Photoshop :: CS4 / CS5 (and Other Suite Programs) Freeze Up Continually (OSX)

I've bought the Adobe Web Premium CS4 package a while back (when they just released CS5) and I'm having huge issues now. Basically all my Adobe applications freeze up directly or do so when using them so I'm unable to get any work done.
It used to be sporadically but recently it started happening more often up to the point that I can't start Photoshop, Dreamweaver or Illustrator without it freezing up the after the program is launched, when opening a document or working on an existing document. I've just shot a bunch of photo's at a fundraiser and want to edit the RAW images but both Photoshop and Bridge freeze up when I try to open the photo's.
I'm on a 2010 iMac running OSX 10.7.5 with a 3.2GHz Intel Core i3 and 12GB memory. I realize CS4 on OSX is 32bits but problems with insufficient RAM shouldn't be a problem, I usually have 4-6GB RAM unused.
Using Graphics Suite X5. Windows 7 Spraying images was no problem until I attempted to add my own images. Now when I click on sprayer, the program stops. I get an error message saying some other program is shutting it down.
Yesterday when I was working with Corel Photo Paint X6 and Corel Draw X5 all of a sudden all my desktop program icons changed to show Corel Draw X6 -- also an .ink extension appeared behind all the program names. (this also happened in my "all programs" list.) Everything I click on takes me to Corel Draw X6. get things back to normal?
I've been using these two programs for some time with no problem. I recently upgraded some of my adobe software and now when I try to open CorelDRAW of Photopaint, there is no welcome screen anymore and I can't click on anything.
Is there something conflicting with the welcome screen (flash or something that the welcome screen uses) that perhaps was installed with one of the adobe products, maybe? Not sure if it matters but I updated adobe dreamweaver and fireworks.Both programs are unusable now with this loading problem.
I have had CorelDraw & Photopaint X4 installed for several months and just started having this problem.
CorelDraw: Every time I use the Fill Color option, whether by double-clicking the bucket icon at the bottom OR using the option in the toolbar, the program freezes and never recovers. When I use the color palette to fill a shape, I do not encounter the problem.
PhotoPaint: Every time I use the Image ->Paper Size option, the program freezes and never recovers.
I have reinstalled the program and the problem persists.
These are options I use often, and if I don't find the solution I will have to find an alternative to Corel.
I'm running Photoshop CS3 on a Mac Pro running OS 10.5.4 and it continually crashes, for what I can see as no apparent reason. I've even had PS crash after simply opening an image!
I updated to CS3 at the same time as I updated to Leopard so I can't be sure whether it is CS3 that is more unstable or the latest version of OS X - either way it is absolutely infuriating.
Due to some issues, I was told by HP support to update my display driver. I now have AMD Radeon HD 7950 but since installing this, Photoshop CS5 Extended and 64-bit keep crashing. I'm given the error:
Photoshop CS5 has stopped working
Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled GPU Enhancements. Check the video card manufacturer's website for the latest software.
GPU enhancements can be enabled in the Performance panel of preferences?
Host computer is an Intel Macbook Pro, 2.4G Core 2 duo preocessor, running OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) with a 128GB solid state drive and 8GB of 1067 Mhz DDR3 memory installed.
It happened more than a few times while attempting to merge six Tiff files, each with a file size of almost 12MB. The result was the same even after trying the photomerge with just three of the almost 12MB Tiff files.
I checked preferences to determine what the program's system memory requirements were, but discovered that I could not allocate more than 3GB of memory to PSE; it is recognizing not the 8GB which are installed but only 3GB.
I wasn't able to detect how to include a text file attachment here. Hang reports were saved and can be submitted.
I understand that CS Live is dead, but my Illustrator CS5 seems to be always "phoning home" and making my current document inactive until I click on the Illustrator desktop. This happens any time I pause using Illustrator for just a few minutes. Is this really a CS Live issue?Is there a setting that will keep my open Illustrator document from going inactive on me?
I am having an issue with X6 installed on my laptop. When I try to save, the dialog pops up and flashes at a high rate and seems to be continually re-sizing. The only remedy seems to be to kill the process and lose the work. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium service pack 1 (32-bit) and release 16.2.0.998 of Corel Draw. This is not the demo version, it is a purchased license.
Having issues with Reference Manager - I can't add anything to it as it just goes into "Not Responding" mode and crashes? Is there a recovery/repair option for it?

I have images that I export as a catalog from my notebook and external drive to my desktop . Did this all the time before the release candidate 4.1 without a hint of problems. With 4.1, it crashes 90% of the time....average export/import of a catalog I am running is about 3000 images. What is particularly wierd is that it crashes on multiples of 500. Normally first crash is at 500, the next at 1000 or 1500 and so forth.
download elements 11, but it's not supported. I don't want lightroom...I'm not really sure what my options are- I'm looking for something as recent to elements 11 as i can...
My CS5 shows a less red hue than when I uploaded the jpeg to deviant art. When I set the image to my window's wall paper it also appears more red than is shown in photoshop window. Here's a screen cap of the photoshop window and deviant art upload: URL....
I have PS 6 and LR 4 installed on my desktop. Both have been upgraded several times from prior versions.I have a new Mac laptop. How can I download both programs to my Mac? i have both serial numbers.
Assuming Image Ready would be number one on your list of preferences for animation what else would you all suggest as other programs? Being a beginner I'm interested in animation mainly for making avatars and signature banners to use on my computer forums. Taking in consideration my newbie status and the use I mentioned,
I work for a company that is willing to license Photoshop for a month when big projects come up - but they do not want to purchase a yearly subscription or purchase the whole program. I am creating business cover pages in photoshop - all the images, layout, etc will stay the same. But the text will need to change for each proposal. Is there an easy way to save the image as a PDF & then use another program to change the wording down the line?
I have been having trouble with CS3 programs not loading properly so I went to reinstall in and it will not let me reinstall says that there are component failures.
I'm running CS5.5 student edition on a brand new Asus Q500A laptop running Windows 8. i7 processor and a UMA graphics card. I do not have calibration software; I'm using Calibrize for the moment and colors appear fairly true when browsing after calibration.
My problem is that overall colors in Photoshop appear more saturated than those in regular browser windows, particularly reds. I set up my computer to run the Win8 photos app and my desktop with Photoshop simultaneously and the color difference was immediately noticeable. I did a quick screen grab to show the difference; the inset photo is the one viewed in Win8's photos app, and the background is the exact same photo open in Photoshop.
This is the second install of this program. I originally installed it on a Dell Inspiron with a DuoCore processor (way out of spec, I know - that's why I upgraded!) and I seem to remember having this issue then, too. I found a way to correct it, but I don't remember how I fixed it and Photoshop is no longer on that machine so I can't look over my settings.
I had desktop icon and shortcut error messages so I reinstalled photoshop cs3 and not all of the programs associated with photoshop have reappeared. I then deactivated photoshop, uninstalled it, went to photoshop folders and manually deleted as much as I could find, reinstalled it and again the same thing.
I am wondering if my Adobe programs, such as PS, Elements & Lightroom will properly migrate to my new computer using Time Machine?Or will I need to find the original installation disks (recently moved & can't find the PS one, and LR & Elements I loaded online)?
I just bought 2 software licenses (for Illustrator CS6 and Photoshop CS6), but I can't find on adobe website where to download Illustrator CS6 and Photoshop CS6, I just find CC versions, but my serial numbers don't work for CC versions.
I'm having a bit of trouble with Photoshop. Colors are displayed differently, than in other programs (Paint, Firefox etc...), which makes it impossible for me to design anything. I tried restoring my settings by holding Ctrl + Alt + Shift on start up and it's still the same. I also tried re-installing Photoshop.
I am using CS6 and doing various editing on photos. They are raw files initially and once I am finished with the editing and flattening I save them as .png files. The photos look great when I view them in photoshop yet when I look at them in Bridge or other programs (Windows), they look grainy and the colors appear muted.
That website doesn't work. I have the CS6 web & design premium, I had installed it into my last mac book that had a disc drive but it's no longer working. I got a new mac book and have found no answers as how to install my programs. I keep getting loop holes.
I have been using PS CS 5 for the past couple years- and I have it set so that the background is transparent- and I can see the folders I'm working from behind the images I'm working on.
Working with the grey background makes me feel like I'm working in a dark cave... How do I turn off the background color (I can see where to change it- but not turn it off...)
I have had a bunch of pictures of my daughters wedding emailed to me but I can't figure out how to import them to either Photoshop 7, or Photoshop album starter 3.2.
