Photoshop :: Existing Type Layer Replaced By Text With Other Type Layer Text Upon Changing Properties?
Jun 6, 2012I have a type layer with some text in it (a headline, let's say). I click on the layer, I click on the Character Panel, and first thing I see is the color in the Panel is not the color of the font in the layer.
I then click on any Panel property, and the text in this layer is replaced by text from another layer in my document ( a paragraph layer, let's say), but the color is not the same as the layer the text came from.
Photoshop :: Push Past Error During Action?
Nov 1, 2012I'm running a batch process to apply a certain action. This action selects a color in the image, then switches to the alpha channel, selects a new background color, then deletes the content selected, leaving the area with a new rgb value. The problem is that not all the images have that color, so when it goes to select it, it doesn't find it.
Then an error pops up informing me that the delete funciton isn't available, since there's nothing selected. I've tried logging them to a file, but even then, the action stops at that step and moves onto the next image. Therefore it never makes it to the close step, so they remain open.

Jul 12, 2013I'm recieving this wierd, almost pixelated burn in my brush whenever I push down my pen onto my Intuos4 tablet. It's happening with ALL of my brushes regardless of presets or whatever kind of textures or effects I have on them. This image is from a fresh document, there are no filters or any other effects running. Just a colored brush producing these weird pixels.
I'm running Adobe Photoshop CS6 on Windows 7 - Intel Core i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz 3.90Ghz - 8Gb RAM - AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series.
Photoshop :: Copying Text From Outside Text Editor And Pasting Into CS5 Text Layer?
May 20, 2012trying to copy txt from an outside text editor and pasting them into an open, editable text layer in my workspace. The problem is that I can COPY the text fine, but when I click over to PS to paste it into the open editable text layer it either pastes the previous text from my clipboard OR it won't paste anything at all. I can then go into any other text field on a browser, spreadsheet document, a different text editor, notepad, etc and successfully paste the proper batch of text I wanted to paste into PS. Sometimes I have some rather large files open 50+megs when I notice this happen. I have to save my work and close out entirely of PS and then open it again before I can begin editing my original document again and successfully paste the text into the open editable text layer. This may last for a few COPY/PASTE sessions of additional text in additional text layers, but then begins displaying the symptoms I described above.
I am on Win7 on an AlienWare M17XR3 laptop with 16G RAM and AMD Radeon HD 6900M Series display adapter.I assume it's either in my PS performance settings which I have PS using 10413MB RAM and has over 350G scratch disk space. If it's not that I guess my laptop system performance settings which I've never tinkered with since I purchased it.

Jul 17, 2012I can't figure out how I can use a text or shape layer as a mask for the layer below. See the example attached and you will know what I mean. (I created the example with simply cutting out the text outline from the white box).
I need the text to be a mask and I need it to be editable as text. Don't know if this is possible, experimented with clipping masks but I cant make it work.

Sep 8, 2012If I right click on the selection & go to edit copy, I can copy OK.
If I type control "C", the Create Clip window pops up and it wants me to insert the previous copy I did.
This same thing happened to me 4 months ago & I overcame it somehow; but then I reloaded Gimp and I am now back to where I once was.
I want to push control C of a selection and the paste it. But it makes me do it the long way, right click menus.

Jun 24, 2012I just downloaded PS CS6 and LR 4 to both my desktop and laptop. From LR, I use control + E to push the raw image over the PS CS6 and it works on my laptop but *not* on my desktop. I have LR 4.1 and also camera raw 7.1 on both my laptop and desktop so I'm updated.
For some reason on my laptop I'm able to successfully use control + E to push the raw image to CS6 and it opens sucessfully but *not* on my desktop. When I do this on my desktop it just opens PS CS6 but that's it. The raw image never appears.
I've made sure that the LR 4 preferences setttings are the same on both my laptop and desktop. I've even rebooted.

Sep 26, 2012I've got some Text Layers in my CS6 document.
In CS5, if I had Text Layers and changed the text on the layer (by double-clicking the "T" icon of the specific Layer in the Layers palette), the name of the Layer would change to reflect the new text I entered.
For some reason this behavior is gone in CS6. So, for example:
• I have a Text Layer with the word "Email" on my canvas. The Text Layer name also reads "Email".
• I double-click the "T" icon of the Email Layer to edit the text on canvas.
• I enter new text, "Contact". The text on canvas updates to "Contact", but the Layer Name remains "Email".
So, for accurate Layer names, I find myself having to change the text twice: once on the canvas, and then manually updating the Layer name as well. Is there an option or preference somewhere that I'm missing that would re-enable the behavior from CS5?

When attempting to add simple text on an individual layer, the layer is turning black. This prevents me from seeing the text I'm editing. When I move to another layer the text displays correctly. When I go to edit the text by clicking the image the layer goes black again. It is like editing text in the dark, turning the light on to see the changes, turning the light off to make the changes, repeat.

Apr 17, 2012I have just recently upgraded to 2013.I have one color in particular that use dto be grey - now it is red. I have repaired the appearance so it looks correct in a part. I was able to save this backto the library, overwriting the original. This is all good. I am unable to find out how to push this updated appearance to all parts in an assembly. I used to be able to do this with the update styles tool.

Jul 27, 2012I know you can "pull" styles from a drawing (maybe the template) into your current drawing.
Is there a way to "push" them from the current drawing to another on?
Here is what I am picturing:
Right click on a style on the settings tab and choose "Send to Template"
"Template" would either be a predefined DWT file or it would open a standard file selection dialog to select one.....and this would copy the selected style into the template.
AutoCAD LT :: Command Line Push Up Arrow For Previous Commands?
Aug 1, 2013Just converted from 14LT to 2014LT. In 14LT, when drawing a shape, say 4' by 5', I used to be able to draw the first two lines, 4' and 5' and then simply push the up arrow to retrieve the last two entries at the command line. When I do that now, it gives me some sort of dimensional coordinates.
Also, same subject, different useage, when drawing from points to points, I used to be able to draw a line from a point to a snap point such as intersection and then simply push the up arrow to retrieve that command to the command line over and over depending on a snap by snap basis. Again, it just gives me the dimensional coordinates.

May 29, 2012I need to design a 'stencil' of sorts - but it just needs to be an array of circles separated by a constant distance. its an array of 200 micron diameter circles separated by a distance of 500 microns each (between centers). Its super easy to make this array, but when I try to 'pull' it into the third dimension, or extrude the array, I get an 'invalid' error. Or the highlighted objects just get 'unhighlighted' (for the lack of a better word) once i hit enter after selecting them all. Also, I made the entire array into a 'block' of easiness.

May 21, 2008I paste Arabic font (a sentence in Arabic in Word for example) onto a text layer in photoshop, it compleatley switches the direction of the text and the sentence doesn't read as it was in word. This leads to us going through a very complicated process of saving it as a pdf and then importing as a vector.
Does anyone know how we just import Arabic text from another document so that PHotoshop (using CS3) renders it the right way around (words and individual 'letters')
