Corel PHOTO-PAINT X5 :: Eraser And Brush Mask Tool Showing Icon Instead Of Circle Or Square
Mar 1, 2013I must have fat fingered something and I now when I click on the Eraser Tool or the Brush Mask Tool instead of getting a circle or square, I get and icon of the tool instead. They still work but they're harder to use without seeing the circle or square depending on what's selected. I've been using Corel for many years and never had this happen and I can't figure out how to switch back.

Jul 5, 2012I'm using a tablet with gimp and I want to be able to set the brush size for the paint brush and also for the eraser, separately. What happens now is that I'll set the paintbrush size to 10px, paint for a little while, turn the pen over to erase and the eraser will now be at 10px. So I'll adjust the eraser size to something like 50px, erase, turn over, and now the paintbrush is at 50px. Grrrrrrr... I tried creating new brushes for both the paintbrush and the eraser, but there's no brush size option. This is my first time using gimp so I'm probably missing something.

Apr 18, 2013A small feature I have been using for years, and find very useful, was changed in X6 Update 3. Using the Erase with the ALT key use to erase in a straight line from one point to another point. Now after installing Update 3 this key combination is used to interactively adjust transparency (a new feature according to the release notes).
Is the point-to-point erase feature gone or can I somehow adjust settings to get it back? Or is there now another key used for this?
Using CorelDraw Suite X6 with Update 3 on Windows 7 64bit.

Nov 24, 2008I have Photoshop CS2 and I am trying to "fix" a photo. I'm using a tutorial,and it worked on a previous photo but seems to have quit on me. I made a new layer from the original layer, used filter> other> high pass (set to 3.5) then image> adjustments>desaturate. Inverted the layer added a vector mask and inverted that as well. I set the blending mode to overlay, and the foreground color to white.

Is this a known phenomenon? Can anything be tried to overcome it? I wondered it might be anything to do with graphics card compatibility ..or just my computer in some other respect.

Sep 15, 2012I'm learning how to use a Gaussian blur mask to airbrush portraits, but one issue I keep running into is that whenever I paint close to a colour other than skin (e.g., glasses, hair, shirt) then the paintbrush picks up that colour and paints it on the skin. Even when I try a very small diameter of brush or increase the hardness to 100%, it still shows up. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Mar 14, 2011I am creating a mask in Photo Paint and feathering the edges. Everything works fine up until I "Finish Editing" and the object is returned to Corel Draw. The mask has shifted up from the image and the wrong area is masked. If I save the image from Photo Paint and re-open it it's fine...just not when it's sent back to Corel Draw.

Dec 19, 2012I have contacted Adobe about issues with Photoshop brushes recently. My issue is that the brush size is smaller than the circle that represents the brush. In other words, when I hoover over the area that I want to paint or erase with the circle and then click, the painted or erased area is smaller that the circle. It's really frustrating when fine tuning an image, you never know how close you are to what you want to correct. This is only visible when you zoom in quit a bit. I worked with an Adobe tech for over an hour and he could not simulate the problem. Then he finally asked if I was using a retina display, (he was not).

Feb 5, 2014I'm having a problem with the Blob Brush tool where I can't change the basic brush to something else. Whenever I pick a brush I want and I try draw with the Blob Brush tool, the brush I picked reverts back to the basic brush. Here are screenshots:
I pick a brush that I like first
But when I start drawing with the Blob Brush tool, it reverts back to the basic brush automatically
Am I doing something wrong or is the Blob Brush tool only capable of using the basic brush?
Photoshop :: Unable To Paint 1 Pixel Brush Line (with Brush Not Pencil)
May 28, 2013you can see what i mean in the following picture examples.
Selecting a brush (any 1 pixel) brush

Zooming in to the line (600%) you can see i can draw a marquee through half of it ...

No matter what 1 single pixel brush i use this will happen... no matter which computer i use cs6 on and different copies of the installation. Anyway have any insight into this? frankly... it's somewhat limiting that i can't use the brush for stroking a shape if i need a pixel line and yet soft curves that a pencil won't get you.

Jun 14, 2009for some reason when I change brush size by the pallette or the [ keys I only see the cross hairs with a dot in the middle. I've tried ctrl, alt shift to reinsate all settings but still do not see a visual representation of the brush size.

Sep 15, 2012I am using illustrator to edit a sketch. But, this problem alwasy happens. I normally use the 3 pt round brush and set the size to about 0.15pt. Well, If i use a different brush and switch back to the normal paintbrush it would always chang it to 1 pt and I would have to make a stroke and set it back to 0.15 pt. Is there a reason why it keeps doing this?
Also, is there a way to erase without it editing the entire path? I know I am using vectors but I don't understand how to fix this. URL....

I see PhotoShop can resize the canvas using a "relative" percentage and I am wondering if it's possible to do in PhotoPaint using a script or macro, as I don't see resizing as a percentage as an option.
