I have Revit MEP 2012 and created a small guest house in this program. I wanted to add some features using Revit Architecture 2011that are not available in the MEP program. When I tried to bring the files up in the Revit architecture program I get an error message that the drawing was created in a later version of Revit. Is there any way to save the MEP file back to an earlier version of Revit like one could do with Autocad drawings?
It seems that even when the document was from a 2010 version, if I open it, and save it, it automatically saves it to the 2014 version cad.Is there a setting on Autocad LT 2014 that allows me to automatically save to an earlier version of CAD (2010) instead of the 2014 whenever I hit SAVE.
How do you save down to earlier version? It doesn't let me when I do a save as and click on version I want. Just gives me an error message and shuts autocad down.
I have to save 2011 drawing down to autocad 2004. I sure hope its possible. It always has been with earlier versions.
Having trouble with AutoCAD 2012 when saving to earlier versions? I can't save it down to any other version except for 2012, without the system crashing completely.
Also, from time to time we get the crash when editing MText.
I am using Autocad LT 2012 on Windows XP at my office computer. I Save a file in an earlier version e.g. 2004 or 2007 and email to home computer, Autocad LT 2008 on Windows Vista. The file will not open. Message is that the file has been created by a later version. THis has not been my experience with earlier versions.
I am currently using autocad 2002. An engineering firm has sent me a dwg file that was created using a much newer version of autocad. I asked them to save it back to version 2000, so I can open it. Well, I can open the file, but I'm getting this command "ARXERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass.. whenever I do a basic command??
Now I have gotten dwg files from other firms, and they have worked flawlessly. Would it be how this particular firm has saved the file?
I have tried to open a new drawing, and xref this drawing into it, but all the linework does not show up?

I installed Photoshop CS6 - 64 bit, but Bridge keeps opening up photos in my CS5 that is still on my computer. How do I change this so that it will open the photos in Photoshop CS6?
using AutoCAD '10. I have a free trial of 2013 to preview before buying and I'm doing some freelance work with an opportunity to be hired full time. The comany I am working for has a pen set that they sent to me in an e-mail. In order to send PDF's of my work back I must use this pen set. The pen files are from an earlier version of AutoCAD- 2007 and are attachments in an e-mail.
Autodesk should provide an easy way to save drawings back to an earlier product release, like an online converter utility for clients etc... I understand that people need to be pushed to get newer products, however by not having an easy way to change a file, it really punishes those who do stay current and get each release. For many years now I find myself drafing in a current release of Civil3d to utilize the latest features that improve work flow, then having to waste a lot of time converting projects back to each clients file requirement.
Im currently using Autocad 2008 and am in the process of creating blocks for a friend who is using 2005, i have loads that need converting or writing so that they can be opened in 2005.
How can I back save illustrator files created in CC (CS7 version???) to CS6 without losing layers? when I open the files in CS6 it says "some info will be lost' Ha! all layers and separation is lost, so cannot separate parts whole file seems grouped and cannot be separated? When I go back to my (other) computer where I was foolish enough to upgrade to CC, way to save back as I can with InDesign and saving as a idml file.
After saving a file as, say, an 8x10 @ 240 resolution, I want to save the image as a 4x5 @72 resolution in a different file that I can give to someone on a CD. However, the new file seems to retain the 240 resolution at a dramatically reduced size so the CD gets a too-small image (and the recipient doesn't have the software to gross it back up to a 4x5).
I assume this has something to do with cache, which I've tried purging generally and also for the individual file. I have CS6 on a Mac Pro with ample disk space and auxiliary drives to store old files, also with plenty of spare space.
I changed the configuration in Tools/Options/Open and Save/File Save, to save as Autocad2004/LT2004 Drawing (*.dwg). But sometimes automatically the program saves as Autocad2013. It is critical for me because I work with people that still use Autocad2004.
I use a machine called a shopbot to cut wood projects. Students draw the parts in Inventor, place them into a idw and use the save copy feature to save it as a DXF file. The shopbot uses a progam called partworks v2 and it reads DXF files. This worked great for the past few years until this summer when we installed the 2013 inventor on our computers. I contacted Shopbot and they said other people are having the same problem and the solution for most of them was to save the idw file as an older version. Last year we had AutoDesk 2011 and it worked fine. how I can save a 2013 idw as a 2011 idw?
I'm having a problem with the files saved from Inventor, regardless of type. I have no problem saving new files or opening files, however, any time I try and save changes to a file, inventor crashes. Also if I try and move a file, windowes explorere gets stuck at "descovering items." Renaming a file crahses explorer.
I would like to save my inventor Part and Assembly model file in a lower version. Like in our company we use both Inventor 2012 and 2010. Once the file is created in 2012 and when shared to 2010 users they are unable to open, is there any possiblities to open 2012 files 2010 like how we do in Autocad.
i am trying to open a revit 2012 file in to revit 2013 but it is showing me an error thar says: There is a circular chain of references among the highlighted elements. and then this message: Data in this file is currupt and needs to be manually recoverd. but I can perfectly open the same file in revit 2012..
I'm working in Revit 2012. Everytime I save my file it just sits there and thinks. When CTRL-ALT-DEL revit is not responding so I have to end task. The file is not of abnormal size and has been functioning fine until today. I haven't done or made anything in revit out of the ordinary. When I re-open the file I get a "seek failed" message. I open the backup file just fine, but again, cannot save it without it locking up on me again. I have audited and purged. I have copied and saved a new file under a different name.
Been working on a file with a few layers, then the power goes out so my computer "crashes". When I reboot my computer, I am unable to open the file I was working on earlier and instead, get the message "Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document." The file is still .psd and I don't have a preview for the file anymore:
Iam worked at a workshop that we cut and engrave metals sheets like stainless steel and copper and am using corel draw X5 for editing , drawing and exporting cut orders to cutting machine .
I exchange cdr files with other workshops around me that they use earlier versions of corel draw like ver 11. Did theirs a way that i can save all cdr files in corel draw X5 in ver 11 with out choosing in every time i save the file version option ?
Saving edited pictures in PSE 12. Despite ticking the version set box the picture is saved a separate edited print and not in a version set. This has just started to happen, until two days ago prints were saved in a version set quite satisfactorily.
I am working with Illustrator CS6 and when I save a file to an earlier version - CS3 or CS - that has a drop shadow effect, the effect gets rasterized. Drop shadows are not new to this latest version of Illustrator so shouldn't they still be editable when saving to a version above CS?
I exported an image from LightRoom to Photoshop to edit it. After saving it in Photoshop and closing, I went back to LightRoom and couldn't find it anywhere. Usually it's in the same folder as the original. I also can't find it anywhere on my hard drive or in recent files in Photoshop. I know it saved it because it was a huge file and I had to wait for it to save before photoshop would close.
I recently upgradedfrom "Elements 2" to Version 11. I previously saved all my edited work in JPEG format and to the "My Pictures" folder. I was then able to open all modified photos and share them with another computer without resorting to any specialised program. I wish to continue to do the same using Version 11. Having made several attempts without success to save modified photos using my well tried and successful method and having read the Manual to see why the process is not successful with Version 11 I am now exteremely frustrated. Each attempt to save a modified photo results in a Thumbnail icon being loaded into the "My Pictures" folder with the elements 11 logo. I then are only able to open the photo (which incidently does not carry the modified file name from the original) by way of the elements 11 program.
