Lightroom :: Unable To Open Catalogue - Even After Deleting Lock File?
Jan 30, 2014Lightrooms crashed, which is a common occurrance. But, this last time was different. After I restarted it my catalog was not linked and all my settings were gone. I tried opening the catalog through the file menu, but absolutely nothing happens. I tried going to the folder and clicking on it but this only opens lightroom with no catalog. After having scanned this forum I found that I need to delete the .lock file, but after doing that the same things happen. how to open my catalog? Will reinstalling Lightroom work?

When converting an IFC file (which is created in All plan) components disappear from the model and some components ( not all ) get a other category assigned (not all floors together etc.). This is what happens in Revit 2013 but in Revit 2011 we did not have this problem.
Are there already improvements/solutions to work better with IFC files?The orange colored walls and the transparant floor ( V3 ) are invoked differently than the others.When I “bind” the IFC file now Revit makes the components disappear.

The problem is that those files can't be opened in Navisworks freedom until they are converted to a .nwd file. Can the .nwd be generated directly from the plugin? Both NWD and NWC are shown in the Navisworks Options Editor for the plugin, but only a .nwc is generated.

"This file is already open for editing by another user. You will be unable to save any changes before that user closes the file."
Since I am working on the project alone there are no other users who could have the file open. I don't know why I'm getting this message.
Revit :: Cannot Lock Dimension Due To Constraint Error
May 17, 2013Out side door pull will not stay in place in project view when family is loaded into wall thickness narrower than that used in family detail.
In family editor have tried pinning the pull and pinning its dimension. Cannot lock the dimension due to constraint error. Pull is dimensioned to ref plane at center of glass door. (Door is sliding glass adjacent to stationary glass panels.)

Apr 24, 2012I have a family that has over thirty types and I need to update a single parameter value across all types to be the same value. Is there a global way to perform this task instead of the current copy/paste/paste/paste method I am doing. I thought about exporting to a catalog and modifying the text file in Excel, but I lose my formula when I do that.
If this isn't possible, this would be a good wishlist item, Autodesk - where a family has global parameters that are consistent throughout the family, regardless of type.

Dec 5, 2012We have set up Revit 2013 and it works fine for creating folders and subfolders. I followed the Autodesk process step by step on creating a new file in the revit server. Everything is fine, but when I hit save an error message appears saying that the file cannot be saved. When I log into revitserver i see the new file, but I cannot delete, lock it, or use it at all.
How we can lock the files to be able to delete from the revit server?
As a side note:
Unless Autodesk is planning on getting rid of revit server they should really invest into the documentation and troubleshooting.

Feb 17, 2014Using Revit 2014 LT. Trying to open a file created by another user/seat of Revit 2014 LT (trial version for now).
Error Message reads "The file is open for editing by another user. If you open the file, you cannot save changes until the user closes is. In this case, your changes will overwrite the user's changes. What do you want to do?"
The file is NOT open by another user though.
I realize LT does not allow worksharing, but I assumed that was multiple users working on the same file at the same time. We need to open files one at a time, but by different users.

Is their any size limitation in revit server . My internet speed is ok that time . So i think its related to revit server

I need to lock a diagonal reference plane to the intersection of 2 orthogonal reference planes, so that my door (on an angle) will slide toward the fixed corner, instead of the corner moving toward the door. It is designed such that once inserted, the user can drag the outlet symbol and outlet to the right or left and also move the outlet symbol away from the wall plane to permit symbol stacking in plan. Most of the time this works but on some families, though seeming constructed in the same manner, the link between the receptacle and the controlling plane gets broken. The link to the outlet annotation family always stays connected.

Half way through it saves itself, then reverts back to it's original state and saves again. (This is to get the displacment map out of the same file)
What I want is this:
The file will be locked so no-one can mess with it, then I want an Applescript action (or whatever) to launch and unlock it, then when the Photoshop actions finish for another one to Lock it again so when a designer comes to save the file, he is forces to Save As. This will stop the original from being overwritten!

Sep 4, 2012I've got a problem following playing around (Typical, isn't it?). Architecture 2011 allows editing property sets from external objects through the host drawing (i.e. change a room number of a property set attached to a space xref'ed in from another construct). This obviously has to put an editing lock onto the xref to prevent data loss in case somebody else works on the xref in the meantime. This editing lock is removed when I close my host drawing. However, the lock is immediately restored when I re-open the host drawing.
How can I release the xref file lock again after editing the property sets in my host drawing?
