I'm trying to add an effect on a piece of scenery I filmed and I need the opposite effect of Fish Eye. The camera pans right to left and I need the edges to curve in/up to give that "rounded feeling"
Also, I would like to give it a cinematic look. I can add the bars top and bottom?
I need to cut out some fish for patterns for the kids to make pottery ones - is there a way to make an outline of the fish withont having to take the time to use the eraser tool or to make just the whole fish black without the whole picture being a black box?
I have 2 images, a fish bowl and a man. I am trying to place the man in the bowl so that he looks like he is behind the glass. So far, I have tried masks with at different opacities and blend modes and the two photos in different stacking orders in the layers palette. I am not happy with these results because you can see through the man into the background of the fish bowl.
how to draw a simple fish shape that is consist of an oval with 2 pointed ends (the body), and a triangle (tail)? What kind of tools (eg. line or ellipse tools) should I use? Do I need to set the transformation path?
I am working on a 3D hat model for a soldier character. The hat has a chin strap made of metallic scales. See figure.I started modelling the individual metallic scales in Max. Can't take it further to finish the chin strap modelling.
I have some vague ideas along the following lines:
*Use the two modelled metallic elements and clone them, say, 40 times.
*Use a spline as a basic path for the shape of the chin strap.
*Make the scales path follow the spline.
I am finding it especially hard to take the two modelled scale like elements and turn them into a overlapping metal scales.

I was doing some "sphere-ology" and wanted to overlay a bitmap pattern. I tried to use a Fish Eye lens on a bitmap to give it some shape before applying it, but it does not seem to work. It will cut out the shape, but no distortion is applied.
I found this thread from a couple of years back on X5. There was no resolution.
I have run into this problem several times. CorelDRAW has "envelope" which works for vector illustrations. (how I made the sample) Photo Paint does not have a similar tool. How can I pinch the middle in PP. How to make the image on the left into the image on the right.
my pen tool is doing the opposite of what i want! im trying to cut a baseball player out so i can past on another document but it's doing the opposite and it's deleting the person and leaving the back ground as below pictures are showing. i want the pen tool to cut the object out and delete the backgorund but its not working for me!
I just started working with 3ds Max this week and am having trouble pulling 4 vertices in one direction using Vertex selection along with the Uniform scale selector. When I try to pull them along the x-axis, half the vertices go in one direction and the other half go in the opposite direction.
I want to create the opposite of 'simulate pressure', that is when stroking a path, I want the beginning (and end) of my line to be thicker and in the middle smaller.. how can you do that with PS 7 ?
I want to make a ring of polygons on the outside of a polygon-like the inset function when you get to >=2, but without all of the twisted polygons beneath it. Is there a way to do this using a tool, or do I have to manually add them myself?
I can make the larger radii on the connection pieces. Untwisting the polygon (rotating it -180) and then extruding/hinging works, however is there an easier way than that?
I was wondering if you have to solid objects and then use UNION command to make them as ONE object BUT then I don´t after a while you realise that this was a mistake is there a command that you can use to split them as they were before (beside from command undo or slice).
I want to move two opposite anchor points in opposite directions so that they are equally spaced. So if I have one anchor point I want to move right and the other left how can i make sure that they have equal spacing apart without having to resort to rulers. Is it possible to select both points and get them to move in opposite direction together?
I have managed to reflect objects but cannot manage to reflect one object across the Artboard to show up on the opposite side. If you see my image below, I would like to reflect the horizontal stripe at the top of the design and make it appear at the bottom of the Artboard so it finishes the design. Almost all of the work I do requires only one quarter of the design to be created, then I could just reflect it across and then reflect it down so this would be a useful piece of knowledge
I have been a long time user of Photoshop Elements, I think since version 2 or 3. I went from 6 to 10 earlier this year and have been working with a Trail version of 11 for a few days now. Overall, I like it, but like so many companies do, when they address a major concern of a large group of customers, they go too far in the opposite direction.
Two major complaints about PSE up through 10 are that it is A) too dark and B) the control icons/text are too small and difficult to see. This is mostly a complaint of the visually impaired. (Which is an interesting side-discussion, given that photography is a visual art).
Although I liked the dark layout, I tended to agre with most users about the latter complaint. The icons and text were difficult to see even for people with good vision. With PSE 11, I see the exact opposite, the layout is too bright for my tastes. After all, the purpose of this software is to work with images. A dark layout lets me focus on the image itself, and not be distracted by the controls.
That much I can adapt to, but the bigger problem is the screen real estate taken up by the Tool Options. It's HUGE! Especially when working with images in a vertical format, which represent a significant percentage of my images. For example I love to play around with vertical panoramas, an often overlooked way to capture a scene such as tall trees, buildings, etc.
I am finding myself constatnly havign to toggle back and forth between the Tool Options bar, and even with the F4 keyboard shortcut, it's a pain in the butt.
my opinion is that Adobe fixed a couple big problems for a lot of users but went too far and created a different set of problems for many other users.
I'd like to see an option between dark and light layouts. Let users decide. Kinda like making the program skinnable, but not all that many options are needed.Or... how about an auto-dimming feature? When the mouse is hovered over the image area, while working with the various tools, automatically dim the surrounding panels and menu bars. Then, when you move over the panels and menus, they would return to normal.Second, find a better solution to the Tool Options bar. Either make it A) moveable, like the other panels, B) resizeable, or C) auto-hide it.
At this point, I've almost decided that the size of that Tool Options Bar is a deal breaker and I won't upgrade. Vertical real estate is hard enough to find on computer monitors and Adobe took up 25% of what little I had. I'll wait for a future version to see if they take it back the other way.
I am having an issue in trying to get my hole axis to offset in the opposite direction. In the image below I want the slot to be centered on the hole. I can get it to offset moving the slot to the left, but can't get it to go to the right. I have tried a negative number, but both positive and negative move it to the left.
Is there a tool to mirror objects like there is in Max inside Maya? I am trying to copy my rig controllers to the opposite side but I cant find any tools to do it in 1 click...
I have a dynamic block for HSS column. Previously it was always 1"x1" and I would just scale it to the proper column size I needed. Ignoring the wall thickness.
But if there was an asymmetrical HSS (i.e. 4x6) the wall thicknesses and radii of corners would look funny.
So now I want one that has Stretch Actions to change the size of the column. I added a Stretch to one side, then the other with distance multiplier of -1. But as you can see on the attached, the Linear Parameter baseline doesn't stretch. I want to have the Parameter Distance the actual full width of the column so I can change the columns with the Properties Palette. Otherwise, I would just start the Parameter from the center of the column.
I am trying to draw a sun-like shape. I started with a star polygon and apply the Twist effect. That gets me pretty good arms on the sun, but I'd like for something a bit more flame-like, so I'd like to get the arms to now bend back in the opposite direction. Is there any way to use or modify the Twist effect so that I can apply it a second time but bend further out in the opposite direction? Or is there some other good way to get the rotation along all the arms.
Ive been messing around with the variable width tool, Im not sure I i changed something, I did try to restore defaults but when I make a change it changes the opposite side of the image. For example In screen shot I changed the width on the left and the effect showed up on the right.
I would like the width to change where I change it.
