...because I can not find the multi color gradient tool, plugin, killer robots, nothing.
I used the search function but it yielded nothing. I am working(playing really)
I'm trying to find in Paint.NET the functions I use often:
1) How to straighten photos, using an horizontal line or a geometrical figure (I tried yet the radius straighten, but the photos are deformed then)
2) Some info on how to add a transparency layer and how to "colour" an area with transparent background;
3) How to make a gradient of two or more colours with advanced settings;
4) How to cut an area of a photo with precision (point-to point system and point to point "guided" based on colour tollerance levels; magic wand seems not to cut and then I haven't a firm hand);
5) Additional plugins for photo editing (borders, frames, artistic effects, etc.)
I downloaded and installed the Shaped Gradient Plugin from here:

Installed in the Effects folder as per usual.
When I restarted PDN (several times) and I just can't seem to find where the plugin is. I have been through the Effects and submenus with a fine tooth comb each time but it's not there....
Using Paint.NET v3.5.10 (Final Release build 3.510.4297.28964)
Imagine you have a picture with some parts (surfaces) in a XXX specific color. How to easily select only all these parts to modify their color?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I click, using the gradient tool, a nub appears and no color appears. As I drag my mouse, the first nub remains and a second nub appears, following the cursor. At no time does the gradient itself appear. I've tried rebooting the program. it doesn't work. I've never had this problem before using the gradient tool.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I decided to figure out how to create a random noise map type thing in paint.net. I somewhat used a tutorial, but basically I posterized cloud rendering.
However, Now I want to change the color based on a gradient through the middle. (horizontal.) I can figure out how to set up a gradient and change its properties in a different layer.
Also I have troubles getting plugins to work for some reason. Tried one for tiling but it brought up a stupid downloader that didn't show me the text.
EDIT: Color=Hue.
Rather than fill a shape with a solid color, I want to be able to fill it with a gradient color. How might I do this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm relatively new to using paint.net for original image creation from scratch. I've been doing a few of the tutorials on the forums as way to learn how and I've run into an issue with "atmosphere" glow in the many planet tutorials.
I've been making a mars like planet as an experiment however when I create and atmosphere glow I can't create a glow which is more pronounced on the light ward side of the planet but not visible on the dark side of planet similar to the atmosphere in this image
[URL].......
I've created a separate atmosphere glow layer however I can't seems to limit it using a gradient tool on the darker side. I just get one continuous glow around the whole edge of the sphere.
I can only use the gradient tool in one instance. After that, the first instance is removed and replaced with the new instance. How can I apply multiple instances of the gradient tool on the same image?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that the Gradient Tool won't show up when inside a Live Paint group, which makes it difficult to edit gradients. Is it supposed to be like this?
It is still possible to edit the gradient using the Gradient Panel, but I prefer to use the Gradient Tool instead because of it's direct approach.
Also, when selecting multiple areas within a Live Paint group to fill with a gradient, I don't seem to be able to Alt+Drag with the Gradient Tool in order to fill each selection with it's own gradient. It always ends up with one gradient being applied across all of the selections.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a new user to paint.net, because the tool I used for complex image manipulation does not run on the OS of my new machine. Although I could easily purchase the newest version, I needed work on some pictures now. Paint.net was easily available and does most of the thins I need at the moment. In addition, it is officially supported at my work place, so it's a good idea to learn how to use it.
Paint.net has some great features and a cute UI, but there are some issues I would like to see improved. The one at the top of my list is the font preview. I am doing some text on a number of pictures and want to check out some fonts. Unfortunately I can't change the sample text in the font list (at least I do not know how).
However, meanwhile I found a even better function (actually the way I would like to see it). When the font list is open, I can scroll through the list and the text will instantly updated. Cool.
Great thing would be to move the color picker out from the tool box into the color selection, so that it would be always available. Also it would be useful to not only pick one pixel sometimes but the average of a greater area.
I have CS5. The bugs and broken features in AICS6, make it unusable in my workflow.
I am specifically concerned about the inability to drag global color swatches from the color panel to Gradient stops in the Gradient Panel. I use this method to update a gradient color because I find it MUCH faster than option-dragging to duplicate a stop color, then deleting the unused stop. Since I do this constantly, I find using CS6 very tedious.
The other day, Photoshops started acting a little funny. Specifically, when using the paint tool, I'll hit option (alt) to sample a color to the foreground but it is sampling to the background instead. I have tried to reset all tools and no dice. How i can reverse this? it is screwing up my whole blending procress.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a multi-body part and want to find the both faces which divide the bodys. The first face I pick with the "SelectSet" command.The second one the program should find on its own.
If I pick a boundary face, it should give an error.
One attempt is to create a point on the first face and use the "LocateUsingPoint". But is there a more elegant way for this task?
(Unfortunately there are little examples of the topic multi-body parts.)
I've been learning about skinning and weight painting. I have a problem where I don't see any color feedback on my mesh when I paint it. My vertices move with my brush strokes but I'm basically painting blindly as I can't see the colors. In all tutorials that i've found on the subject, they just activate the tool and the mesh turns black (or colorful depending on their settings)

View 6 Replies View RelatedOne of my soap box rants is about Owners Manuals and user guides. Most are a direct translation from the Japanese or Mandarin.
The VS User Manual also is fairly useless as it glosses over the useful detail. (previous query about files used by VS) In this case the Multi Trim tool has two unexplained buttons, the Ad-Zapper and the Merge CF.
I suppose the Ad-Zapper relates to our overwhelming desire to eliminate commercial breaks. (Have you noticed how much longer they have become in recent months? At least one brew and a slice of toast before the program restarts) But what is Merge CF? And how does Ad-Zapper know what is program and what is an Ad?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an image that uses about 20 different colors (there are 2 colors that dominate the image). I want to reduce the image to just those 2 main colors. How can I do that in Photoshop CS2 or Illustrator CS2?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a long time I have been struggling to find a good workflow for what I would call "multi channel color separation". What I want is to reduce a full color RGB image into an image with only a limited number (e.g. 5-8) well-chosen colors, for instance to use as set of masks for screen print. (I'd also like to use this as an effect in itself, mimicking a typical 'screen print' or 'litho' effect on an inkjet print)
The idea is to create a set of monochrome layers or spot color channels. Colors are to be selected by myself (so not necessarily RGB or CMYK). Each channel/layer has to be a continuous tone that I transform myself into a dedicated half tone screen (e.g. with the Andromeda screen filter).
Till sofar it is clear to me. My issue is: How to separate the image in the predefined set of colors?
I can not just select a color range: I can adjust a "tolerance" but that is too general. I need the pixels of with a specific hue but with the full range of lightness (e.g. all the purple pixels that range from dark/medium purple to very light purple). The dark colors can be made dark with a black channel. I'm not sure how to deal with the saturation range.
An approach that gives sometimes a result that is to some extent acceptable is to transfer from RGB mode to an Indexed Color mode and use a custom palette. However, this does not give much control on the halftone screening process.
I envision for instance an approach of filling a layer with a solid given color, select in one way or another only those parts that correspond to the original image and subtract that layer somehow from the image. This process is then to be repeated for each color. Up till now I have not been able to figure the right options to do this. But maybe there is a better way to do it.
One final wish: it would be great if the process can take into account that some layers in the final print are (semi-)transparent. In my opinion this would exclude just selecting a color and deleting de pixels.
Trying to change the blue color in this abstract image (see image) to a much darker green (pantone 561) Any way to do this easily? I am not coming to close to this new darker green color.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have modeled a house. It consists of a number of elements created on different layers with different colors. When I generate a section block it is only in one color, this makes it hard to distinguish different elements. Manually changing the colors of each line is out of the question.
How can I generate a section witch keeps the colors of the elements defined by the color of the layer which they occupy?
I require an equally spaced fine line shading in an extrusion. I will take you through my process and then get to the problem.
I create an object (usually curved text), extrude it and break the extrusion apart; then I use the fill tool and open fill color dialog, change to palettes and select black, 20%; next I click on options and select Postscript options, from there I select line and an angle and frequency. This produces exactly the fine line shading I need, when I print it on my postscript printer.
The problem is that when I save the file as an .eps or .ai file to send to another prepress, the screen in their file always show up as dots not lines. I have not been able to find a way around this, the other fill types use tiling and that does not produce the same consistent shading.
