Revit :: Creating Opening For A Window?
Aug 4, 2011I created this little building with a pitched roof. at the 1st level I had no problems putting in openings for windows and doors, but now i created the roof and I want to put in window at front and back of the building and the window shows only up when I hold the cursor over it. what step am i missing? At one point i also got the message "rectangular opening does not cut its host"

View 5 Replies View RelatedPaint Shop Pro :: Manage Tab Preview Window Incorrectly Displaying
May 27, 2013I am using Paint Shop Pro X5 Ultimate.The Preview Window of the Manage Tab seemed to be displaying photos oddly - the photo wasn't filling the preview window (it was leaving an area around the bottom and right-hand side of the photo). At first I thought it was just the zoom setting, so I zoomed in. However, I have now used several features of the software that seem to show that the Preview Window (only on the Manage Tab) is incorrectly displaying the preview.
The problem became further evident when I used the Find People feature of Paint Shop Pro to locate the faces and tag several people, however the position of the tags are as if the Preview Window is filled by the photo. I have attached a screenshot that shows that the tag for the person in the bottom right-hand corner of the photo has her tag positioned off the photo (outside of the border of the photo) to the bottom and right of the photo even though it was automatically placed by the software. The position of the tags for the people in the photo are all offset slightly to the right and down and would be correct only if the photo was displaying correctly in the Preview Window.
I have tested uploading the photos to Facebook and the tags appear correctly once on Facebook. If I manually tag the faces as they appear on the Preview Window, the tags are incorrectly placed once the photo has been uploaded to Facebook (they appear up and to the left of where the face is positioned in the photo.
I have tried resetting the preferences and turning off some display features of Microsoft Windows, but I have seen to changes in the Preview Window.
Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?) The example photo was taken in .jpg format using a Nikon D3100 and 18-200mm Nikon DX lens, though this affects my entire photo collection taken on several different cameras and in several different formats (including RAW).
What devices are involved and their mode of connection? The files were transferred directly from the camera to the computer using a USB cable. Project Properties:I was using the Manage tab to sort photos and tag people using the Find People feature and also tried manually tagging faces.
Revit :: Material Colours Not Appearing In Renders In Cloud
Feb 21, 2013i'm quite new to revit and am having issues with renderings in cloud, my computer is too slow to do this directly in revit. the colours and materials that i have assigned to cladding panels just comes out as grey. Unistalling, reinstalling materials library....changing the settings in 'material editor'....
incidentally when i do a draft render on my computer to 'screen' or 'printer' it shows the correct colours.
Revit :: Window Frame Depth Changes When Modifying Window Family
Sep 14, 2013I modified a Window Family file by adding a Window inset parameter. When I inserted the window into a wall, otherwise the window worked fine, but when I changed the window's Window Inset value, the frame depth changed instead of the frame's location. The frame was originally made by Sweep tool, but now when I made it by Extrusion tool, the window works fine. Anyway, for future purposes, I would like to know how to be able to use the Window Inset parameter with a frame made by Sweep tool. How do I lock the depth of the frame sweep?

Photoshop :: Keep From Switching To Window While Opening Many Files?
Feb 7, 2013I'm currently using Photoshop to stitch together many images at once, so I often open 6+ images at once. As it takes a little while for Photoshop to open all these images, I would like to use another application (web browsing, typing in a document, etc.) while Photoshop is loading.
However, every time Photoshop opens a new image, the computer switches back to the Photoshop window, making it very difficult to use some other application. Is there a way to disable this switching, either in the OS or Photoshop? I'm currently running Win7 64-bit and Photoshop CS5 Extended 64-bit.
Photoshop :: Opening Images - Window Is Not Big Enough To Show It All?
Nov 8, 2013When I open a picture in photoshop, the window is not big enough to show it all. When I drag it to my retina monitor on my laptop, it scales down. Why can't adobe figure this stuff out? It used to be that your image would open as large as possible on your monitor, and would show the entire image.
If it was larger than your monitor could display, it would scale it to 66.7% or 25% etc so it would fit. I liked that better than this way - now you just see the top corner of your image and have to drag the window larger to see it.
Photoshop :: Opening Image Files In Their Own Window
Dec 9, 2008Before PS4, I could open image files in their own windows. In PS4, when I want to open more than one file, these open with tabs and any new file I open is added to the tab queue. It is annoying to right click on each tab so each file is in its own window. Is there a universal preference to change this annoying behavior?

Illustrator :: AI Document Is Opening With A Blank Window?
Jun 14, 2012I have a customer that sent me some Illustrator files (.ai) that, when I open them, they open with just a blank window and a box with no fill or stroke around the outside of the document. I am using Illustrator CS4 and I suspect this may be an Illustrator CS6 document but I didn't get any warnings when I opened it so I'm not sure. (I also don't know what version of Illustrator the original creator is using). The document sizes are large (35MB +) so there should be SOME content in them. I've tried making sure nothing is hidden and there are no layers that are turned off. I've also tried opening the files in Acrobat CS4 with no luck.

Jul 15, 2012It happens both by dragging the file into the icon, AND opening up with control click, so i am getting this tiny window.
Of course I can enlarge by numerous command +, or magnify tool, but the idea would be to be able to open it up at a reasonable size.
The worst is when by enlarging, sometimes it turns into a rectangulAR stripe, and I have to enlarge it by pulling the bottom corner.
This happened in the past with different computers and different OS< so the fact that I have the latest Lion is not part of the issue, I hope.

The former window I can move & all following windows will open in new position.The latter I can move but next image always opens centrally again. Any way to make "File info" window open off to one side?

Aug 21, 2009I just began having problems with Photoshop today. I wanted to apply Blending Options to a layer. The Layer Style window opened but it was nowhere to be found! Because I could not access this window to either perform a task or close it, I had to Control/Alt/Delete because nothing else in the program would work. Obviously, it was waiting for a response to the window but as I couldn't see it, I couldn't access it. I've never had this problem before and I've just spent four hours trying to find the problem, including messing with screen resolutions and monitor designations (I use a laptop with a flat screen as #2 monitor). Mar 5, 2014When I double-click an AI-file to open it, Illustrator resize/minimize it's own window. Sometime so much that Illustrator itself reply with the error: "Can't open the Illustration. There is not enough room for the window; Increase document area and try again."
If I open a file (browse for it) from within Illustrator it works fine and Illustrator keeps whatever windows-size I have chosen.

The problem I have is that I have an IF statement to trigger an generic error message when these two rare conditions are met. I would rather a pop up window explaining what thy can not do. "Position of legs from ends can not equal half total length" and an OK button.

Oct 15, 2013I'm a relatively new user to Revit (almost a year). My issue is that all of a sudden my view control bar is located so far to the left in the view window, the project browser almost covers it. I know that I can move the project browser window so that isn't all that critical. My concern is that when I want to look at a schedule it also is so far to the left of the screen I have to move the other windows to see it.

The numbering (marks) have been assigned as I created each one.
I would now like to add a prefix to the mark in the form of:
W0/01, W0/02, W0/03 etc. for ground floor windows then:
W1/01, W1/02 ... etc for first floor.
If it is not possible to break down by floor, then simply having a prefix W/01, W/02, W/03 etc. would work.
I can alter individual window types and amend the Mark to include the prefix, but it only seems to affect the one window - and not all instances of the same type.
Ideally - is it possible to set a standard prefix for use in window Marks throughout a project, regardless of type and whether it has already been inserted or in the future ?
