My school has Revit Architecture 2013 and can't upgrade it until this summer. Will I be able to save my file in Revit Architecture 2013 at school and transfer it home to Revit 2013 or 2014? The real question is, will I be able to save back to Revit Architecture 2013 from Revit 2014 or Revit 2013? Are the programs compatible?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working in Revit 2012. Everytime I save my file it just sits there and thinks. When CTRL-ALT-DEL revit is not responding so I have to end task. The file is not of abnormal size and has been functioning fine until today. I haven't done or made anything in revit out of the ordinary. When I re-open the file I get a "seek failed" message. I open the backup file just fine, but again, cannot save it without it locking up on me again. I have audited and purged. I have copied and saved a new file under a different name.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWe are running Revit 2012 Suites on iMac w/Parallels w/Windows XP SP3. Office file server is a Lion Server running 10.7.5. While working in Revit we can; save PDF's to server, export DWG/DXF to server, and for a few moments after opening a file we can save a .rvt file to the server. But after more than ~2min, Revit freezes at any save attempt and we have to force quit through the task manager.
Last few lines of journal entry for event reads as follows.

this error has persisted throught Revit 2011 and 2012 versions.
Whenever we sync or save our Revit files a dialog appears in the center of the drawing window. The dialog is titles Family and shows the Type selector pulldown.
It won't dock, and if you move it it moves back. This is occurring on all versions of Revit 2012, 2013, 2014. I have seem other users as well with the same issue.
I have Revit MEP 2012 and created a small guest house in this program. I wanted to add some features using Revit Architecture 2011that are not available in the MEP program. When I tried to bring the files up in the Revit architecture program I get an error message that the drawing was created in a later version of Revit. Is there any way to save the MEP file back to an earlier version of Revit like one could do with Autocad drawings?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running Revit Architecture 2012. I did a render and it looks fine in the default {3D} View. I selected to save it to the project and when I go to the renderings view to recall it, the color balance is all shifted off way way to the blue end. I tried going back over to render dialog and adjusting the white point all the way up, and it had the expected effect in the {3D} View (shifting everything to overblown orange), but nothing changed at all in the renderings View when I tried to resave it after making the adjustment.

I work for a company that is willing to license Photoshop for a month when big projects come up - but they do not want to purchase a yearly subscription or purchase the whole program. I am creating business cover pages in photoshop - all the images, layout, etc will stay the same. But the text will need to change for each proposal. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running CS5.5 student edition on a brand new Asus Q500A laptop running Windows 8. i7 processor and a UMA graphics card. I do not have calibration software; I'm using Calibrize for the moment and colors appear fairly true when browsing after calibration.
My problem is that overall colors in Photoshop appear more saturated than those in regular browser windows, particularly reds. I set up my computer to run the Win8 photos app and my desktop with Photoshop simultaneously and the color difference was immediately noticeable. I did a quick screen grab to show the difference; the inset photo is the one viewed in Win8's photos app, and the background is the exact same photo open in Photoshop.
This is the second install of this program. I originally installed it on a Dell Inspiron with a DuoCore processor (way out of spec, I know - that's why I upgraded!) and I seem to remember having this issue then, too. I found a way to correct it, but I don't remember how I fixed it and Photoshop is no longer on that machine so I can't look over my settings.
I have with transferring graphics between programs - that is graphics that have been "cut out" from their backgrounds. ie with transparent backgrounds.
Whenever I cut and paste out of Draw (or PP) into another program, say Serif PhotoPlus or Xara Designer, the background returns (white), and the same happens when I paste an image into Draw that has been cut out elsewhere. To all extent and purposes they become jpegs.
Yet an image "cut out" in Serif PhotoPlus can be pasted into Xara Designer with the transparency intact. It doesn't work in reverse though.
Is there a setting somewhere that would enable me to successfully transfer images out of and into Draw with transparency? Without having to export every time to png or pdf.
How or where to go to find out how to convert Autocad LT drawings into programs our CNC machining centers can use? Autocad assured me it would do this when we bought it. I just can't seem to find any info on it.

If my selection is not rectangular, a black background appears when I paste it that forces it to be a rectangle instead of the shape I actually selected. The program I specifically want to paste into is AutoREALM, but just to test I've tried pasting into MS Paint and MS Word, and the same problem occurs in all of them. Is there anything I can do in GIMP to prevent it from doing this?
