View 9 RepliesI have been trying how to figure out how to make the center if an object transparent with color gradually appearing on the borders. The transarency tool insists on starting with a solid color in the center. If using a square as an example, how do I make the center transparent with the edges graduating to a solid color?

However, every time I attempt to replace the color with White, it shows up as a gray instead. Not sure what's going on, it seems like I've checked all my color settings, and if I try to replace with any other color it works just fine... its only with the WHITE that I'm having trouble making the change.
View 9 Replies View Relatedjust downloaded Paint.net a week ago. I am trying to convert a color logo from it's original design to a white log over a solid background, like the image attached. I need the solid background separate from the logo so I can change the color.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy company is switching from ctb files to stb files. With the ctb file, we make concrete hatch with two layers. A top layer with the concrete hatch pattern and a background layer with a solid hatch patern. The ctb file concrete plots the concete hatch black and the solid background hatch light gray. I am using civil 3d 2013 and the hatch allows a seperate background color mask. I am trying to make all my concrete layers (Top of Curb, Curb Flowline, etc.) a certain color scheme, i.e. shades of green. I would like my on screen concrete hatch patern to be a green color with a gray background, but plot the concrete hatch black with a gray background. I can not figure out how to do this without making two layers. Is there a way to use one layer and utilize the background color mask to show on screen green and gray, but plot black and gray?

Even when I reconnected the second monitor the grey Photoshop background is still extended beyond the beyond the bottom of the monitor. I can't grab with my mouse. How do I resize this so it fits back within the limits of my monitor? And when switching back to MacBook what is there a way to have Photoshop resize to fit within the screen?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a multilayered psd file. All layers should remain opaque except the black to white gradient layer where I need the white to be transparent. So that when I place the final psd on top of a block of solid colour in Indesign the gradient shows the background colour through where the black fades off.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI made a simple logo in pcs5 using RGB saving as jpeg then uploading into blog. The white has a grey hue. I calibrated my mac and checked my color setting in photoshop. I tried CMYK and saving for web and other devices. I did research online and I have had no luck. I even opened another logo, from a different blog, that has a simular setup to mine, into pcs5, saved it and uploaded to the blog to check and it too was greyish. The image is RGB white and looks completely white in preview and pcs5. I just uploaded the image here and it looks okay. Looking at it from an angle and I can see the shadow.

But when I upload it it's like it has a grey haze over it? I'm using Photoshop 9, and have never had any trouble before, I got rid of the blog template I've been using to see if it's being caused by that but no luck. I've tried uploading the image to photo bucket and then inserting it like that, still the same.
I've tried using a transparent background, upping the contrast and brightness of the whole image, starting with a white background in all of the available options: CMYK, Lab, RGB.
I've created a blog header before and it's come out white, with no problems or altering. I have downloaded fonts which I'm using as the header, but the whole image is grey, not just the font area.
I have no idea where to start. I guess I want to keep the edges defined, but still have a blur-type effect in there. But I also like how the colors are kinda washed, if that's the right term for it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedJPEG's are opening in CS6 (32 and 64) with a partial gray/white mask in place. Resizing usually makes them disappear but they shouldn't be there to begin with. OS is Win7. The files display fine in Bridge and other applications.

View 9 Replies View RelatedToday I downloaded a trial version of PSE. This means of course that I'm new to the game. I can follow a step-by-step guide though. Here's what I'd like to do: I've taken a dozen photos of an actor with a green screen as a background. Is there a way that I can chroma-key out the green and put in another color, like gray or perhaps a textured off-white?
View 3 Replies View RelatedLet's say I have a square with a gradient fill of 30% gray to white. I have a background that I have imported to make the paper look old and weathered. If I place this background behind the gradient filled square, the square looks grayish and will print this way. Instead what I want is for the gradient filled square to show the color of the background rather than gray.
If I print the old and weathered background first and then run the paper through the printer again with the gradient filled square, it has the effect I want. Is there a way to do get this effect without having to print the background first and then print it again?
My question is: How do I change the colors of the default white-and-gray grid behind pictures (the one shown when you have a transparent or blank area in your picture)? I'm asking this because I'm trying to design some glass-like icons (that use a transparent white on the edges), and due to the white areas on the grid behind the picture it's very hard to see the separate pixels. Is there possibly any way to change these colors to, say, black or something, so I can see what I'm editing better?

This however, is proving surprisingly difficult as I can't figure out if there is any way to pan my view of the image so that any part of its edges is centralized on my screen. Is there any way to do this or are there any relevant plugins available?
I have an image that has a tiny bit of white around the edges of people's hair so it is very difficult to get rid of without erasing the hair. I've tried the erase, magic wand and laso tool but it doesn't get rid of all the white.

I'm creating a bin model. I've hollowed it out, the thickness of the bin tapers from top to bottom. I have selected the edges at the bottom of the bin and just want to connect these to form a solid shape which can be the base of the bin. At the moment it's hollow all the way through.
When I select these edges, then select 'border' and 'cap', nothing happens. How do I make this selection into a simple circular base?

I used a quick mask to remove a background from an image and when I place the image into Indesign CS2 (Using Photoshop CS2) I can see a small white edge around the masked photo.
This is going to print at 2400 dpi four color and I don't want my customer looking at it and saying it's not up to par.
Is there any way to remove the effect I described?
I'm pretty new to photoshop and am struggling to seperate an image into two layers without dodgy white edges i've done it using the lasoo tool and have tried using a pen with path but the same thing seemed to happen. has anyone got any tips on how to do this without getting the white borders ...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to create several domed solids (as different parts) based on 2D sketches of various shapes. I am trying to emulate domes that you might creating by pouring thick resin.
Using this forum I have found that you can do this easily using Loft to-point, then use the Conditions tab to get the dome height/shape set nicely.
The only problem is when the 2D shapes have a corner that is too sharp - then it leaves ridges on the domes - like the arrows show on this example - which is based on a simple rectangle with 0.5m radius corners:
I found one thread on this forum that said to use Delete-Face, then Patch - but the I couldn't get the patch to leave nice smoothed edges - and without bulging.
im having a hard time smoothing the edges of my character. i tried deleting the hard/solid edge but maya cant and always ->// Warning: Border edges cannot be deleted merged yes its already merged with the body... i tried to relax the vertices but still didnt work
