Photoshop :: Path Transparent At Ends

Oct 17, 2013

Ok, its really hard to describe this in words, so here is a picture!

So this is just a normal path that I hit the stroke button on.  The problem is, it goes from lighter to darker at either end of the path.  This may look good now, but I don't want it!  I want it to be the same opacity/transparency all the way through the path stroke.

I'm sure I just have some weird box checked.

Photoshop :: Line With Faded Ends

Oct 24, 2007

I've been trying to make lines like these to no luck:

I'm aware this can be achieved with the pen tool. Path stroked with a brush with some settings altered. Most likely Fade.

This is where I am so far:

Problems:
I cant get BOTH ends to fade.
A long path wont get fully stroked since the fade happens too soon.

Photoshop :: Large Still Panorama In CS6 Video Clipped On Ends

Aug 7, 2013

Windows 7  and PS CS6.  I am trying to use the motion effect "PAN"  in PS CS6 but the image is large.  7364 x 1080.  It pans but clips the ends.  The image in the timeline has a slider at the bottom, I take that to mean the image is to wide for the video frame.  How can I use the pan effect in PS cs6 to pan a large panorama ??  I tried splitting the image but the seperate images are not a smooth single image.

initial image was 1.93 gigs as a 16 bit tiff,  converted to jpeg 7364 x 1080.

Photoshop :: How To Create A Brush Stroke With Point On Both Ends

Aug 2, 2012

how to create a brush stroke with a point on both ends? It's fairy easy to create a stroke with a point on the front end using the Shape Dynamics, but how do I create a point on the tail end as well? I have a Wacom pen and even the sensitivity function on it can't get a point on both ends no matter how sensitive I draw a quick stroke.

The stroke on the right is the typical brush stroke I get when playing with the "shape dynamics" to get a point on my stroke.  The stroke on the left is one I rendered to display how I'd like my strokes to look.

Photoshop :: Monochrome Curve Layer / Flipping Scale Ends

Feb 13, 2013

On PS CS6 Extended 64 & 32 bit I noticed the gray scale ends of the curve in monochrome images is, to my mind, flipped. I understand some of the historic reasons for this, but I though I had found a preference somewhere or flipped the ends in previous versions. It has been a while. My most current version previously was CS2.

I'm also looking for, and will post separately, something akin to the Photo bars add on from Extensis. I still can't believe how backward the Adobe development team appear to be in terms of interface usability design. There are many multi-click patterns I use repeatedly and something like Photobars, even an add-on would be acceptable.

Photoshop :: Soft Edges

Jan 11, 2009

I'm trying to create a collage, will be my 10th high school anniversary soon and I really want to do this calmly before hand *ie. not in a rush as i do everything else*

the thing is i like this type of blending: photo blending type on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

but can't seem to replicate it with my own photos. I've tried reading up on various tutorials all over the net but most usually say to either use a soft eraser or vignette effect and i don't think the latter was used here and i tried the eraser and that just turned out ugly! Anyone with any suggestions on how to replicate this blending type ....

Photoshop :: Soft Proof Set Up?

Dec 4, 2008

I'm having with profiling my monitor/printer. I use an i1 Proof which includes the ability to profile my printer but my printer at the moment is a small Epson desktop printer - R220. "Near-as-damn_it" is my usual standard and suits me for general photography. At the moment I am photographing paintings with more exacting standards for reproduction.

I callibrate both monitor and printer. I have read and re-read instructions and use genuine paper/ink. My prints are appear a little darker than my monitor and in fact, the original painting. So can Soft proofing give an idea of the accuracy of the profile? (that's my main question).

Here are my settings

Device to simulate - myPrinterPaperProfile
Preserve RGB numbers - Not checked
REndering Intent - Perceptual
Black Point Compensation - checked
Simulate Paper - checked (which also auto checks the simulate black ink option)

Now, if that's my sofr proof setting and I toggle ctrl-y I am flipping between an impression of my printer profile and the actual display profile - is that correct? If I could put a screen shot of the two on the web,

Paint.NET :: How Do Fade Out Ends Of Image

Aug 26, 2012

I want to know how to fade something out. Like how the gradient tool works, but instead of a color, I just want it to be from background to transparent.

Lets say I have a line as my image, and that's all that's there. The background is transparent (no white background, in the program it's displayed as a white/gray grid of small blocks)
___________________

Theres my line. It's nice but I want the ends to smoothly fade out into the transparency. Like this

....,,,,________________,,,,....

I know that's a bad example, but where the line is full and thick is where it is just that. Full, thick, it's the line! But then the comma's, say thats where it starts to fade, by the end of the comma's, the line is 50% transparent. By time it hits the periods its faded by a lot, and goes from 50% transparent, to completely transparent.

I hope you understand what I'm talking about. And for actual use, I wont be fading a straight line. More a a curved design that I've cropped and want to have fade out on the ends.

Illustrator :: How To Slant The Ends Of The Lines All At Once

May 28, 2012

I'm using Illustrator CS5 - I've been trying to figure out a way to slant the ends of the lines all at once, or to create them to begin with.  I've searched for a method to do this until my eyes gave out (including youtube how to's).  What I've been doing is creating the lines, drawing guides, expanding the lines, then dragging each endcap anchor point to intersect with the guide and this is taking a bit longer than I would like.  Is there a quicker way to get the lines in the top image to look like those in the bottom image? specifically the slant on the endcaps?

Photoshop :: How To Keep Soft Edges When Cutting From Jpg ?

Jul 5, 2007

I've got this .jpg picture which I derived from one japanese game.

It shows a character in color at the left and its borders at the right. It also have a nasty white background.
What I want to achieve is to get rid of background , making it transparent, while keeping the colored character AND not harming its soft edges. The final file should be .png
I wonder if it's possible and how. My previous attempts were fruitless, as everytime I ended bluring the edges manually.

Photoshop :: Soft Colors And Contrast

Aug 15, 2006

I came across this forum as I was browsing various techniques on how I can improve and I very much tried to duplicate the colors/tone/atmosphere of this photo:

I don't know how to quite explain it or if I am using the right terms, but you can notice that the overall tone and color of the photo is somewhat washed out? Like the colors are a bit muted and soft but not too extremely so. And yet none of the picture loses its crispness. The colors look soft? I don't know how to quite explain it articulately.

I first tried to make a duplicate layer and then blurred it, and then proceeded to reduce its opacity, but that just made everything look "glowy", like something from heaven.

CorelDRAW X5 :: Resampling Size And DPI Ends Up Blurry?

May 15, 2013

Everytime I Resample pictures that are big in size, and resolution, and I reduce the resolution and the size, the end result is always blurry. (doesn't matter if I use Draw or Paint)

- image is 39.4"w by 29.556"h @ 72 DPI, RGB, JPG (when opened in Paint or imported into Draw)

- I want it to be .976"w by .736"h @ 300 DPI ... yes alot smaller

Ultimately, once at the small size, I need to take all artwork (bitmaps, text etc) and make one 300 DPI bitmap to be run on the press.

I have tried ...

- Resampling the original sized image, that is 72 DPI, into 300 DPI and then Resampling the size from there and end up with Blurry (left on Anti-Alias and Maintain aspect ratio)

- Resampling size and DPI, in one step, and end up with Blurry (left on Anti-Alias and Maintain aspect ratio)

- made the image proportionately smaller (now DPI is 2,089) and then Convert into 300 DPI image, and end up with Blurry

AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Shorten Shaft By Using Ends

Feb 28, 2012

I am using the design accelerator to create a shaft with multiple features. Works well. This shaft is 90"+ in length and although I realize we create in full scale, having it display into my drawing in full scale is unnecessary because one diameter is nearly 60" long. As such I would like to shorten it by using a shaft end, but cannot figure how to do it.

Just to be clear, by shaft end (term used in Mechanical) I refer to the squiggly lines that basically fudge the OAL of a component.
