I'm new to CS6 and WIN8. When I Open an image from ACR in 16-bit TIFF and select a tool in Image>Adjustment and begin processing, the background changes from gray to a flashing white checkerboard pattern and the images disappears. What have I missed in the setup?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased an update for PSCS6 disc. Whenever I use a slider in editing (such as adjusting hue, contrast, etc.) the background on my screen flashes back and forth between black and grey/checkerboard! It does this as I slide the slider in all adjustments! It is impossible to edit with this flashing! I have set the background to black, but it will not stay there. I have downloaded all the current drivers for my computer. Nothing works!

On a transparent background, the checkerboard pattern is kind of hard to work with. The project, to be exact, are sprites for a game I'm developing, and the 32x32 really limits what I can work with.
EDIT: I just need it to be a different color. Black or grey would work fine.
Is it normal for my workspace to flash from my gray background to a checkered pattern when I'm working/performing a task in Photoshop?

We use screenshots as a means of generating low-res proofs. Having our step and repeat logo pattern as the background would allow us to easily include it in our low-res screenshot proofs. Can I replace the "system file" for the dark gray to our step and repeat pattern?

View 1 Replies View Related I have a simple clothing pattern I want to make a 3d Texture from which I can do however what I would like to do is make a layer out of the white background around the template with the marked pattern areas as transparent so after I paint the main template clothing ares, I can place the white background with transparent areas back in as a layer to cover where I paint or fill over the marked template area. I've got an image of a guy in mid-air, halfway through a lay up (actually, the model was standing on a table, but that's neither here nor there!)
I separated him from the background, so the only thing I have is the model and the net on a black background, as if the image was a close-up photo. What I'd really like to do is add camera flashes to the background, so it looks like there's a huge crowd snapping pictures of the layup.
I've attached a small version of the picture so you'll have a better idea what I'm talking about.
I am currently making a digital scrapbook page and am having issues with quite a few of my png elements. When I add them to the page, they have the white background instead of being transparent. I know that saving files as jpg will create that but these are png files with the checkerboard background. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it. Oh and I'm using Elements 7.0.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have someone using 3DS Max Design. He has a drawing open. I don't know if these problems are related. Sometimes when rotating around the model in viewport, the model will turn white and start expanding slowly. Other times the model will start flashing and won't stop. In either case, he has to exit the program and open the file again. It is an iMac 27" i7, Radeon HD 5750, running Win 7 Pro on Parallels. I have installed all the latest patches for Mac OS, Win 7 and 3DS Max Design.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy company is switching from ctb files to stb files. With the ctb file, we make concrete hatch with two layers. A top layer with the concrete hatch pattern and a background layer with a solid hatch patern. The ctb file concrete plots the concete hatch black and the solid background hatch light gray. I am using civil 3d 2013 and the hatch allows a seperate background color mask. I am trying to make all my concrete layers (Top of Curb, Curb Flowline, etc.) a certain color scheme, i.e. shades of green. I would like my on screen concrete hatch patern to be a green color with a gray background, but plot the concrete hatch black with a gray background. I can not figure out how to do this without making two layers. Is there a way to use one layer and utilize the background color mask to show on screen green and gray, but plot black and gray?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with a transparent image. So, I have an image of someone & I want to paste an image of a transparent heart around their face, which I also have. I open the heart in Paint.net & notice the checkerboard background, which means that the background is transparent. I then copy & paste it onto the image of the person but the heart still has the checkerboard background instead of being transparent & it is covering the face. Also, when I saved the heart image on my Mac desktop, the thumbnail had a white background but when I opened it in Preview & iPhoto, it was transparent.
PS: I have Parallels Desktop so I'm running Mac & Windows side-by-side.
Where is the option to get rid of the transparency/checkerboard background that displays on my Artboards in CS6?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI made a simple logo in pcs5 using RGB saving as jpeg then uploading into blog. The white has a grey hue. I calibrated my mac and checked my color setting in photoshop. I tried CMYK and saving for web and other devices. I did research online and I have had no luck. I even opened another logo, from a different blog, that has a simular setup to mine, into pcs5, saved it and uploaded to the blog to check and it too was greyish. The image is RGB white and looks completely white in preview and pcs5. I just uploaded the image here and it looks okay. Looking at it from an angle and I can see the shadow.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to create a header for my blog, which I've done and uploaded it here; testertown.blogspot.com (it's just to design the template before uploading). In the Photoshop window it comes up brilliant white background, brilliant colors.
But when I upload it it's like it has a grey haze over it? I'm using Photoshop 9, and have never had any trouble before, I got rid of the blog template I've been using to see if it's being caused by that but no luck. I've tried uploading the image to photo bucket and then inserting it like that, still the same.
I've tried using a transparent background, upping the contrast and brightness of the whole image, starting with a white background in all of the available options: CMYK, Lab, RGB.
I've created a blog header before and it's come out white, with no problems or altering. I have downloaded fonts which I'm using as the header, but the whole image is grey, not just the font area.
I also draw on paper, and now as I want to edit stuff on Photoshop CS2 I find that I am not able to easily and smoothly make the image transparent through a grayscale image of the image...

However, every time I attempt to replace the color with White, it shows up as a gray instead. Not sure what's going on, it seems like I've checked all my color settings, and if I try to replace with any other color it works just fine... its only with the WHITE that I'm having trouble making the change.
