View 1 Replies View RelatedI have used the same basic skin retouching method for hundreds of pictures. Usually I end up with very nice, natural looking skin. Today, the same technique is turning the skin gray on any picture I attempt to use it on. I cannot figure out why. Essentially, I copy the background layer. I do my spot healing on this layer.
When I'm through, I make 3 more layers. On the first, I use the Median filter. On the second, I use a high pass filter. Then on the 3rd, I add I layer mask, painting in black, and go over the skin. It is always gray on the mask. I then go back and reduce the opacity of the high pass and median layers. Usually I end up with smoother, but natural skin and it's normal color. Today, every time I attempt to do this, the skin stays a muted gray. I cannot figure out why. what might be different that I'm not noticing?
Using 2013 C3D. My text and linework is now gray. During opening/initializing of drawing, everything appear fine until it finishes loading, then everything is gray. It just started yesterday when I was bringing in shp files of wetlands in various ways (dragging/dropping, fdo conect and mapimport). Maybe the shp file had nothing to do with it, but I've never seen cad do this.
When I grip the line, the color in layer comes up as correct color, but the line on screen is gray. Also if I copy the multileader or line, the color reverts back to correct color until I save, exit and reopen. BTW - the only thing that isn't gray is my civil 3d pipes and structures.

I made a simple logo in pcs5 using RGB saving as jpeg then uploading into blog. The white has a grey hue. I calibrated my mac and checked my color setting in photoshop. I tried CMYK and saving for web and other devices. I did research online and I have had no luck. I even opened another logo, from a different blog, that has a simular setup to mine, into pcs5, saved it and uploaded to the blog to check and it too was greyish. The image is RGB white and looks completely white in preview and pcs5. I just uploaded the image here and it looks okay. Looking at it from an angle and I can see the shadow.

View 23 Replies View RelatedI've seen tons of photos in black and white that look spectacular. I have a feeling a lot are taken with black and white film, but some must be turned b/w! My question then is how do you achieve this awesome b/w in photoshop? For a while I just turned it grayscale (i know, i know.) Then I just desaturated. And recently someone told me to make a hue/sat adjustment layer and play with each of the different shades. After playing with all these ways I haven't been able to get the effects I want. I tried browsing around looking for a picture that embodies what I want just in case...And I finally decided to just give you a site, I love this photographer and the ways she uses b/w and other tons!

how i would remove a background from a picture, and turning it white, leaving only the person in the foreground unchanged. I can think of some pretty simple ways, but im looking for a way that makes a seamless transition from the orginal person in the picture to the white background without any jagged lines.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI need to create a header for my blog, which I've done and uploaded it here; testertown.blogspot.com (it's just to design the template before uploading). In the Photoshop window it comes up brilliant white background, brilliant colors.
But when I upload it it's like it has a grey haze over it? I'm using Photoshop 9, and have never had any trouble before, I got rid of the blog template I've been using to see if it's being caused by that but no luck. I've tried uploading the image to photo bucket and then inserting it like that, still the same.
I've tried using a transparent background, upping the contrast and brightness of the whole image, starting with a white background in all of the available options: CMYK, Lab, RGB.
I've created a blog header before and it's come out white, with no problems or altering. I have downloaded fonts which I'm using as the header, but the whole image is grey, not just the font area.
I have a project that requires a watercolor illustration to merge with a colored (imaged) background, so I need the white of the illustration to drop out. This isn't a Magic Wand, Select Color Range, or any 'selection' issue like that. I need a sophisticated color-to-alpha plugin that will render the white (or any color, I suppose), to transparent. Needs to be Mac compatible... seen some for Windows, but can't use them.

However, every time I attempt to replace the color with White, it shows up as a gray instead. Not sure what's going on, it seems like I've checked all my color settings, and if I try to replace with any other color it works just fine... its only with the WHITE that I'm having trouble making the change.

I do this every couple of months this will be the 4th time or so. Each time I run into this same problem and kind of just fudge my way around, but I'm not having as much luck this time and can't move forward to printing.
each sheet is a series of 20 coupons or so like seen above but when i export to jpg some of the coupons come out like this:
the white layers (there are two) both go transparent and the background paper image leaks through. as you can see in the after shot, in the upper right, some white is preserved (the shadow in a link file, but the white under 408 is an illustrator shape)
I've tried changing the white to 1%k or 1%c 1%m 1%y 1%k and things. usually fiddling with it like this in serveral random ways gets it to work eventually.
Let's say I have a square with a gradient fill of 30% gray to white. I have a background that I have imported to make the paper look old and weathered. If I place this background behind the gradient filled square, the square looks grayish and will print this way. Instead what I want is for the gradient filled square to show the color of the background rather than gray.
If I print the old and weathered background first and then run the paper through the printer again with the gradient filled square, it has the effect I want. Is there a way to do get this effect without having to print the background first and then print it again?
My question is: How do I change the colors of the default white-and-gray grid behind pictures (the one shown when you have a transparent or blank area in your picture)? I'm asking this because I'm trying to design some glass-like icons (that use a transparent white on the edges), and due to the white areas on the grid behind the picture it's very hard to see the separate pixels. Is there possibly any way to change these colors to, say, black or something, so I can see what I'm editing better?

So the motorcycle would be all white but stay within the bounds of the current lines of the bike. I did some digging and it looks like I need to add a layer mask which I did without any luck. When I add a layer mask which option should I choose?

Our company plotted some PDFs using Publish, DWG to PDF and all the text came out fine but when our customer views the text in Bluebeam some of it is replaced by little white squares. It also prints out on their end with the little squares.

Whenever I try to use the 'Colour to Alpha' tool, while it works on most of the image, I always get little white dots left behind, and have to spend ages use the eraser tool to get rid of them.
