whenever I try to create the effect to looks flat. The red lines stay on the top and do not wrap it suggesting the straw to be 3D. Another problem i am having is making the shadows on the straw to also look realistic.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI tried to create a rendering utilizing the IES file from a light fixture manufacturer and I can't seem to get the photometric web to distribute along the full length of the bulb. It looks like the light is being distributed from a point in the middle of the light fixture although it is a 4' T8 fluorescent bulb. In the light family Light Source Definition, I set the Emit from shape to be a line and set the Light Distribution to be Photometric Web and set the Emit From Line Length parameter to be 4'. The distribution of the light looks correct, but just only from a point.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi have two weeks to produce a persoanl promotion, so thinking i had done what was necissary, i used illustrator to produce some lgihtbulbs and the filament was the signature, it just so happened that my signature looked like a filament!
It got slated...got told that what need to be done, and was very doubtful i could do it, would to take a photo of the lightbulb with the filament made inside... where will i ge that from!! Dont think so
So, because i'm fairly compitent on photoshop ive decided to shop it up.
Only problem is im unsure really how to go about this... its quite difficult i find to get the lightbulb looking perfect and also to make the filament look like its iside the lightbulb and glowing.
I'm having a problem with the Blob Brush tool where I can't change the basic brush to something else. Whenever I pick a brush I want and I try draw with the Blob Brush tool, the brush I picked reverts back to the basic brush. Here are screenshots:
I pick a brush that I like first
But when I start drawing with the Blob Brush tool, it reverts back to the basic brush automatically
Am I doing something wrong or is the Blob Brush tool only capable of using the basic brush?
I need to try and create a swish that looks like it was done with a pointed paintbrush. So it looks like the brush was pushed down at the start of the swish but towards the end the brush was lifted so the swish tapers out to a point.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI like to make patterns in photoshop and usually my only way of doing this is by making an image, then transforming it down 50% and left 50% (So it takes up 1/4th the image) then pasting the image to fill up the other 3 quadrants. After doing this I can see the seams that would normally be at the edge of my pattern, then I can edit them out. This gets more and more time consuming as my patterns get more complicated.
I was wondering if there is any way to change the brush tool so that if I draw over the edge of the canvas, the brush will automatically send those pixels to the opposide side. Sort of like in old NES games where you could run off the edge of a level and reappear on the other side of it. Or you could stand on the edge of the level and mario would be half on the left and half on the right. Does anyone know what im referring to?
I try to erase part of a layer, it won't have an effect when the eraser is switched to brush or pencil. But it does work fine when set to block.
However, -and here's the strange thing- when the eraser is set to brush and the erase isn't working, if I go at the layer crazily, constantly clicking at the layer, eventually the eraser does work! Every single click is registered in the history window, but the actual action of erasing only actually happens sparsely after random clicking. And it seems to be completely random as well. It doesn't seem to depend on where I click, or the frequency of clicks or even the time after the first click.
I'm making some graphics to be printed on a car. I have some lines with outer glow on them, but Illustrator won't render these unless I use 72DPI in raster effects reslution. I would like to go higher, but it won't give me anything. Guessing it's to heavy for Illustrator maybe? Is there anything I can do about this? I'm making my graphics in 1:1 scale, but I do it in a lower scale since it's just vector art anyway, however how would that effect my glow? Since it's a raster effect.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen using the Adjustment Brush to mask a portion of a RAW image so I can reduce the exposure of only a part of my photo I get an uneven effect. It appears that the mask is not affecting some pixels of the area I'm trying to adjust. The photo was taken inside a cathedral in Vienna where the lighting wasn't great so I used an ISO of 3200 on my Nikon D7000 camera. I made noise reduction adjustments before attempting to use the Adjustment Brush. A portion of the image is shown below. I have had the same problem with other photos when using the Adjustment Brush. I've tried different Feather, Flow, and Density settings without noticable improvement.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn one image I used ripple texture to simulate shine on glass and it worked great. On another image, I tried to do the same thing but the texture is a small repeat pattern and doesn't look like glass at all. I tried to get the effect by changing size and hardness and pattern size of the brush but no luck. What should I do?
View 4 Replies View Relatedusing mac OS 10.6.8 with CS5 Xtnd: I don't get it! When I first began using this app (and I've spent much time swearing at it with no result) and until recently and in either normal or full size mode showing xhairs and whether I use as paint or erase the effect is always considerably less than the diameter of the tip.
What is with this? I require a tip that goes right to the edge of what is supposed to be the tip...

I have this very large scene that has 109 lights. I'm tweeking a portion of the scene and it would be real handy to be able to turn all the lights (except a few) off to speed rendering times. I don't know of a way to do this and doubt its possible without a script or something.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that in some of my family pictures, there are lights on in the background or bright windows behind the subject. Is there any way to reduce the brightness of ONLY these extremely bright areas without making the rest of the photo too dark?
I have searched for hours and can't seem to find anything that resembles my scenario, although I'm sure that I'm probably just not looking for the right thing in the right place.
Ive had a look around the forum and done a few searches but have been unable to find any reference to creating the effect of Ultraviolet lights, or black light.
im designing a space in 3d studio max and want to light portions of it in UV. ive no idea how to create this in MAX so i thought i may be able to apply it to the renders in PS.
im after that lighting effect where a tube casts a violet light and makes whites and certain colors fluoresce and glow brightly.

I have 2 photometroc lights in my scene. I have a simple animation going on and I'm trying to keep the viewport clean while the animation plays. Is there a way to hide the lights (wireframe circles)? Without turning the lights off that is.
