Whenever we sync or save our Revit files a dialog appears in the center of the drawing window. The dialog is titles Family and shows the Type selector pulldown.
It won't dock, and if you move it it moves back. This is occurring on all versions of Revit 2012, 2013, 2014. I have seem other users as well with the same issue.
This didn't used to happen, but now whenever I open an Illustrator file, the "Find Font" dialog opens as though the fonts I'm using aren't found. Not sure what it wants me to do because no matter what I try nothing resolves. I simply click the "Done" button and go about my business. And there are no problems. Why is this happening? and why now? My fonts are always loaded before I open the file, the file looks and handles just fine.

I would like to know if there is some type of plug-in, etc. out there that would allow me to have all the functionality of a Distiller dialog box when I save a PDF out of Illustrator CS5. Right now, I just have what comes installed with Illustrator. It's a stripped down version of what you would find in distiller.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are running Revit 2012 Suites on iMac w/Parallels w/Windows XP SP3. Office file server is a Lion Server running 10.7.5. While working in Revit we can; save PDF's to server, export DWG/DXF to server, and for a few moments after opening a file we can save a .rvt file to the server. But after more than ~2min, Revit freezes at any save attempt and we have to force quit through the task manager.
Last few lines of journal entry for event reads as follows.

this error has persisted throught Revit 2011 and 2012 versions.
In sections the scale of the hatch appears very large. Attempting to change the scale via /properties/ material/ cut pattern/ fill pattern/ edit/ import/ change scale/... has no effect!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI ran some rendereings using revit 2013 , and windows 8 . But everytime I render a view I get a horizontal white area in the background that looks like a white fence.
I attached a rendered view ( draft quality) and a realistic view . you can see the white area in the background in both images.
How do I go about saving the settings on the open dialog box? It keeps moving to different locations and it keeps changing the Name / Date modified / Type / Size columns very narrow where it only shows the name and nothing else.
I do have the dialog box very large across so it can accommodate what I want including the preview.
When I am working I tend to open 50-100 jpeg images at a time, modify each one of them, and then close out and use the Save All option displayed on close. I am then prompted with the save configuration box for each and every image. Now I have honestly never once changed the quality from 95% before hitting okay. I know the save configuration box does save the quality settings, however I have found that when if I hit enter on the save configuration box too fast I end up with a partially corrupted thumbnail, meaning I have to wait a few seconds before hitting okay so this does not happen.
What would be a very large time saver for me and I'm sure many other users who work with large number of users at the same time would be a little checkbox that says "Do not display the Save Configuration box again for this session". If a user does need the Save Configuration box then they could just ignore this, however for users like me who do not want to change the quality, this would be a large time saver.

I had my automatic save set up for every 10 minutes but files were not being saved regularly. I deleted files from the Temp folder thinking it was full and now there are no .sv$ saving at all. How can I make drawings save automatically every 10 minutes?
In Revit 2013 I attempt to load an item from the Family but I find that the “Load Family” dialog box does not appear. how to get it to cooperate? Even starting a new project the load family dialog box does not appear. I have done: 1) system restore, 2 ) repaired install, 3 ) re-installed, 4) uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch but still the problems persists on this machine. all other office PC’s with Revit 2013 behave.

In the Build area of the home ribbon, I select the Component button. I going to the Place component ribbon. When I select Load Family form the Mode portion of the ribbon, the properties box pops up. It is locked at this point and I cannot do anything but hit escape. The program functions just fine in all other aspects. I have used a vanilla project to see if the project I am working on is corrupted and I get the same results.
Opened the Elevation Tags dialog (manage Additional settings) duplicate the 1/2" Square type call it External Elevation Tag. did the same to 1/2" Circle call it Internal Elevation Tag.
picked the elevation tool go to type selector and my new Elevation Tags not there - why?
Is there any way to turn on a command dialog box for Revit architecture 2012?Whenever I try to perform any knd of command from the "ribbon bar", I don't know the status of the command until I ht cancel and see what the command may or may not have done.
I noticed that, whenever I enter a command (such as "place a component"), I have to hit "cancel" TWICE to get out of it. Seems strange; I would expect to see an "end" command, instead of "cancel" (which implies exiting without doing anything). Or maybe I'm just going nuts trying to learn Revit.
Why does Revit not allow the copy and pasting of text from, for example, the Formula box in a Family Types Dialog? There are other instances when this also manifests itself but I'm struggling with formulas currently and need to get on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am linking to the exact same background image file (TIF) in more than one illustrator file. This image is on the bottom layer in four different files.
The opacity on the image and the image's layer is set to 100% in all the files. In the dialog box for each of the layers that contain the image, the "Dim" control is unchecked. There are no other higher layers that contain artwork that might interfere with the image's appearance.
Yet...in two of the files, the image looks full and vibrant. In the other two files, the image looks dim and faded.
Is there another control that I'm missing that might be causing the image to be faded. (I want it to be full and vibrant.)

Currently Revit doesn't support multiple selection in Material edition dialog, so when user wants to delete multiple materials, he/she has to select one, delete, then one again and again. It's really tedious and waste lots of time.

I have Corel PhotoPaint X5 running on Windows 7 x64. Every time I save a jpg or jpeg file, the file cannot be shared and appears with a padlock on the bottom left hand corner. To be able to share it, I have to go to the properties of every individual photo and add "Everyone" to the permissions in the Security Tab. Other files save OK. Its only jpg/jpeg files that get locked.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working in Revit 2012. Everytime I save my file it just sits there and thinks. When CTRL-ALT-DEL revit is not responding so I have to end task. The file is not of abnormal size and has been functioning fine until today. I haven't done or made anything in revit out of the ordinary. When I re-open the file I get a "seek failed" message. I open the backup file just fine, but again, cannot save it without it locking up on me again. I have audited and purged. I have copied and saved a new file under a different name.

I can Add, I can change the DVD type, but I don't know how to continue. The Next button is grayed out, the tab for setup 2 is also grayed out, and there is no way for me to figure out What to do to create the menu and continue.
