View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to turn my in-place mass walls (sloped or helical) to structural walls but i don't know how to do it. I'm able to do the walls but when i switch it to the analytical view the wall doesn't appear because it's not structural. It's there a way to do in-place mass structural walls.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to dimension between the face of a wall and non parallel wall opposite it. The non parallel wall turns a 90 degree corner, and it is at this corner that I want to measure perpendicular to my first wall.
1. Is there a way to dimension between non-parallel walls? When you place the dimension you click on the wall at the location you want to dimension, so I don't see why Revit can't place the dimension at that point. That dimension would be particular to that one point along the non-parallel wall.
2. I got around this by placing a reference plane and dimensioning to that, but I'd rather not do this because then if I hide the reference plane, my dimension disappears.
Is there another work around or am I missing a tool I don't know about?
I am having a nagging problem related to window and door cleanups in walls. Certain walls seem to lose the opening for a window or door. Sometimes, disconnecting a wall from another at a T or L insection clears the problem, but when they meet again, the all openings in that wall disappear. It looks fine in plan view, but 3d aspects of the wall are affected. This problem is also inconsistant. Quite frustrating. I've a attached a series of jpegs that illustrate a current issue.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a model with 5 reference drawings. Everything has been going fine. I am making modifications in 2d wireframe view Then I change to realistic view and conceptual view and see that half of my windows have disappeared and some doors. I open up the first floor plan and see that most of my windows, doors, and openings are not cutting the walls. It just happened and now I cannot get them to anchor in the wall.I did purge, -purge R, audit, recover and closed and reopened the program. No Change! What could have caused all of these objects to lose their anchor?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am opening a file from 2004 and I am using AutoCAD Arch 2012. When I open the file everything is there, but the doors do not cut through the walls. The doors are still there but are not "anchored". Is there a way to fix this easily? I also lost everything out of my door schedule. I know I will get my schedule back when the doors get anchored back to the wall.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI modified a Window Family file by adding a Window inset parameter. When I inserted the window into a wall, otherwise the window worked fine, but when I changed the window's Window Inset value, the frame depth changed instead of the frame's location. The frame was originally made by Sweep tool, but now when I made it by Extrusion tool, the window works fine. Anyway, for future purposes, I would like to know how to be able to use the Window Inset parameter with a frame made by Sweep tool. How do I lock the depth of the frame sweep?
The file is attached.
I'm at my wits end trying to cut a wall with a void. I want to chamfer the corners of a wall, but I can't get even a basic void to cut from a wall. I get the error : "This Mass has no solid geometry for its Void Forms to cut. They must be deleted, or solid geometry added and cut." They clearly intersect, what am I doing wrong?

I have tried attaching top base etc. but its not working. I only seem to be able to select one side of the roof when selecting where to attach the walls. I have attached 3d pics showing the walls that are extruding & also one of the walls that I am trying to attach.
Just what the title says. Walls dont appear when drawing in plan view but appear in the 3d view. how come??
View 1 Replies View RelatedI drew some internal walls before adding a floor slab. After adding the floor slab the walls disappeared in plan. I can see them in 3D, in the correct place, but not in plan.
The floor slab is in the right position. To fix the problem I redrew them all, but why did they disappear and how do I prevent it from happening again?

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhy my existing walls show up fine in my sheet but don't plot to .pdf. I have the view range settings set correctly and all other sheets plot fine.
I thought maybe the roof transparency was the issue but Revit is usually pretty much a WYSIWYG plotting operation and the walls are displaying in the sheet file. Haven't tried plotting to a plotter but it doesn't matter. I need to plot .pdf's.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have one wall (basic wall) where !'ve edited to profile to have a large rectagle omitted. I have a second wall (curtain wall) that needs to occupy that space with a 1/2" gap on either side and a 1" gap along the top. I can maintain the gap along the top, but when the gaps along the sides shrinks below 1", the walls meet and the gap is reduced to zero. I've tried making the internal wall into a group, but whenever the outer wall's profile is edited to within 1/2", And I click the Finish button, the interior wall (inside the group) extends to meet it. Automatically Embed is turned off for the curtain wall. I've tried locked dimensions, but that didn't seem to work.
How I can maintain the gap without the walls closing?

I cannot seem to manage drywall alone. If I create a ceiling with 2x4 core and drywall finish and create a ceiling over the whole area the ceiling seems to auto dim to the ceiling finish and not the core 2x4. Then there is the issue of the clean up at the top plate were the wall and ceiling finishes meet
