On one image I used ripple texture to simulate shine on glass and it worked great. On another image, I tried to do the same thing but the texture is a small repeat pattern and doesn't look like glass at all. I tried to get the effect by changing size and hardness and pattern size of the brush but no luck. What should I do?

View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen changing brush size in CS6, I've noticed that it is has granular resolution from 0 pixels up to around 500pixels, incrementing in size very slowly. However, above 500 pixels it increases in size very rapidly, jumping to 800, 1200, 1500 and then into the 2000s.
As most of the photos that I work on have a high pixel count I find that my ideal brush size is between 400 and 1000, occasionally I use it at around 100 pixels, and occasionally at 2500.
Is there any way of changing the scale of the brush size so that it allows greater sensitivity in the 400 to 1000 range?
i have used photoshop for years now. However, I still have CS3 or 4 still. Anyway, my brackets ( [ ] ) aren't changing the brush size any more. Instead they're changing the opacity. I can't figure out how to change it back. I desperately need it to change my brush sizes again. It takes way too long doing them manually ;)

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to change the color on my chevron pattern (a downloaded PS template I purchased off the internet.) I select my paint bucket (and choose the color to change it to) but every time I click on the pattern, it changes the color to a lighter shade of pink vs the green that I am trying to apply. It's almost like it is mixing the color VS changing it.
How would I go about changing the color completely? It is currently light pink and I want to change it to a green that I grabbed off of a diff picture (with the color picker.)
My brush and dropper tips had changed when I opened the program today. I'm trying to switch from Precise to Normal. I've tried to change it through Preferences, but it seems that my changes won't save. I have Elements 10 and Windows 8.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have hundreds of pictures from a recent trip that I want to print to a 4x6 print. The problem is that the pictures were taken in the incorrect ratio for this print size. I want the entire picture - with a white border around it if necessary. I can get Elements 9 to do this for me for home printing from the print screen and selecting the print size that I want. However, I want to upload these photos to an online printing service (snap fish, shutter fly, etc). I have tried using their digital print size option on Snap fish, but it still crops my pictures.
So,
1. How can I get elements to save the file for me in a compatible 4x6 ratio without cropping, that I can use to upload to a printing service?
2. How can I do this in a batch process as there are over 1000 pictures that have this issue?
3. If elements can't do this, what software can
I found a forum entry about changing the font size of captions in a slide show in PSE9. The fixer said there was no global fix to change the default font size for captions in PSE9. Is there a way to do that in PSE12? When my captions show up on the screen in PSE12, they are so small I can barely read them. I would like them all to be larger.

I have contacted Adobe about issues with Photoshop brushes recently. My issue is that the brush size is smaller than the circle that represents the brush. In other words, when I hoover over the area that I want to paint or erase with the circle and then click, the painted or erased area is smaller that the circle. It's really frustrating when fine tuning an image, you never know how close you are to what you want to correct. This is only visible when you zoom in quit a bit. I worked with an Adobe tech for over an hour and he could not simulate the problem. Then he finally asked if I was using a retina display, (he was not).

i currently have a logo that is 460X440 pixels and 12.17cmsX11.69cms and the resolution is 96 pixels per inch.
i am wanting to change it into a 2cm X 2cm avatar that is less than 6K in size,
how do i do this? everything i try makes the output file about 24k in size.
the reason i am doing this is the forum i regularly post on has a max avatar size of 6k.
I'm using a tablet with gimp and I want to be able to set the brush size for the paint brush and also for the eraser, separately. What happens now is that I'll set the paintbrush size to 10px, paint for a little while, turn the pen over to erase and the eraser will now be at 10px. So I'll adjust the eraser size to something like 50px, erase, turn over, and now the paintbrush is at 50px. Grrrrrrr... I tried creating new brushes for both the paintbrush and the eraser, but there's no brush size option. This is my first time using gimp so I'm probably missing something.

(For example, if I drew an ellipse with stroke weight 2 pt, and then increased the size the stroke weight would be 2.856 pt or some such number instead of 2 pt.) How to change this back?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis question revolves around the pattern stamp tool and masking out trees/shrubs. I use the patterns often because I am making 3d models of buildings from photographs. Often times there are many obstructions in the images that need to be edited out. So I usually create a texture pattern and then fill it where it needs to cover up these obstructions.
The problem I see is that there is no scaling on the pattern stamp tool. Each photo that I am editing will have a different resolution and so the original pattern stamp I created will only work on the original sampled image. There are several tricks I've come up with, such as creating a vector mask out of the selection and paint bucket filling the space with the pattern, then reducing the scale of the fill, but this method doesn't work all that well..
if there is a hidden trick to scaling the pattern stamp tool to work with?
