Jan 7, 2014I need changing the line weights.I was given an AutoCAD 2009 file that already had the drawing created. In the Model space, the drawing has been created on Layer 0. Some of the other lines have a different layer - but most of it is created on Layer 0.My manager has asked me to simply make some of the lines bold and leave the rest as is.
When I turn on the LWT button at the bottom of my program, the line weight is extremely bold (shows "By Layer" for the line weight). I have gone back to each layer to select a thinner line weight and saved the drawing. However, when I go to print, the line weight defaults back to the “By Layer” line weight.
do I need to be in Layout space to make these changes permanent?
I have then created a new layer (with a new colour) and selected my preferred line weight – and changed the lines that I want to be thicker, to the new layer I created. When I go to print, I went into my printer settings and insured that the new layer I created and colour has the preferred line weight I want. However, when I preview my drawing, it has made all the other layers thicker, and the ones I want thinner.
Should I follow the previous forums and threads using the pline and pline edit?
Revit :: Wall Placement And Temp Dimensions?
Dec 16, 2011I am sorta of new to Revit. I have been using it off and on for about 3 years and I have one burning question. What and how does Revit determine where the temp dimension is based off of when you are placing new walls? I have had the temp dimension jump all the way across a plan to find a wall that I drew 3-4 hours ago and has no relevance to the current wall I am drawing. The space I am currently on has a geometric relationship to the walls around it, not to a partition wall 200 feet away with no relationship to the current space. Yes I understand the building as a whole has a relationship to all parts within, but I think you get the drift.

Dec 4, 2013Why would a window be movable by dragging but not movable by changing the temporary dimension? It's not pinned.
It works fine for the walls, but no matter what I put in the dimension value it won't budge the window an inch.
Is it an error in my family or is there something wrong with the project? I've been having a lot of problems with this one. I feel like it's all the funny angles, but the window and the door are in the same freaking wall so why should that matter?

Nov 4, 2011basically I record using the hauppauge HD-PVR which records the clips in the M2TS format. I've been using Videostudio Pro X3 to edit the files and rendering them and have had no problems until now. I used to render my videos using the WMV HD 720 25p setting and the quality has always been perfect.
Recently though I tried to render a video using the same setting and it renders the video really quickly and the quality looks terrible.How to fix it so it renders the way it used to or would know another format that would give me the same results?
I was thinking of re installing pro X3 in the hope of it working the way it used to but i don't know if i will lose all my projects that i'm currently working on.
AutoCad :: Settings Changed And Cannot Go Back To Default
Mar 20, 2012I have been using autocad for many years but have never experienced this situation before. I have received a simple Electrical layout file from a consultant, after opening this file my settings in AutoCAD changed, for examples the snap angle to the cursor changed to 337.18 degree, the selection box (pick box) went to maximum and a few other settings also changed. I had to manually go back to the options and change some of the settings back to what I normally have which is very much similar to default settings. But I could not change everything back to normal. I had AutoCAD 2010 and later installed 2012 to see if it would fix the problems. What surprised me is that when install fresh AutoCAD 2012, the default settings is now changed to the settings that has changed in my previous AutoCAD.I would like to change the settings back to normal.

Photoshop :: During Startup Both Bridge / CS6 Try To Make Temp Files On Root Folder Of OS Drive
Aug 18, 2012There is a serious root problem with Adobe's implemented permissionless-temp-file creation methods (pun intended.) The problem is that during startup, both Bridge and Photoshop CS6 try to make temp files on the root folder of the OS drive. Its affecting many peoples' installations by crashing them on application launch if not run by the super-administrator account on the computer. Adobe says to just run as admin to fix it, which does fix the start up crash. However, for me, it creates a gigantic problem: it breaks OS-to-PS and OS-to-Bridge drag and drop functionality completely!!! I literally was slowed to a crawl in my workflow having to import photos 1 at a time through the file-> open menu because I couldn't drag and drop various files from various locations on my computer. Not everything is clumped in 1 area neatly for Bridge to open everything, and I never realized just how much I used this function until this run as admin band-aid broke it. Eventually I fixed the CS temp location after 10-12 hours of hair pulling research and trial and error, and I finally have Photoshop CS6 working without admin permissions and everything is dandy with drag and drop, but only in PS. Bridge still cannot be run without administrator privileges and cannot have files dropped in or out of it to or from Explorer, and I am getting really frustrated here.
So does anyone else find their drag and drop ability gone once running Bridge/PS CS6 in admin mode? Is there a way to move the default temp creation location of Bridge as well? I'm frustrated and I think Adobe seems to be taking this permissions issue way too lightly!
Lightroom :: Basic Settings Are Changed In LR4 When Saving From Photoshop CS6?
Oct 18, 2012I am using LR4 and Photoshop CS6. What has recently started happening is when I send an image from LR to CS6 and then save the image I reopen the image in LR and find that all of the basic settings have been changed.
I am referring to the Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks. Even if I send the image to CS6 and make no changes, only chosing to save the image before closing, when I reopen it in LR it appears blown out because of the changes in these settings. I there a setting in preferences or somewhere that could have somehow been changed and causing this? Have updated both programs so am using the most recent versions.
It seems that when I open the image back up in LR it is way overexposed, however if I send it back to Photoshop the image is appears to be exposed properly like when I saved it.
Revit :: Properties Palette Has Changed
Jan 30, 2014When I open a project or family file (new or old) the properties palette is not the one I am used to seeing. Usually one can view sheets, 3D views, and elevations in a project file and (while I have located some of these options in the tool bar) they are not located conveniently on the properties palette as usual. When I open a family file, I can usually go to different elevations and create extrusions/model from different views. There is currently no option for viewing different elevations and when I go to toggle in a 3D view I can't go back to the reference plan (the only view I can model in). Nov 27, 2011I'm running PSPX3. the effect of no compression (or compression factor = 1) on saving files. I've got a JPEG image file straight from my camera that's approximately 4.1MB in size. If I do nothing else but "Save As" with a compression factor of 1, the new file size is approximately 50% larger, or 6.2MB. What has changed to make the file size larger? Both images are still 72DPI, 3648X2736px. I can't image that I have done anything to "improve" image quality, so why did the file size increase?

Nov 1, 2012Document colors in Corel Draw X3 have changed. Example: dark green is now black on my designed object; Teal is now light green.
I thought it might be color management had switched somehow but all management settings do not make a change as they did before or at all. Basically I think the problem lies in the color management. I re-installed the program but the problem remains. Color management does not affect color appearances as they used too before.I run windows 7 and have had it for a couple of years with no problems.

Apr 12, 2012Any way to get a wall sweep that's set up in the type/structure properties to follow a wall if that walls profile has changed. For example, in the image below, I've split the wall and adjusted it's profile to create some cheesy angled parapet. How do i get my wall cap to follow along? I thought splitting it and changing it's height would work, but no. And if I change the profile without splitting the wall the wall cap just runs right through the wall, as if the profiel was never even changed.

Nov 1, 2011I'm trying to find a setting in Revit that will increase the precision on how Revit draws curves. For instance, With circles and arcs drawn in revit, you can zoom way in and will see it faceted instead of a smooth curve. When you export the file into autocad, it puts vertices at the same spots as was shown on the screen in Revit. Is there a setting in Revit to increase the number of vertices so when I export the file into autocad, at least the number of vertices increases and the curves look more curvy and not so segmented? Basically I have a user who drew signage artwork in Revit, and we need it in Illustrator. There's not enough time to redraw it all in illustrator, so we know it will be segmented no matter what, but wanted to know if Revit has a setting that will increase the number of vertices hence making it less segmented visually. I recall theres a setting for this in AutoCAD, just don't know about Revit.

Jun 21, 2012We work with prototype buildings that can have material color variations from site to site. For example, a brick version of a prototype can have several different brick palettes from which to choose.
I'm thinking fo creating generically-named materials in the prototype set - Brick-Base and Brick-Accent, for example - with the idea that the specific material data for the function can be changed for each site-specific building.
While this certainly can be done manually, is there a way to import material data - and not just rendering appearance data but all of the data - into a model, either from another model or better yet, from some sort of data file? Ideally you would only import the materials for which you need to change the data.

I was wondering what the intial settings under the graphics should be? like what shadows I should use? how high the exposure should be? Even when I turn the sun completely off the sun still shows through the windows. My renderings are also showing up grainy.
