If I ever decided to stop using LR and switch to some other program, what type of metadata would be included with all of my images? I really only use LR to add tags to each image. Would these tags show up for my images in other programs?

I might have tried removing it manually but the trial version did not install clean - i could never use CS6.I tried to uninstall it over programs and features and it said something along the lines of 'we cant uninstall but would you like to remove this program from the list?' and i clicked yes.
I can't install Photoshop CS6 on my PC (windows 7 x64) There seems to be no solution to my problem, no uninstall program shows CS6 on its list, there is do uninstall in the program folder either.It appears I have scattered pieces of Photoshop all over my Pc and now I can't install it again (ever.)
Upgraded from 9 to 11. I have the old tags show up on the right but no pictures. When I look and open up the pictures they show the tags. Am I missing something?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn PSE6 I could see tags for each photo at a glance. In PSE11 the tags are all at the side and it takes a lot of eye movement to see tags assigned to each picture one at a time as they are selected. I prefer the PSE6 arrangement. Can I do it in PSE11?
View 1 Replies View RelatedPSE 8, Windows XP.I have a large file of photos of ferns. They are in tiff format. I have tagged them with categories and subcategories. Wanting a separate file of the same photos in jpg format I did the following:
1. I selected all the photos in the folder and went to file|write keyword tags and properties into photos.
2. I exported the 900+ photos to a new folder keeping names intact but changing from tiff to jpg
3. I went to file|get folders from files and folders
4. I found the folder and got it.
5. PSE imported the photos into the catalog first asking me if I wanted to import the tags. I checked select all
6. PSE shows the thumbnails but there are no tag icons and if I select a tag from the tags list, it finds the photo for the tiff photo but not the jpg photo.
I have all my photos in many folders, subfolders and subsubfolders. Now I have tagged some, and when I then klick on the little 'binocular' next to the tag to only show pictures with that tag - I was expecting to see all photos with that tag as thumbnails regardels of their placement in the various folders. But no! I have to have the folder marked in the table of contents in the left hand side. So basically I have to klick through all my folders to see where I have some with that tag. I hope there is another way to do this! How can I see all my photos with a specific tag? I also tried the timeline (which by the way I have found to be amazingly useless) and there the bars are slightly color coded to show that there are some photos with that tag - but that still means klicking through a lot of the timeline and still only seeing the photos in a specifik folder at a time, instead of all pictures with that tag.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have used multiple versions of Lightroom (2, 3, 4, and now 5). Why can't I add keyword tags to multiple photos? I know that it can be done while importing, but I usually import a whole day's worth of pictures at one time and they don't require all the same keyword tags. The ones that are common I do add during import. I used to be able to highlight the photos I wanted to add tags to, go to the metadata and find find the list of keywords applied to those photos. Tags that were not common to all photos has an * beside them. If I wished to have one of these tags for all the selected photos I just removed the *, otherwise I added the new tag to the list.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently downloaded Photoshop CC, Bridge and Lightroom 5.2 64 bit and am suffering with terrible performance issues. Initially both photoshop and lightroom worked really well but after only a couple of days and only a few hundred images being imported into lightroom I can no longer use lightroom.
The computer works fine prior to me opening lightroom, I can use all programs, open files and folders with no issue. However as soon as I have opened Lightroom then the whole system grinds to a hault. Lightroom is unresponsive and the rest of the system practically freezes, it took over an hour to open a folder containing roughly 100 JPEGs. When closing the laptop I have to manually close background programs because they are also unresponsive.
The computer has 6Gb RAM, 500GB HDD and a dual core processor so there is ample power to cope with this program on my system.
LR4 will not appear in Windows 7 default programs and access as a default program to choose. Microsoft says it is becasue it does not appear in the Windows registry and to contact the manufacturer. How do I get LR4 registered in Windows 7? If I have to reinstall what do I need to do to protect my file structures, etc.?

I'm just importing from my SD card in raw format. On my camera (Nikon D60) and on all the other programs the photo looks how I took the picture. Only in Lighroom, upon import it seems to change the color.

I went to default programs control panel an did not see where you change anything ?And what do you change it to ? Not sure what they are telling me to do ?
I want to eject my external hard drive from my laptop. I have my "master catalog" stored on their due to small internal hard drive. When I close all programs and I try to eject drive it says that a program is still using it. I am assuming that this is lightroom because the problem did not previously exist before I installed lightroom. (running windows 8, lightroom 5)
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo you know what system I have, I use a laptop running Windows 7 64bit, with a dual core processor and 4GB RAM. It's a very capable machine and I don't usually have a problem using LR on it.
After installing LR 3.3 over 3.2 I experienced a problem whereby the PC would not recognise which program to use for opening the lrcat catalog files. Using the Default Programs option in Control Panel didn't work as Windows wouldn't accept Lightroom as the default program and kept suggesting I open the catalog using Adobe Reader instead.
I seem to remember having an issue with the 3.2 update as well but that was simply the icon for file type being missing (showing a default unknown file type icon).
Anyway, resolved the problem but had to resort to downloading a program called Default Programs Editor (http:[url]...... to correct the problem. Am thinking next upgrade, I will uninstall LR completely before installing the update, just to be sure.
I'm using Organizer 11. First time evething was ok, persons/faces were detected correctly, then after a few month Organizer doesn't detected new faces and said every time that all faces were detected already also when I imported new fotos from my camera...
(I use the german version, so I can not tell you the exact error message in english, hope you unserstand what I mean.)
As I found no solution, I created a new catalog and imported all photos including their tags newly to this empty catalog. But allready tagged persons are not persons anymore - their tags are now in the "imported keyword tags" (German: "Importierte Stichwort-Tags") and not in the "person/face tags".
How can I tell the organizer that the imported Tags are persons/faces to having no douplicates in the person-tags and normal keyword-tags?
Here some Background Information about my system:
PSE 11, Windows 8, 64 Bit 8GB, Intel i7.
3 catalogs with each 8000-10000 photos.
I have just upgraded my Swedish PSE7 to an English PSE11. Of course the people keyword tags did not get converted into people tags because People is called Folk in Swedish. I was not aware of this mechanism prior to upgrading. How can I convert those keyword tags now?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to get Revit window tags to behave like the door tags? The door tags seem to be instance parameters while the window tags are type parameters. I would like to use separate numbers for each window even though they are the same type. This would allow me to specify header required for each window in the schedule. I understand that I could edit the window families and save them as different files but this is time consuming. Is there an easier way?

Now, in the Media view, over in the Tags/Info pane, I have Events, Other, and Places Tags, but no People Tags. However, when I look at individual photos in my converted catalogs, the people's names are still attached to them; the people icon is still associated with each photo so marked.
In PSE 10, when you imported new photos, you could drag People Tags from the Tags pane to one or more selected photos to quickly tag the subjects. Now, apparently, I'll have to group any new photos with people in them by hand and retype names over and over again — although those tags are already available in the catalog.
This is clearly insane. Surely Adobe hasn't taken something easy (dragging a people tag over from the right pane to a newly added photo) and turned it into something cumbersome and inefficient?
How do I get the Media view to populate the People Tags in the Tags pane along with the Existing Events, Other, and Places Tags?
After many years of using LR this is the first time I've encountered this issue (see 1st screenshot below). LR is scrambling my files. The affected raw files open fine in other programs, including adobe photoshop cc (see 2nd screenshot).

It would be possible to make selections of tags in conjuction? I mean, If I have several tags like Person A, Person B, Sport 1, Sport 2, etc... and I want to select from my catalog just the photos tagged with the Person A + Sport 2 because I want to see this Person A playing Sport 2 (and not Sport 1).

Why are the tags I added to images in PSE not assocated with the images when I import them into LR. Some of them are on the keyword list, but not all. And none of them are associated with an image. I am trying out LR but its difficult if I have to go and retag things again?
