May 21, 2012I wrote my signature on piece of paper, then scanned it in, removed the white background, leaving just the signature in blue ink on a transparent background and saved it as a .gif. HOWEVER, I need to make the signature darker blue. I've used clipping masks in the past, but cannot figure how to do this in Paint.net.
I made duplicate copy of the original .gif, then created a layer and filled it with a darker blue. What do I do from here so that when I put the layers together the signature is darker, but the background is still translucent?

Aug 31, 2012I created some shape with line tool and added extrude modifier to it. After being converted to editable poly I want edges to be slightly softer. But turbo smooth creates a big mess. Swift loop won't work. Is it because sides are single polygons? Is there an easy way to add edges inside them?

Jul 22, 2013What I have is a shape which uses a pantone colour. However, the background is also the same pantone colour and I'd like it to stay 100% tint of that colour. What I'd like is for the top shape to be darker than the background even though it uses the same PMS colour.
I've tried to do some reading about it, but couldn't quite get the answer I was looking for. I have my .ai file set to Overprint View and have given Multiply a try, but it doesn't look any different.

However, it's driving me CRAZY because the type and shape cursors are a super small and a light gray in color. It's very difficult for me to track the cursor with my eyes when it is small and gray on a gray and white artboard. Is there some way to make the cursors more easily visible? Sep 4, 2012With the burn tool one can use it several ways. The direct way is to just click on the tool and select whether you want highlights, mid-tones, or shadows. Each option changes the burn shade slightly. Also there are a host of blend modes which again changes the burn shade.
One can also create a burn layer and change blend modes, all with different effects. Then you can also use the brush tool and select color burn or color dodge, with the foreground color changing the shade of the burn.So all of these options give a great deal of control, but frankly I am just burned out on the process.
All I want is to have the burn deepen the color to more closely match the color in the shadows of the picture. It seems to work better on flesh and soft colors than on bright colors. In those cases I give up and resort to a brush in normal mode with color selected by eyedropper. But that can make the image more muddy as it covers up rather than intensify.
So wilh all the man-years of experience out there is there a more simple way to get the correct burn shade than going though 49 different variations? Or should I just stick with the brush and use a different blend mode?

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Faint Printing - How To Make Prints Darker
Apr 3, 2012I have been using Corel for printing customized shipping labels and flyers in B & W. I use Arial or Times New Roman ttf fonts for printing labels and texts and print out with a laser printer. I did not have any problem in the past up to CorelDraw X4. . All text came out black with X4. Recently, i upgraded to Coreldraw X5. When I printed shipping labels and texts with X5 in the same way as I have been doing with X4, the labels came out in faint prints. I could not use shipping labels printed with X5 for mailing out. I repeated installing X4 and X5. I see that something is wrong with X5. All labels and simple text prints are faint with X5. On the other hand, printing with X4 came out charcoal dark. I installed X5 on both home and office computers. Both gave the idential results. My computer runs Windows 7 professional. Printers are HP (office) or Samsung (home) laser printers. How to make prints darker? I am only concerned B & W print (not color because I did not try color printing yet).

Feb 22, 2013making a GIF with PP. I'm working on a really simple one, I have a background, and I have an object that I want to move into the frame, then back out of the frame. Then loop.
Do I really have to combine the moving object with the back ground EVERY single frame?
Is there a way to say take this object over this many frames and move it from here to there?
Is there a way to save the position of the object in each frame without combining it to the background each time? I'd like to set it, go to the next frame, move it, go to the next frame, move it, repeat.
