Photoshop :: Get Photos In Chronological Order - PS...
May 13, 2009
When I "Get Photos" from a camera and choose to rename them (with "Name" + 001 option), they are acquired and renamed in no particular order and occasionally have the incorrect date. For example, I took 5 photos on 2/21, 4 photos on 2/22, and 3 photos on 2/23 (today). When I imported them into Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 and sort them by date, the filename numbers are in an almost random order, e.g. 2009Feb018, then 2009Feb002, then 2009Feb012 are the names of 3 photos taken within minutes of each other. In addition two of the 4 photos taken 2/22 show a date of 2/21.When I download photos from my camera to Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2, how do I get them to download in chronological order?
Haven't used Elements in awhile, and actually, the chronological order was never a big deal. For this vacation, I really want them in the order taken by date because I used two different cameras.
When I import new photos in the catalog, it reverses the chronological order in which they were taken - i.e., for photos taken on the same day, it would show the latest first.I don't think I changed any settings regarding the importing of photos in the catalog.
I have scanned and downloaded 400 items in chronological order. When I upload them to DVD they are in random order. How can I maintain chronological order?
I just changed the dates on 2 of my photos and noticed that the 2 pictures do not re-order themselves in the correct date sequence.
The 2 photos are dated Oct 14, 1983. However they appear between my Oct 16 and Oct 15 photos. I have other photos dated Oct 14 that do correctly appear before the Oct 15 photos.
Why would these 2 photos be separated from the other Oct 14 photos?
I've run Lightroom from the beginning and love it. For some reason, I developed multiple catalogs. I remedied that today with a master catalog which seems to have worked fine with one exception: On my hard disk my photos are arranged in Date Folders as subject subfolders. (e.g., 2010>familytrip20091225>email [or Phanfare, or black/white, etc.]) Now, however, the folders are gone and everything arranged alphabetically by first subfolder order (in the foregoing example, familytrip20091225 would fall under "f" rather than as a subfolder under 2010. The folder 2010 does not appear.
I have more than 10,000 pictures in this catalog and hunting for them this way is counter productive.chronological.I run LR4.1 in Windows 7 on a new HP desktop with plenty of RAM and memory.
When I upload new photos to an existing album they displayed after existing photos. I need new photos to be displayed before existing photos. It is in the nature of the work that I do. My customers need to locate their photos with minimal effort. Is there a way to set the program to accomplish this?
Using PSE 11. I am trying to sort my photos in order Newest first. I select Sort by: Newest and they are sorted in newest DATE order but within each date they are sorted on oldest time order, which seems odd... how can I get PSE to sort so that Newest is based on date and time?
I have been trying to copy an album in Elements 8 to a DVD, but I cannot find a way to keep thim in the order that I have arranged them in the album. What is the correct procedure? It's a Windows 7 system.
Also, is there a way to create the DVD so it can be played on a TV DVD player?
I am new to LR 3 , after downloading photo's from 3 CF cards from a wedding then editing I put chosen best shots into a smart collection and all seemed in order numbers wise etc, when I burnt to a disc they are now not in order of the days event, how can I make sure they are of the following : -
1 - All the same size photo's ready to be printed or put in an album. 2 - How can I make sure the order in which I see them in the library smart collection is burnt in the same order onto a disc, as I have burnt from library and they are all out of order of the wedding event when looked at on the disc !!
I'm wanting to create a photobook of the last few years and need to order my photos by the date I took them. I am looking at all my photos in the Libaray but they are not in order of the date I took them. I presume it's under Library filters somewhere but I can't find it. I've checked date under attribute but they're not right.
my photo's are in numbered order in the library but when burned to disc are all random, they have been edited from 3 cards and saved as a smart colllection, how can I get them to burn in order as library shows them !
Here I have several concentric squares in an uninterrupted stack.I moved the topmost (small orange) one vertically.I then went to the Alignment panel, selected all the squares and clicked on the one I moved. Then I clicked on Vertical Distribute Center.
The right hand picture shows what happened. One of the squares (that big orange one) near the bottom of the stack shot up so that its centre was above the centre of the topmost one in the stack. The centres are evenly distributed but why is the stacking order not controlling the order in which the squares are arranged?
Fortunately the positioning of that big orange square was easy to correct, but something tells me this is not the way things are supposed to happen.Seemingly this does not always happen. I have tried the method on several stacks. Some were o.k., others showed similar behaviour to the above.
When opening my jpeg photos in Photoshop elements 9, once saved elements seems put the image in a format that my Apple Mac isn't compatible with. So when I then try and upload the images to Facebook or other software in a bulk upload the images are highlighted and I therefore can't select them and upload.
In CS6 when I enlarge a photo by pressing the spacebar I have got to go to 100% to get a sharper picture, is there anything I can do to get a better resolution photo without having to go to 100%
New user to PSE11. Is it recommended that ALL photos be in albums or is the idea that photos in albums are a subset of the photos in folders? With all the sort and search functionality, I don't understand the benefit of albums.I name my image folders using a standard naming convention with the date embedded so it makes them rather easy to manage.
The instructions in Adobe Photo Elements 11 Classroom In a Book are the classic Windows "Drag and Drop" Method. However, when I try to do it, the cursor/icon I am dragging turns into a gray circle with a gray diagonal when it reaches the Media Browser pane in the Organizer and the folder/photo is not imported into the Organizer when I "drop." Do I need to change setting in Windows (Vista, SP2) or Photoshop Elements 11?
My photos are OK in the Organizer, but the portrait photos are cut off at the top or bottom when used in a slide show. I have checked the "Crop to Fit" portrait selection but it makes no difference. I have Version 9 of Elements.
I just upgraded to photoshop elements 11. When I attempt to sync photos in iTunes (to synch with my iPhone), Photoshop Elements appears in the drop down and when I select it, it finds all the "albums" in the catalog. However, when I select an album to sync, iTunes indicates 0 photos are available in the album.
I'm running photoshop elements 11, iTunes 11.0.1.12, Windows 8 Pro.
if I try to sync "all photos and albums" it still reports that there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've tried to make new albums, which iTunes "sees" the names, but there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've also tried to sync with a folder (file system) which works just fine.
I have a large image (21.6 x 14.4in, 51.3MB, and 240ppi) that I need to reduce to approx. 7 x 5in, under 30MB, and 300ppi. First, I resampled the image down to 7 x 4.667in, 5.38MB, and 240ppi. Later, after I realized that I forgot to change the resolution, I resampled the image up by changing the resolution to 300ppi. I was left with a final image that had the following characteristics: 7 x 4.667in / 8.41MB / 300ppi. Since the file size is larger, I'm assuming that Photoshop did a bit of guesswork in order to add information back into the file.
If I would have changed the resolution from 240ppi to 300ppi at the same time that I resampled the image down to 7 x 4.667in, would I have gotten a better image? In other words, should I have done all of the adjustments at the same time?
