I'm trying to make white walls. I set the whiteness to the highest, and in the material editor it looks fine, but on the object it's light gray (I know that the material is applied correctly because I can change the color and it shows up).
View 9 RepliesI made a simple logo in pcs5 using RGB saving as jpeg then uploading into blog. The white has a grey hue. I calibrated my mac and checked my color setting in photoshop. I tried CMYK and saving for web and other devices. I did research online and I have had no luck. I even opened another logo, from a different blog, that has a simular setup to mine, into pcs5, saved it and uploaded to the blog to check and it too was greyish. The image is RGB white and looks completely white in preview and pcs5. I just uploaded the image here and it looks okay. Looking at it from an angle and I can see the shadow.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to create a header for my blog, which I've done and uploaded it here; testertown.blogspot.com (it's just to design the template before uploading). In the Photoshop window it comes up brilliant white background, brilliant colors.
But when I upload it it's like it has a grey haze over it? I'm using Photoshop 9, and have never had any trouble before, I got rid of the blog template I've been using to see if it's being caused by that but no luck. I've tried uploading the image to photo bucket and then inserting it like that, still the same.
I've tried using a transparent background, upping the contrast and brightness of the whole image, starting with a white background in all of the available options: CMYK, Lab, RGB.
I've created a blog header before and it's come out white, with no problems or altering. I have downloaded fonts which I'm using as the header, but the whole image is grey, not just the font area.
Let's say I have a square with a gradient fill of 30% gray to white. I have a background that I have imported to make the paper look old and weathered. If I place this background behind the gradient filled square, the square looks grayish and will print this way. Instead what I want is for the gradient filled square to show the color of the background rather than gray.
If I print the old and weathered background first and then run the paper through the printer again with the gradient filled square, it has the effect I want. Is there a way to do get this effect without having to print the background first and then print it again?
My question is: How do I change the colors of the default white-and-gray grid behind pictures (the one shown when you have a transparent or blank area in your picture)? I'm asking this because I'm trying to design some glass-like icons (that use a transparent white on the edges), and due to the white areas on the grid behind the picture it's very hard to see the separate pixels. Is there possibly any way to change these colors to, say, black or something, so I can see what I'm editing better?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to CS6 and WIN8. When I Open an image from ACR in 16-bit TIFF and select a tool in Image>Adjustment and begin processing, the background changes from gray to a flashing white checkerboard pattern and the images disappears. What have I missed in the setup?

However, every time I attempt to replace the color with White, it shows up as a gray instead. Not sure what's going on, it seems like I've checked all my color settings, and if I try to replace with any other color it works just fine... its only with the WHITE that I'm having trouble making the change.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm laying out a drawing. I use a visual style with facet edges and occluded edges dashed and intersection edges dashed. To give my lines hidden fo fabricators to know witch way to face angle iron and so on. But here is the big problem i do a veiw port with 4 shots 1 isometric solid 1 top hidden lines front hidden lines and right hidden lines. so first time i plot it, it will work fine then i go back to plot then the lines ither become not shown at all or they will be solid. even know the veiwport still shows them as hidden lines. If I delete the veiwport and make a new veiport all over again it will work for a single print then will not show it all over again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy company is switching from ctb files to stb files. With the ctb file, we make concrete hatch with two layers. A top layer with the concrete hatch pattern and a background layer with a solid hatch patern. The ctb file concrete plots the concete hatch black and the solid background hatch light gray. I am using civil 3d 2013 and the hatch allows a seperate background color mask. I am trying to make all my concrete layers (Top of Curb, Curb Flowline, etc.) a certain color scheme, i.e. shades of green. I would like my on screen concrete hatch patern to be a green color with a gray background, but plot the concrete hatch black with a gray background. I can not figure out how to do this without making two layers. Is there a way to use one layer and utilize the background color mask to show on screen green and gray, but plot black and gray?

Example: CTRL+click on grey channel theoreticly (by my theory) make selection from white depending on its value. So cuting out must leave transparent greyscale image. But it don't (okey, it do, but changes black value):
The same selection inverted and filled with 100%K gives correct result: Is my "theory" about CTRL+click selection wrong? Becouse for my point of view, both ways should give same result.

In 8-bit mode, only some of the "grays" have a mismatching B value and there seems to be more of them when the gradient is created by Gradient Tool than when it is a Gradient Fill layer. The difference seems to be 1 in the cases that I've seen.
In 16-bit mode, I see the B differ from R and G by 7 at black, gradually reducing to 0 at white.
Before someone says, "Why make a fuss about small discrepancies?", I'm asking why there is any difference at all.

What I want is, I want to generate some (around 6-8) texture files within the original texture file - so the colors of all the texture files remain same but only the texture varies.Likewise there are more than 500 texture files and I just can't do them manually. Is there any way out to do this in Photoshop?

Something like a cracked mud look. I would be using this for a game I'm making form some terrain textures. Are there any plugins that would aid in making these transparent cracks and perhaps even add depth to the cracks?

In both Photoshop and Illustrator the gray colors look brown. However, in Fireworks and other programs the gray colors look gray. Any color management settings to fix this?

How do i set autocad (2012/2013) to do this. I would like the model space to be the same and not just for printing.
I have a multilayered psd file. All layers should remain opaque except the black to white gradient layer where I need the white to be transparent. So that when I place the final psd on top of a block of solid colour in Indesign the gradient shows the background colour through where the black fades off.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using a pdf underlay to trace over and whenever the crosshair or pickbox enters a white area it does not shift color to black to remain visible. This leaves me picking randomly trying to guess where the crosshair or pickbox is. If I change the 3dconfig to disable hardware acceleration, the color shifts, but the pdf is whited out. Not to mention the fact that by disabling hardware acceleration, I'm wasting the expensive video card on the machine. Is there a workaround? updated driver? service pack?

I'm using PSE8. I was using Filter>Render>Clouds and it was working for me. I must have done something because the clouds that are rendered are black & white not Blue and white. My photo is of course a color image. How I can correct this or what I need to do to get back to the default setting that will render blue & white instead of black and white?
