AutoCAD Inventor :: Modelling An Aircraft Nose?

Feb 6, 2012

I have to create a hollow model of an aircraft.  Most of it is reasonably straight forward, however, I am having real problems modelling the nose and cockpit area due to the inconsistency of the shape from the cabin towards the nose of the aircraft.

I am having problem designing the internal part of the end connector section where the internal tube  from the probe goes up bends and connects to a tube with end connector via an accumulator. (as shown in the  picture attached - Pitot.tube_abnormal.procedures-1_A300-600_Prunep.55)

AutoCAD Inventor :: Modelling Leather Coverings

Aug 9, 2012

how to model a leather covering for some furniture I am designing. Do I treat the leather sheet like sheet metal and use the sheet metal tools (I have not used this feature yet)? That way I can flatten it out to get a pattern.

Or do I treat it like a plastic moulding (again I have not used this feature)? A plastic moulding would give me a visual model but I would not be able to get a pattern from it.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Modelling Bicycle Gears

Nov 5, 2012

How can I create bicycle gears that have different numbers of teeth but all have an inter tooth distance (distance between the teeth centres) of 12.7mm?

My attempt at a solution and problems encountered:

I made a bicycle gear by patterning a small circle around a large circle then trimming lines (see attached sketch), but this method requires me to estimate the diameter of the large circle before patterning and then keep modifying this slightly until I get an intertooth distance as close as possible to 12.7mm. So I can't get exactly 12.7mm. In my sketch I have labelled this intertooth distance I refer to by construction lines.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Developing Parametric Spreadsheets To Drive Modelling

Aug 7, 2013

We are a transport engineering firm in Queensland and I would like to develop a spreadsheet that can formulate cross member distances and recalculate to add or remove cross members.

The basis of this is the overall size of the body we are building.

For example: The maximum width of a body in Australia is 2.5metres overall. Our cross members would be 6 mm shorter than the overall width of the body to allow for 3mm end caps to cover the open ends of the cross members. So the length of the cross member is width minus 6, or , parametrically the length is (overall width - (endcap thickness x2))

The body length is the tricky one. We have a maximum spacing on the cross members. This will vary from size of body to size of body. EG the spacing on the small 2 tonne body will be different to the spacing on the 12 tonne body etc. So lets say we want to have maximum spacing of 450mm and a minimu spacing of 300mm between centrelines of the cross members. The overall length of the body will also determine the number of cross members required.

On top of this there is the front and rear coaming to take into consideration.

So the formula would be ((overall length - front coaming - rear coaming) divided by cross member spacing)) then a check to see if the last space is what and then can we change the cross member size to take up that space without going over the maximum space. We would also need to take into account the width of the cross member section as well in this calculation.

EG if we have 150mm left at the end we could increase the cross member centres slightly to take up this additional space without going over the maximum space allowable.

AutoCAD 2010 :: How To Use UCS And Other Modelling Operations

Aug 9, 2012

new to 3D modelling in Autocad. the client has asked me to detail this in about 20 places on a structure. Its an SHS edge beam joining a CHS rafter. Both are at different angles. The CHS has a cleat plate, as does the edge beam. The 2 need to align and connect. The bolt hole must be 40mm off the face of the rafter. The rafter CL & edge beam CL need to coincide at a setting out point.

Where the rafter cleat plate connects to its rafter  it has to be in alignment with the rafters plane.SHS edge beam will need to have its sides vertical and horizontal, so the edge beam cleat won’t be aligned with the SHS faces .

Even though I have the autocad file as an example,  have tried to draw this about 100 times but cant get it right – I have been unable to contact the draftsman who did it. How to draw it and what commands to use?how to use UCS and other modelling operations.

AutoCad :: Drawing A Radio Controlled Scale Model Aircraft

We've been using AutoCad for a while now , I'm just about to embark on a new project which I'm not quite sure on scale.

The aircraft I intended to model has a length of 137ft and wingspan of 140ft. Now I can't build it that big but it will probably be around 5-6ft in length once I settled on the scale I'm going to use. My question is do I draw at its original dimension and scale it in paper space or should I draw it in the size its going to be.

Photoshop :: Retouch Prettty Face Nose

Jun 7, 2004

Somewhere out there is a crack PS CS user who can solve an irritating "nose" problem of a photo I shot nearly twenty years ago. It was one of those outtakes I held on to. Now, with the advent of PS I have taken another look at it. Trouble is, as you have already noticed, is that the model's nostrils are not equal in size. The right one is particularly disturbing. I am thinking a complete reshaping of the lower nose is in order. Trouble is, I have racked my brains trying to get the new look acceptable. My master copy is Tiff and 50MB size.

Photoshop :: Adjusting The Color Of Little Girl's Nose

Anyway, my question is what techniques/tools can I use to get the coloring on her nose to match that of the rest of her face? [she'd been crying ] I thought the 'Healing Brush Tool' might be useful but when I tried that, it didn't go well!

AutoCAD Inventor :: ILogic Design Copy - Error Copying A File / Inventor Crashes

Nov 5, 2013

I'm trying to use iLogic Design Copy to copy an assembly and all its associated parts to another directory. The assembly contains content center parts. Inventor warns me that the destination file of one of the CC parts (and 18 others) will be overwritten. When I go ahead and copy anyway, the copying process stops at that specific CC part. The Design Copy Progress dialog box states there is an error copying that CC part. When I close the Design Copy Progress dialog box, Inventor crashes.

The error copying the CC part: I'm allowed to use content center parts in iLogic Design Copied stuff, right? I searched some related topics and I'm under the impression that Inventor keeps the CC parts in its own directory and shouldn't be trying to overwrite them.
