Mar 25, 2012I have been trying desperately to change a feather boa from white to black in Photoshop, but it does not look realistic no matter what I do! Tried everything - selecting using the pen tool, refining edges, layers, hue/saturation etc etc. There must be a way to make them black and look realistic? This is the pic I am working with.

Jan 28, 2005I've seen tons of photos in black and white that look spectacular. I have a feeling a lot are taken with black and white film, but some must be turned b/w! My question then is how do you achieve this awesome b/w in photoshop? For a while I just turned it grayscale (i know, i know.) Then I just desaturated. And recently someone told me to make a hue/sat adjustment layer and play with each of the different shades. After playing with all these ways I haven't been able to get the effects I want. I tried browsing around looking for a picture that embodies what I want just in case...And I finally decided to just give you a site, I love this photographer and the ways she uses b/w and other tons!

May 16, 2006how i would remove a background from a picture, and turning it white, leaving only the person in the foreground unchanged. I can think of some pretty simple ways, but im looking for a way that makes a seamless transition from the orginal person in the picture to the white background without any jagged lines.

May 9, 2013I have an A3 sized times 3 artboard file that I want to save out at 300ppi so that I can print it at A1 without losing much quality. I do this every couple of months this will be the 4th time or so. Each time I run into this same problem and kind of just fudge my way around, but I'm not having as much luck this time and can't move forward to printing.
each sheet is a series of 20 coupons or so like seen above but when i export to jpg some of the coupons come out like this:
the white layers (there are two) both go transparent and the background paper image leaks through. as you can see in the after shot, in the upper right, some white is preserved (the shadow in a link file, but the white under 408 is an illustrator shape)
I've tried changing the white to 1%k or 1%c 1%m 1%y 1%k and things. usually fiddling with it like this in serveral random ways gets it to work eventually.

Jun 14, 2006I recently just got Photoshop CS2 and there are some of the simpliest things that I cannot figure out. I use to have Photoshop Elements 4.0 and these things were easy as pie, oh well, hope you can help.
On CS2, I cannot find the selection brush tool anywhere! could someone tell me where it is located. Or if there is a better tool that has "replaced it" and does the same thing?
Also, when I move images into another "box" it isn't giving me the outline of the image where I can easily resize it and turn the image at an angle. Is there something I need to do to make it give me the outline [sorry, I dont know the actual word for what it is called]?

Jan 20, 2013i just made an outline of a drawing with the pen tool. I finished and i started coloring the image and noticed that the Anti-Aliasing was on during the time i did the outline so now i have a border around where i filled in color that's transparent.
Is there any way (shy from doing the outline all over again with the "anti-aliasing" box un-checked) that i can just turn all those lines to non-anti-aliasing lines?

Jan 21, 2013I am trying to make a crack wall texture effect on some text in illustrator cs6.
I have some crack texture photoshop brushes I really like, so I brushed on a blank psd canvas and saved it to PNG with transparent background.
I placed that in illustrator and image traced it so that it would create the paths for the cracked effect, but I can't seem to get it to make the paths for me.
I'm trying to do this so I can use the outlined brushes to erase the text layer with the traced crack png, removing the proper paths from the text layer so the text layer is now transparent where those cracks are.

Printing a mirrored image on transfer paper and printing another image with laser but a "NEGATIVE". Mar 9, 2013I was trying to teach myself to use gradients the other day... And now when I start a new project and try to paste in a photo as a new layer, it pastes as the gradient instead.
I have opened up both the gradients dialog and the gradients editor but cannot turn it off. In fact, when I open a brand new (empty) file, I can see the gradient attached to my pointer (mouse).

May 6, 2012I'm using ACAD 2013, and for the first time since I installed it a month or so ago, I opened AutoTrack (by mistake). Now whenever I double click an AutoCAD file, it will automatically open in in AutoTrack, unless I open AutoCAD and open the file that way. It may be a coincidence, but my viewcube has just stopped working, and has become a static, unselectable image - like a fuzzy stamp on my drawing. I can't click or right click on it, and when I zoom, it doesn't stay in the same place at the same size, like it's supposed to.
This was happening when I was using 2012 too, but stopped after I installed 2013. As I said, it has just started up again after I opened AutoTrack by mistake.

Why can´t someone invent a sigle button for this I have tried all the things by the book but still when I try to lay text image with white background over an image the white is still there althoug I made it transparent. tried to sa for web as png-8, png-24 and gif. nothing works. To use magic wand gives bad result when applied to text? So what can I do? I am trying to place text over image. I know I could write it over the image but I need the text as a transparent layer some place else.

Aug 19, 2004I'm tring to create an image using color from transparent to white without any background. I want to use that image in an application where the user select a color and the fadding creates a nice effect with any color (because the image has a color from transparent to white so if the user select blue then image will appear from blue to white and so on). I can't seem able to do that in Photoshop (tried with gif and png). The result gives me a white image whithout any transparancy.
