that I am not selecting something I shouldn't Autocad is only selecting what is currently showing on the screen. Is there a setting that I can change so that it selects everything I select regardless if it is currently being displayed on the screen?

The “window selection” selects only what appears on the screen! I wanted to select a page number located on the lower left corner of each title block of each drawing but found out that the “window selection” doesn’t keep selecting what doesn’t appear on the screen (if zoom in is applied)! For example, if I select a number of drawings and “zoom in” is applied then the window selection will only keep selecting what appears only on the screen!
Then how to let the “window selection” keep selecting all the objects regarding whether they appear on the screen or not?

I have a problem with selecting a solid hatch in autocad 2014 or 2012. from some reason when I click in random place on top of the hatch it always select it self even if it's not highlighted. It causes a problem when i need to select group of item which are on top of the hatch with the selection box. I did not have this problem in previous version. i also find it very strange that in different drawing in the same autocad version that problem do not exist. is there any variable to be set to solve that issue?

I accidentally downloaded Design instead of regular 3ds max 2012, all I see in the selection box is this 'revit' stuff, can't expand the box, can't see anything to select, how do I expand (and get rid of this 'revit' stuff?)

When I open a file or create e new file in CS5.1, it fills the screen. In CS3, at the bottom of the tool bar, is a tool "screen mode" that lets me open a file that doesn't fill the screen so that I can put two or more small files (images) on a new blank file. I have not been able to do that in CS5. I do not know how to show two (or more) files at one time in CS5.1.

For Max design 2012 x64 (running on Win7 Ultimate with Geforce 9800GT) I get an invisible marquee selection box when trying to select anything in any viewport.
I’ve update Max with Sp2 and Hot fix 2 but they have no effect.
I’ve updated graphics card drivers to the latest available.
I have the View cube switched off.
Is there anything else I can try?

I am running an ATI HD 5670 video card and recently upgraded from Win 7 64bit to Win 8 64bit. The screen is blacking out on select and crop. I also experienced this after installing CS6 on Windows 7 64bi Pro. The problem was resolved by installing a new driver. I have the latest driver installed.

I am on X4 and go back years with the program. I thought there was a feature to select only a part of the screen and be able to zoom on that on playback in the project. was this in an earlier version? I cannot find this feature in X4. I know I can do this for an image but want to do it for close ups in videos.

I'm scanning slides with the intention of showing them in HD. So I need to crop the 3:2 slide format to 16:9. Is there any way to view a selection full-screen other than an Action? At the moment I make the 16:9 selection, crop, jump to full-screen mode, remove the selection rectangle, and CMD-0 to fill the screen.

Say you select all of the patterns on one half of the image.
Is it possible to mirror the selection, so that it selects the corresponding ares on the other half as well? Because it would cut down the workload by a fair bit.

Noramlly in CS5 and any other version of Photoshop or Illustrator that I know of, if you click a point in an object, it will show the handles for transforming the line. As I'm creating something today, it works for a while and then stops. Yesterday I had the same problem. I drew a few things and then suddenly, the Direct Select Tool is not showing any transform handles.
I can get them to show if I can click and drag a box over the point, but this is slow and doesn't work well for layered art. I already tried resetting my illustrator preferences.
Also, in CS5 there's a simple icon that you can click to convert the currently selected point from a curved point to an angled point. Is there not such a thing in CS2?

I am trying to find out if there is a way to select only the objects within a selection marquee? In AutoCAD you can make a selection window from left to right and only those objects entirely within the window are selected. If you window from right to left all objects that are "crossed" or touched by the window are selected. Is there a similar technique in Illustrator?
Currently I have to select the objects, then go back and hold the shift key to deselect the object I don't want, or put objects on different layers then lock layers to prevent extra objects getting selected.
In AutoCAD, my primary program, you simply draw a selection window, left or right, depending on what your next step would be. No special tools or toggles or thinking ahead, it's just the primary selection process and very intuitive.

Any way to select art (on a artboard) and then use toggle the selection of the layers in you want to.... lets say colect in a layer? Collect in Layer is a command in the Layers panel flyout. It seems so tiedious to have to select each layer manualy that you have selected already on the artboard.

I am running GIMP 2.6.10 under Ubuntu Maverick...and latelyhave been having an intermittent problem with the fileselector.
It pops up seemingly locked-up so I can't change directoriesor disks, matter of fact can't do anything but close it.

For the move tool you can choose to disable auto selection, auto select a group, or auto select a layer. By default though the path selection tool autoselects a layer. How can I disable autoselection?
