View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a 5" x 7" (landscape style) image that I want to crop in Elements 9. I'm using the Guided mode on the Edit tab of the program. When I use the pulldown menu and I see the 5 x 7 crop box size that I want to use, I click it. But the crop window that appears, is 7 x 5 (portrait mode) rather than 5 x 7 landscape mode. I can work around this by changing my crop box size selection on the pulldown menu to No Restriction, but I'm then just guessing that I'll get precisely the 5 x 7 ratio that I want. How can I change the crop box from portrait style to landscape style so that I can crop my image 5 x 7 rather than 7 x 5?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI need changing the line weights.I was given an AutoCAD 2009 file that already had the drawing created. In the Model space, the drawing has been created on Layer 0. Some of the other lines have a different layer - but most of it is created on Layer 0.My manager has asked me to simply make some of the lines bold and leave the rest as is.
When I turn on the LWT button at the bottom of my program, the line weight is extremely bold (shows "By Layer" for the line weight). I have gone back to each layer to select a thinner line weight and saved the drawing. However, when I go to print, the line weight defaults back to the “By Layer” line weight.
do I need to be in Layout space to make these changes permanent?
I have then created a new layer (with a new colour) and selected my preferred line weight – and changed the lines that I want to be thicker, to the new layer I created. When I go to print, I went into my printer settings and insured that the new layer I created and colour has the preferred line weight I want. However, when I preview my drawing, it has made all the other layers thicker, and the ones I want thinner.

How can i export a series of images in different aspect ratios to the same height?
I wish to make a slider callery for my website. all the images need to be 750 Pixels high, the width does not matter. I have a mixture of square pandscap and protraite images can i do thing as one export or do i have to do it twice? Once for long edge and once for shot edge?
I am a new Lightroom user. i can't seem to undo the permanent watermark that appears on my exported image. Tried as I may editing the watermark setting, I was not able to shut off the watermark appearance.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn Lightroom 5.3 suddenly, when I enter custom aspect ratios in the cropping function the results are not right. The values I enter should make it shorter, but the results are making it narrower. This has been working correctly until just the last hour or so. Have I inadvertenly changed a setting of some kind?

View 1 Replies View RelatedLooking to switch to the LCD / TFT type monitors - am on CRTs at the moment...
Some questions:
1/ I see that in many cases (models), even though the brightness remain constant - 300 cd/m2 - the contrast ratios vary from 800:1 to 3000:1
I would think the higher contrast ratio would be better but often more expensive monitors offer the 800:1 and cheaper ones offer the 3000:1. This from the same manufacturer. Am i missing something?
2/ Today, is there a difference between TFT and LCD when it comes to monitors or do they mean the same thing or rather are talking about the same thing?
3/ Another wild difference... some expensive ones are talking of a 16ms refresh while the cheaper ones are at 5ms
4/ Ideally, i'm looking for a 1600 x 1200 but - obviously these are not the widescreens. See some available at 20/21 inch category and they are the traditional 3:4 screen ratio (like CRTs). So would it be better to go for a 24" at 1920 x 1200... in about the same price range?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am doing design exhibitions with interior design. The interior designer sends me an AutoCAD file. The AutoCAD can calculate ratios from the actual sizes, how about the Illustrator? Can it calculate in the same way? For example, draw the line 2 meters from ratio 1:30. Now, we have to compare and calculate length in manual way which is inconvenience for us.

I decided to make a lot of GIF files (from a dvd concert). Took all the necessary jpeg screenshots to make my gif files.
Go to PS and I crop each one by one to my specifications. However, after a couple hundred crops my fingers are hurting! I am tired of cropping each jpeg file.
Is there a way to simulataneously select all of my jpeg images and crop them all at once with one swoop? If so, how would I be able to do it?
Then, I can use ImageReady and import those images and create my gif file correct?
I've been trying to alter a photo to make it look like a crop circle - as in, getting the texture of the (headshot) photo to resemble a crop circle, but still be recognizeable. After several frankly laughable attempts with combinations of fx, ( pastel, pencil sketch, twisty stuff, etc)
View 3 Replies View Relateddifference between DVD 4:3 and DVD 16:9. How should I be saving my file if it is to be shown on 18" tv screens ? Or does how I save it depend on something to do with the photographs I have in the slideshow? Will saving it as 4:3 reduce the overall file size ? Or is there another way to reduce the file size so I can fit more onto a DVD? At the moment I can only fit just over an hour onto a 4.7gb DVD. video editing dummy that I am.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a need to import a couple of colours OR add a couple of colours to the permanent colour.
I am using MX Photo&Grphic Designer and WebDesigner. I use webDesigner to create and administer a business website and use MX2013 for my graphics (Business graphics that use a pallet of company colours). Everytime I open a new document (tab) in MX2013 I need to recreate my company colours and name them. This is also the same in WebDesigner.
Is there anyway to add colours to the permanent colour pallet so they are available for every document as a default? This small item would save me some time and the frustration of constantly needing to add the same colours to my pages over and over.
