View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to find a setting in Revit that will increase the precision on how Revit draws curves. For instance, With circles and arcs drawn in revit, you can zoom way in and will see it faceted instead of a smooth curve. When you export the file into autocad, it puts vertices at the same spots as was shown on the screen in Revit. Is there a setting in Revit to increase the number of vertices so when I export the file into autocad, at least the number of vertices increases and the curves look more curvy and not so segmented? Basically I have a user who drew signage artwork in Revit, and we need it in Illustrator. There's not enough time to redraw it all in illustrator, so we know it will be segmented no matter what, but wanted to know if Revit has a setting that will increase the number of vertices hence making it less segmented visually. I recall theres a setting for this in AutoCAD, just don't know about Revit.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe work with prototype buildings that can have material color variations from site to site. For example, a brick version of a prototype can have several different brick palettes from which to choose.
I'm thinking fo creating generically-named materials in the prototype set - Brick-Base and Brick-Accent, for example - with the idea that the specific material data for the function can be changed for each site-specific building.
While this certainly can be done manually, is there a way to import material data - and not just rendering appearance data but all of the data - into a model, either from another model or better yet, from some sort of data file? Ideally you would only import the materials for which you need to change the data.
I am using Revit 2013 and I am rendering in the Cloud and my renderings are not turning out as well as I want them to. I was wondering what the intial settings under the graphics should be? like what shadows I should use? how high the exposure should be? Even when I turn the sun completely off the sun still shows through the windows. My renderings are also showing up grainy.

The tag will rotate the text per the views settings (project north vs. true north).
So it will display correctly in one view but not the other.
Is there a way to modify the settings associated with the view disciplines? The reason is that when a view is set to mechanical, electrical, or plumbing, a white border appears around families that blocks the lines of adjacent families. This doesn't happen when the discipline is set to architectural, structural, or coordination.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs the any way of saving settings for in particular base level and top level. Always defaults to the current view level for base - can this be overriden permanently. Same for upper level - what lvel does it automatically default. Stair by sketch often involves trial and error and redoing it each time because once done you cant change the levels, rise, width or change the number of segments governed by the path. It would be nice to not have to reset levels each time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I determine "Tab Settings" with 5 mm - as my default?
It does not glue when I change such preference and use "Save Settings as Default"? When I reopen Draw it is back to 10,0 mm.
This may be a silly question but I cannot find where to import all my custom keyboard shortcuts from X5. Is this doable?

I have succesfully changed the direction of the beam system under the floor, but cannot change the direction of the floor panel. I have tried the folllowing:
1) Going into sketch mode and changing the beam support direction.
2) Changing the pattern in the materials fsettings from horizontal to vertical.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way in Revit to export or import settings much like a profile in AutoCAD and how I set up the icon to point at that profile when the program opens? I would like to know how be able to customize where the program looks for the families and other items over the network, so all users can see the same thing, in options.
Attached is the properties of the AutoCAD icon. The Target is set-up to point to the "AutoCAD Architecture (US Imperial)" profile. I would like to do something similar in the Revit icon.
I'm trying to import one Revit file into another. When I try to link the file I get a dialogue box that says:
"The import geometry will not be visible in the view using current settings. The Oringin of the import will be centered on the origin of the model instead. You can view the import in any view where its geometry is within the extents."
For this it sounds like the imported model is way off to the side or way up high or low but even in a view that I increase the extents to maximum i can't see the object.
I've tried "center to centre" and "origin to origin". I've check in the visual graphic and can't see anything turned off.
The file i am imported ia a structural model export from Tekla that I imported into a Revit and cleaned up. Everything looks fine when i open the file on it's own.
I managed to get a nice set of different settings to publish a corel file to pdf. Now I would like copy these settings to multiple other pc's in the office. where a can find the file/folder in which these settings are being saved?
Otherwise I would have to set all different pc's individually and I rather spend my time otherwise.
X3 - I use X4 at work with no problems but at home I have X3. I set my workspace the way I want it and all my presets the way I want. I hit tools/save stings as default. I then save my workspace as todays date. Close corel and reopen. It starts with the defaults every time! I have to manually choose my workspace and even after doing so my settings have reverted back to default i.e. text to be point not inches like I chose etc.

I have an existing X6 document which has a rectangle object with a Lens attached.
I did not create the document, so what sort of lens it is and what settings the lens has. I suspect it is a transparency lens.
I cannot find any way to locate the settings for this lens - so that I can reproduce and modify the lens settings. Where i can find the settings for the lens?
When you save a PDF preset it says 'security settings are not saved with PDF preset' is there anyway to change this, i want to save the security setting so i don't have to set a password each time i save it, i make dozens of PDF proofs a day and its a pain having to set it every time i publish to PDF.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use CorelDRAW X4 exclusively (90%) for Laser work. I have a Page saved as Laser Page. It use to open with a 24 x 12 page area and Horizontal and vertical guidelines in place. It is set to "show guidelines."
However, every time I open a new document, the page layout and guidelines are not there. I always have to rebuild the page and add the guidelines. What has changed so that all I get is a blank page anymore? Or how to reestablish my defaults? I have re-saved it as my new default countless times but nothing sticks. It's a pain to have to always reestablish the layout I want to work with..
I've noticed that DRAW seems to forget whatever settings I choose for duplicate.
So, I found the following in the index:
"Copying objects quickly. You can use other methods to create copies of objects quickly, without using the Clipboard. You can use the plus sign (+) on the numeric keypad to place a copy of an object on top of the original object, or you can create copies instantly by pressing the Space bar or right-clicking while dragging an object."
The + sign thing is cool. Wish I had known. But the Space bar drag either doesn't work at all or puts down one copy at what is apparently a set distance from the original, and then a second copy wherever I release the mouse button. ? Win7, DRAW X6.
I have been drawing the drafting lines and measurements manually and noticed the dimensions tool. Works great but when I shrink the layout for proofing the measurements change. Is there a setting that I can select that will keep the actual measurements of the drawing no matter how I resize it for proofing?

See the red marked area, where it is not accepting to select the rgb or cmyk. Only accepts the Lab only. It is changing the X5 but not in the X6.
I just got a new system installed corel draw fresh, loaded all my gms's , imported workspace , great all work as before all my menus are nice and active...,
However my custom gradients have disappeared..., it took me a while to set up certain gradients and I removed lots of the useless default ones that were there preset in the previously installed corel draw.
I accessed my old hard drive and found the gradient preset file however when I copied and replaced with the old gradient file the gradient data is not there....

is there another location where my old gradients would be saved?
good procedure to scan pages from a book on a flatbed scanner and edit the resulting file in Corel Photopaint (PP).
My situation is the following: The book contains text as well as images. The final image, after scanning and editing in PP should look good when printed on my simple desktop B&W laser printer but also look well when placed in a document for viewing on the computerscreen. The latter require colors.
My experiences so far: Usually I scan from PP using 600 dpi, to make the text look good on print. Often I get text prints which are not that nice, because in the rasterization which is taking place when my image is printed on my laserprinter in B&W it contains white pixels in the text sections. I can see them when using my 8x Horizon magnifying glass. I guess it is because I need to use pure black in RGB. What are the optimal color settings for my document? (Color Management setting ...). What I usually do when editing the images in PP is that I want to remove the often greyish areas around the corner of the page and make the text stand more black and crisp. To do so, I out-mask the images to not destroy them. Then in the Image Adjustment Lab window I use the "Select White Point" and "Select Black Point" to make the background behind the text white and to make the text more black. Sometimes I also use "Contrast Enhancement". Afterwards I sometimes use the "Invert Mask" tool to improve the images a little.
I am interested in the best settings for my document (Color Management) and a working process which means my scannings and editing can be accomplished in a decent time with a relative high degree of quality.
Will I lose my workspace or CM settings when installing from 16.1 to 16.2?
Right now everything is running somewhat smoothly for me and I'm wondering if I should even bother upgrading?
Ideal color settings for exporting .jpg and .eps files for CMYK printing? The default X6 settings result in rather washed out looking exports (both on the screen and on the prints). Black looks very dark grey etc.
Never had this issue with X3 but I understand that X6 uses a totally different color engine so I figure I just need to know the correct settings.
