Dec 28, 2013Why don't my photos have strong enough resolution to be printed? Even 4x6. I'm shooting with Canon70d. Would this be corrected by a setting on my camera, or is there an option in Lightroom that will allow me to resize my image in order to print a crisp and clear 8x10.

Aug 1, 2013I have in the homepage of themes portfolio, thumbnails which after a lot of pixel adjusting have become perfect for fitting the featured image, but the problem is in when you go the blog section, the thumbnails there are big size and the featured image in not fitting in the box correctly no matter what i do. .the only way i can fit the photo in the box is by enlarging the actual canvas of the photo (which is not professional), and then i would have a problem with the thumbnails in the homepage. Again i tried to match the size proportions of the big thumbnails in the blog to match the ones in the homepage, but with no success.

May 13, 2009When I "Get Photos" from a camera and choose to rename them (with "Name" + 001 option), they are acquired and renamed in no particular order and occasionally have the incorrect date.For example, I took 5 photos on 2/21, 4 photos on 2/22, and 3 photos on 2/23 (today). When I imported them into Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 and sort them by date, the filename numbers are in an almost random order, e.g. 2009Feb018, then 2009Feb002, then 2009Feb012 are the names of 3 photos taken within minutes of each other.In addition two of the 4 photos taken 2/22 show a date of 2/21.When I download photos from my camera to Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2, how do I get them to download in chronological order?

My customers need to locate their photos with minimal effort. Is there a way to set the program to accomplish this?

Lightroom :: 4.1 - How To Add Border Around Images Posted To Facebook
Jun 10, 2012I am using LR 4.1, also usis PS CS5.
Any user who uses Facebook to showcase image galleries knows that Facebook changes how images are displayed from time to time. One month it will be on a black background and the next on a white background. And then they put overlay's on top of your images and they change things around whenever they wish. There is not rock solid consistency from Facebook on how they display your images across devices or over time.
What I am trying to do is to add some consistency to how my images are displayed by adding my own border to my images.
Ideally, I would want Lightroom to add a border for me based on some setting under the export manager. But as far I know there is no setting to do this? (Why doesn't lightroom have any border options anywhere yet for anything it exports? This would be relatively simple I think.)
Here is the only way I know how to solve my issue.
First, my other considerations: I want to keep my original images in my catalog in tact and as is w/o a border and with layers if it is a .psd file. I do NOT want to destructively add a border to the catalog images, only the images that end up on Facebook. I also want to add my watermark image to the final image so that it is done as the last step so that the bottom part of my watermark shows my web site address over the white border on the bottom of the image. Using a droplet and the watermark in the same step does not work properly because it applies the watermark before it runs the action, not after.
I have created an action to add a x pixel white border by: Merging (flatten) all layersCreating a new unlocked background "image" layerExpanding the canvas by x pixels.Creating a new white filled layer and moving it to the bottom of the layer's pallet.Adding a 2 pixel black inside stroke to my image layer and adding a drop shadow. I created a droplet from this action and put it in the droplet folder for LR.
Now for the repeated steps that I am going through...
Select the images that I want to write to Facebook.Export these images to a new folder using the droplet.Import the folder of all of these images back into Lightroom.Move the new images with borders on them into the correct LR FB publish service.Publish the photos using the sharpening and watermark settings.Delete the .psd files created in Step #2.
The steps that I would like to avoid are #2, #3, #6

Mar 4, 2009I've taken a large quantity of digital photos during the rare snow we had this year. Am new at digital and unfortunately I took at too great of a resolution for what I want to do with them.
I am making GIF backgrounds for PPT, and some grouping will have as many as sixty pics in them. But the file sizes are HUGE (my goof) and GIF animators can't handle them.
Is there any way to compress batches of photos all at once? (Can't find that on the Batch command unfortunately) Resizing them one by one is laborious, even using hotkeys. Time is an issue.

It has 17 photos in it in jpeg format If I go on to the destination folder and select one, It tells me I need to select a folder!! Both folders are on the desktop. I am using a Mac 10.6

I thought I might be able to import them all into Photoshop, resize them to fit the canvas.... center them all, one by one (not all photos are centered, this is my other issue) and then save them all at once. I have done all the above but cant figure out how to save each layer, as their respective layer name (ie. default photo name) with out flattening the layer and manually saving each one, one by one.
how to save as it wasnt a recorded action since all photos had some individual tweaking to center them on the canvas after I did a group (transform) resize.

Sep 16, 2013I have several hundred small portrait photos of different size that I need to resize to a 120 x 120 pixels size. Currently they are not 1:1. I've previously used Picasa to resize images manually, and this gives me the opportunity of easily crop and resize so that the face is not cut or looks too small. But I need to do this in a batch since I have a huge amount of pictures. So far I haven't been able to figure out if Photoshop can detect the face automatically and crop/resize around it. The batch processes I have tried to create end up with the face/head being cut on several pictures.
I'm using Photoshop CC.

May 26, 2011I have photos that are about 19 MB and wish to send them to a website that says the photos can be a maximum of 100 KB. I went to image and resize and decreased the PIXEL numbers ( the only way I figured out to move the size numbers down. When the top number showed 99 KB I saved it.
The problem is when I saved it to my flash drive and desktop and clicked on properties, the size was 18 KB, not 100 KB. And the image was a tiny one in the middle of my screen, not a full page like it was before. It is too small to use.
Why did the size say 99 KB in paint.net but 18 KB on my desktop and flashdrive? How do I re-size a photo to 100 KB and know that is what I am getting before I save?
