View 4 Replies View Relatednew to 3D modelling in Autocad. the client has asked me to detail this in about 20 places on a structure. Its an SHS edge beam joining a CHS rafter. Both are at different angles. The CHS has a cleat plate, as does the edge beam. The 2 need to align and connect. The bolt hole must be 40mm off the face of the rafter. The rafter CL & edge beam CL need to coincide at a setting out point.
Where the rafter cleat plate connects to its rafter it has to be in alignment with the rafters plane.SHS edge beam will need to have its sides vertical and horizontal, so the edge beam cleat won’t be aligned with the SHS faces .
Even though I have the autocad file as an example, have tried to draw this about 100 times but cant get it right – I have been unable to contact the draftsman who did it. How to draw it and what commands to use?how to use UCS and other modelling operations.
how to model a leather covering for some furniture I am designing. Do I treat the leather sheet like sheet metal and use the sheet metal tools (I have not used this feature yet)? That way I can flatten it out to get a pattern.
Or do I treat it like a plastic moulding (again I have not used this feature)? A plastic moulding would give me a visual model but I would not be able to get a pattern from it.
How can I create bicycle gears that have different numbers of teeth but all have an inter tooth distance (distance between the teeth centres) of 12.7mm?
My attempt at a solution and problems encountered:
I made a bicycle gear by patterning a small circle around a large circle then trimming lines (see attached sketch), but this method requires me to estimate the diameter of the large circle before patterning and then keep modifying this slightly until I get an intertooth distance as close as possible to 12.7mm. So I can't get exactly 12.7mm. In my sketch I have labelled this intertooth distance I refer to by construction lines.
I'm modelling columns in-place. I have given the first one a Type Mark name but when i copy it the Type Name does not copy with it and the count in my schedule remains at 1.
Due to the shape of the member i had to model it as an in-place family.
I have to create a hollow model of an aircraft. Most of it is reasonably straight forward, however, I am having real problems modelling the nose and cockpit area due to the inconsistency of the shape from the cabin towards the nose of the aircraft.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWe are a transport engineering firm in Queensland and I would like to develop a spreadsheet that can formulate cross member distances and recalculate to add or remove cross members.
The basis of this is the overall size of the body we are building.
For example: The maximum width of a body in Australia is 2.5metres overall. Our cross members would be 6 mm shorter than the overall width of the body to allow for 3mm end caps to cover the open ends of the cross members. So the length of the cross member is width minus 6, or , parametrically the length is (overall width - (endcap thickness x2))
The body length is the tricky one. We have a maximum spacing on the cross members. This will vary from size of body to size of body. EG the spacing on the small 2 tonne body will be different to the spacing on the 12 tonne body etc. So lets say we want to have maximum spacing of 450mm and a minimu spacing of 300mm between centrelines of the cross members. The overall length of the body will also determine the number of cross members required.
On top of this there is the front and rear coaming to take into consideration.
So the formula would be ((overall length - front coaming - rear coaming) divided by cross member spacing)) then a check to see if the last space is what and then can we change the cross member size to take up that space without going over the maximum space. We would also need to take into account the width of the cross member section as well in this calculation.
EG if we have 150mm left at the end we could increase the cross member centres slightly to take up this additional space without going over the maximum space allowable.
I want to create a 3D model for a metal frame I bought commerically. To create the model in Inventor, I need to know the bend angle such as the one shown in the first figure of:

What kind of tool do I need to measure the bend angle of the real metal frame reasonably accurately?
In Inventor, is there an easy eay to create the teeth of the servo horns?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI work for a company that is willing to license Photoshop for a month when big projects come up - but they do not want to purchase a yearly subscription or purchase the whole program. I am creating business cover pages in photoshop - all the images, layout, etc will stay the same. But the text will need to change for each proposal. Is there an easy way to save the image as a PDF & then use another program to change the wording down the line?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running CS5.5 student edition on a brand new Asus Q500A laptop running Windows 8. i7 processor and a UMA graphics card. I do not have calibration software; I'm using Calibrize for the moment and colors appear fairly true when browsing after calibration.
My problem is that overall colors in Photoshop appear more saturated than those in regular browser windows, particularly reds. I set up my computer to run the Win8 photos app and my desktop with Photoshop simultaneously and the color difference was immediately noticeable. I did a quick screen grab to show the difference; the inset photo is the one viewed in Win8's photos app, and the background is the exact same photo open in Photoshop.
This is the second install of this program. I originally installed it on a Dell Inspiron with a DuoCore processor (way out of spec, I know - that's why I upgraded!) and I seem to remember having this issue then, too. I found a way to correct it, but I don't remember how I fixed it and Photoshop is no longer on that machine so I can't look over my settings.
I had desktop icon and shortcut error messages so I reinstalled photoshop cs3 and not all of the programs associated with photoshop have reappeared. I then deactivated photoshop, uninstalled it, went to photoshop folders and manually deleted as much as I could find, reinstalled it and again the same thing.

View 6 Replies View Related I've bought the Adobe Web Premium CS4 package a while back (when they just released CS5) and I'm having huge issues now. Basically all my Adobe applications freeze up directly or do so when using them so I'm unable to get any work done.
It used to be sporadically but recently it started happening more often up to the point that I can't start Photoshop, Dreamweaver or Illustrator without it freezing up the after the program is launched, when opening a document or working on an existing document. I've just shot a bunch of photo's at a fundraiser and want to edit the RAW images but both Photoshop and Bridge freeze up when I try to open the photo's.
I'm on a 2010 iMac running OSX 10.7.5 with a 3.2GHz Intel Core i3 and 12GB memory. I realize CS4 on OSX is 32bits but problems with insufficient RAM shouldn't be a problem, I usually have 4-6GB RAM unused.
I just bought 2 software licenses (for Illustrator CS6 and Photoshop CS6), but I can't find on adobe website where to download Illustrator CS6 and Photoshop CS6, I just find CC versions, but my serial numbers don't work for CC versions.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having a bit of trouble with Photoshop. Colors are displayed differently, than in other programs (Paint, Firefox etc...), which makes it impossible for me to design anything. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using CS6 and doing various editing on photos. They are raw files initially and once I am finished with the editing and flattening I save them as .png files. The photos look great when I view them in photoshop yet when I look at them in Bridge or other programs (Windows), they look grainy and the colors appear muted.

That website doesn't work. I have the CS6 web & design premium, I had installed it into my last mac book that had a disc drive but it's no longer working. I got a new mac book and have found no answers as how to install my programs. I keep getting loop holes.
I have been using PS CS 5 for the past couple years- and I have it set so that the background is transparent- and I can see the folders I'm working from behind the images I'm working on.
Working with the grey background makes me feel like I'm working in a dark cave... How do I turn off the background color (I can see where to change it- but not turn it off...)
I have had a bunch of pictures of my daughters wedding emailed to me but I can't figure out how to import them to either Photoshop 7, or Photoshop album starter 3.2.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Adobe CS3 and I am a registered owner. Opening any of the programs a blank screen pops that has a heading "Adobe Design Suite Premium CS3" which I believe is the form to fill out to either register the program or activate I can't remember which.
I have had the program for about three months and occasionally this screen would pop up but with a form that could be filled. I just closed out on it because I had previously completed all the "paper work" What do I need to do to get my programs back up and running?
