View 2 RepliesHad a text logo created on a white canvas/background. Made the white background transparent, then placed the logo on a green web page. Traces of white appear around the text edges. Is there a way to remove the traces of the original background color that appear around text when I place a transparent GIF on a different background color assuming I don't have the original psd/png file only the transparent GIF?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an image that uses about 20 different colors (there are 2 colors that dominate the image). I want to reduce the image to just those 2 main colors. How can I do that in Photoshop CS2 or Illustrator CS2?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a long time I have been struggling to find a good workflow for what I would call "multi channel color separation". What I want is to reduce a full color RGB image into an image with only a limited number (e.g. 5-8) well-chosen colors, for instance to use as set of masks for screen print. (I'd also like to use this as an effect in itself, mimicking a typical 'screen print' or 'litho' effect on an inkjet print)
The idea is to create a set of monochrome layers or spot color channels. Colors are to be selected by myself (so not necessarily RGB or CMYK). Each channel/layer has to be a continuous tone that I transform myself into a dedicated half tone screen (e.g. with the Andromeda screen filter).
Till sofar it is clear to me. My issue is: How to separate the image in the predefined set of colors?
I can not just select a color range: I can adjust a "tolerance" but that is too general. I need the pixels of with a specific hue but with the full range of lightness (e.g. all the purple pixels that range from dark/medium purple to very light purple). The dark colors can be made dark with a black channel. I'm not sure how to deal with the saturation range.
An approach that gives sometimes a result that is to some extent acceptable is to transfer from RGB mode to an Indexed Color mode and use a custom palette. However, this does not give much control on the halftone screening process.
I envision for instance an approach of filling a layer with a solid given color, select in one way or another only those parts that correspond to the original image and subtract that layer somehow from the image. This process is then to be repeated for each color. Up till now I have not been able to figure the right options to do this. But maybe there is a better way to do it.
One final wish: it would be great if the process can take into account that some layers in the final print are (semi-)transparent. In my opinion this would exclude just selecting a color and deleting de pixels.
Trying to change the blue color in this abstract image (see image) to a much darker green (pantone 561) Any way to do this easily? I am not coming to close to this new darker green color.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe color picker in CS4 has 2 options: "actual layer" and "all layers".
I get the same values on multilayered documents no matter what option I take.
I have a german version of CS4.
I'm working in the multi-channel format, which as you may know, does not support layers.
Does anyone have any tips on experimenting with the layout, without the use of layers?
At the moment, I've been working out the layout in another (layer-supporting) colour mode, and then recreating that layout in the multi-channl mode.
Surely there is a better way of testing different layouts, within the multi-channel mode itself? I'm finding it very inflexible at the moment.
I am kinda new to image editing and I am wondering how to do something like on the news (the weather reports in particular) where the replace/add the landscape to a green/blue background. I would like to do it with a white background and have it replaceed with something more interesting. The closest I can find is the color replacement tool but that is not quite what I want to do. Any ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a Graphic Designer for a print shop and we just had a large document printed that looked to be in black and white but must have been in color somewhere (gray boxes) and used more clicks on the printer than we wanted. I'm wondering if there is a quick way to check a document like this in CS5 programs to see if it is truly in black and white or if there is something in there that is RGB or CMYK.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a social media icon rollover png. I need the bottom row of icons to be slightly lighter than the top row for a mouse over effect. I know this is probably something easy I'm screwing up, but when I use bucket fill to change color, I get that circular jagged edge look.
What's the secret to changing the color of a circular object without the jagged edges?
Added attachment below where you can see the jagged effect - I just bucket filled with the lighter color.

I have modeled a house. It consists of a number of elements created on different layers with different colors. When I generate a section block it is only in one color, this makes it hard to distinguish different elements. Manually changing the colors of each line is out of the question.
How can I generate a section witch keeps the colors of the elements defined by the color of the layer which they occupy?
Imagine you have a picture with some parts (surfaces) in a XXX specific color. How to easily select only all these parts to modify their color?
View 2 Replies View Related...because I can not find the multi color gradient tool, plugin, killer robots, nothing.
I used the search function but it yielded nothing. I am working(playing really)
I'm trying to find in Paint.NET the functions I use often:
1) How to straighten photos, using an horizontal line or a geometrical figure (I tried yet the radius straighten, but the photos are deformed then)
2) Some info on how to add a transparency layer and how to "colour" an area with transparent background;
3) How to make a gradient of two or more colours with advanced settings;
4) How to cut an area of a photo with precision (point-to point system and point to point "guided" based on colour tollerance levels; magic wand seems not to cut and then I haven't a firm hand);
5) Additional plugins for photo editing (borders, frames, artistic effects, etc.)
The gray box has a solid gray color on the edges but white towards the center. How do I make this effect?
View 9 Replies View RelatedBoth here and to Gimp. Tested it a bit on and off, but the breakthrough for me was the single window mode, so now I am currently making an effort to learn something.
My first question is actually about something I am failing to do with Photoshop CS4. I create a text, rasterize it, then create the stripes via the rectangle tool (in this case I am messing with different national colors, like Germany). Now so far so god, but I never get around to actually be able to merge the strips with the text. The closest I have gotten is to see the text behind the stripes, but then the strips also covers the space between the text. I followed this tutorial for that: [URL]......
I looked at Your Sweet Candy tutorial and, excluding some steps, seems to be relevant, but for step 15, where I do not want to select stripes available inGimp, but create new ones.
I have a collage I put together of several guitars, and I want to outline the guitars in a gold outline and change the background color to black, to make them stand out. I can't figure out how to do this. If it matters, I have Photoshop CS2 for Windows.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from corel 12 to X6. I work in SignLab e6 on my production computer. Now since I have upgraded when I export files from x6 and import them into SignLab e6 they will not import unless I change everything to 1 color. If it does export the file as full color, when I import the file it is converted to 1 color. This takes a lot of time to re color everything. I typically have to export files from Corel as .EPS in order for the file to import into Signlab with best quality, but have been using the CMX (legacy) lately with same results. I dont understand why I have to convert them into 1 color nor why they convert from full color to 1 color.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI know where the customize colors options is... but trying to guess at the meanings of the names is a very tedious process in max
So, I found the color for edges when working with geometry... but when I model something with a symmetry modifier applied, then the edge color defaults to the bright ORANGE color. What this color would be called?
And for that matter, any data base, online file, where these color terms are defined more clearly. It's sometimes very tedious to trial and error these things, especially if you have to restart max every time you take a guess.
I have created a color gradient and the color fill has an uneven edge, which creates a small white space between the edges of the fill and the bounding box. I have tried using shift+click to try and even the edges, but I guess that only works for using stroke tool or whatever. You have to look closely because this image is not very large. There is a slight uneveness on both the top (near the right side) and bottom (slightly left of center).

Is it a problem that I started the document already and now want to make it bleed to the edges?
I have been trying how to figure out how to make the center if an object transparent with color gradually appearing on the borders. The transarency tool insists on starting with a solid color in the center. If using a square as an example, how do I make the center transparent with the edges graduating to a solid color?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried the following in Illustrator,
So basically, I created coloured text inside Adobe Illustrator and however much I zoom into the text, the text always appears to have smooth edges. Once I click on 'Save For Web', the edge all around the text becomes rough and aliased. I chose GIF and PNG, but it still happens. The text is on a transparency background. The same problem applies to images when I am creating a logo.
I thought this was going to be a piece of cake in the new Illustrator CC but I am having a few unanticipated issues:)I need to create some vector tire images with different edges, such as the top one in the image below.So I thought this would be SO easy by simply creating a pattern brush in Illustrator and then using that for the outside. So I created the shape you see in the middle image below and created a pattern brush with this shape.I then created an ellipse and used the new brush for the outline.
All of those are open paths...it has taken the shape and applied it to the outline but has kept each shape separate, so I am not able to fill the circle in black. I could of course go in and manually join each little corner separately where the little shapes meet but this will take FOREVER with all the images I have to do.
I'm trying to snap a head with it's neck with the merge edge tool, but somewhere along the way, the edges lost there border edge characteristics and now I can't merge the edges. Is there a way to make the edges back to the way they were?

When we open the file in Photoshop or link it in Indesign or Illustrator we only see the 1st page or view of the file.
I was very surprised to see this in Bridge, as far as I know it is not possible to even make a multi page jpg file.
