I need to try and create a swish that looks like it was done with a pointed paintbrush. So it looks like the brush was pushed down at the start of the swish but towards the end the brush was lifted so the swish tapers out to a point.

When I first began using this app (and I've spent much time swearing at it with no result) and until recently and in either normal or full size mode showing xhairs and whether I use as paint or erase the effect is always considerably less than the diameter of the tip.
What is with this? I require a tip that goes right to the edge of what is supposed to be the tip...
Can I use a brush to apply gautasian blur? I have paint shop pro x6.

Zooming in to the line (600%) you can see i can draw a marquee through half of it ...

No matter what 1 single pixel brush i use this will happen... no matter which computer i use cs6 on and different copies of the installation. Anyway have any insight into this? frankly... it's somewhat limiting that i can't use the brush for stroking a shape if i need a pixel line and yet soft curves that a pencil won't get you.
I am not very good with photoshop, and if there was a brush tool setting to make it just like an actual paint brush.

I'm using a tablet with gimp and I want to be able to set the brush size for the paint brush and also for the eraser, separately. What happens now is that I'll set the paintbrush size to 10px, paint for a little while, turn the pen over to erase and the eraser will now be at 10px. So I'll adjust the eraser size to something like 50px, erase, turn over, and now the paintbrush is at 50px. Grrrrrrr... I tried creating new brushes for both the paintbrush and the eraser, but there's no brush size option. This is my first time using gimp so I'm probably missing something.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI like to make patterns in photoshop and usually my only way of doing this is by making an image, then transforming it down 50% and left 50% (So it takes up 1/4th the image) then pasting the image to fill up the other 3 quadrants. After doing this I can see the seams that would normally be at the edge of my pattern, then I can edit them out. This gets more and more time consuming as my patterns get more complicated.
I was wondering if there is any way to change the brush tool so that if I draw over the edge of the canvas, the brush will automatically send those pixels to the opposide side. Sort of like in old NES games where you could run off the edge of a level and reappear on the other side of it. Or you could stand on the edge of the level and mario would be half on the left and half on the right. Does anyone know what im referring to?
I try to erase part of a layer, it won't have an effect when the eraser is switched to brush or pencil. But it does work fine when set to block.
However, -and here's the strange thing- when the eraser is set to brush and the erase isn't working, if I go at the layer crazily, constantly clicking at the layer, eventually the eraser does work! Every single click is registered in the history window, but the actual action of erasing only actually happens sparsely after random clicking. And it seems to be completely random as well. It doesn't seem to depend on where I click, or the frequency of clicks or even the time after the first click.
I need to make a glow effect around the brush. I have attempted this in Adobe Illustrator (using the "Outer Glow" effect) but I am distinctly underwhelmed by the results.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe closer I got to the same look was to create a brush with the size of 1 pixel and 500% spacing, but it's still a bit slow to get even a small area looking like it's been sprayed. Plus, in the end my pattern looks too regular, not very natural. Here is part of the image whose look I'm trying to recreate (400% and 100%).

On another image, I tried to do the same thing but the texture is a small repeat pattern and doesn't look like glass at all. I tried to get the effect by changing size and hardness and pattern size of the brush but no luck. What should I do?

No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?
I have colored in a part of a picture using the magic wand selection tool, then paint bucket. There is still some missed areas So I try to use the paintbrush tool .
However the paintbrush tool isn't applying any color (with me) .
whenever I try to create the effect to looks flat. The red lines stay on the top and do not wrap it suggesting the straw to be 3D. Another problem i am having is making the shadows on the straw to also look realistic.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen using the Adjustment Brush to mask a portion of a RAW image so I can reduce the exposure of only a part of my photo I get an uneven effect. It appears that the mask is not affecting some pixels of the area I'm trying to adjust. The photo was taken inside a cathedral in Vienna where the lighting wasn't great so I used an ISO of 3200 on my Nikon D7000 camera. I made noise reduction adjustments before attempting to use the Adjustment Brush. A portion of the image is shown below. I have had the same problem with other photos when using the Adjustment Brush. I've tried different Feather, Flow, and Density settings without noticable improvement.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI try to use the brush tool I can not "paint" in the image.
I created a new image, selected the brush tool.
In the image a circle with a + in the center appears, but when drag the circle nothing appears.
I have made my first object with the shapes tools, LS, and with the use of the Path Selection tools and then Grouped everything via the Layers panel.
Next I am suppose to add a New Layer and draw a Rectangle Shape and place the Shape Layer below the group and above a Layer w/a Radial Gradient . then I am suppose to use the Paint Brush on the Shape to Airbrush a light (light as in light from a light bulb not as in a shade) effect but when I go to select the Brush tool I am told I must Rasterize the Layer beforehand.
However, when I do Rasterize the Layer the Shape becomes filled with a color which leaves me unable to achieve the desired effect. I draw the shape with the Color Fill set to None.
I checked the "User Manual" but I have been unable to find an answer as to what I can do. I have tried using the Path tool to create a Selection before trying to use the Brush tool but that also tells me to Rasterize beforehand.
