Jun 8, 2011I was wondering how do you make an object see through but not invisible.

making a GIF with PP. I'm working on a really simple one, I have a background, and I have an object that I want to move into the frame, then back out of the frame. Then loop.
Do I really have to combine the moving object with the back ground EVERY single frame?
Is there a way to say take this object over this many frames and move it from here to there?
Is there a way to save the position of the object in each frame without combining it to the background each time? I'd like to set it, go to the next frame, move it, go to the next frame, move it, repeat.

Are there any plugins that make a shadow or a slightly darker color around the edges of an object?

I've tried the different options in the 3D drop down menu but none of them bring me to edit in repousse.
Also, I know that I can make it 3D in After Effects my making multiples of it and what not but I don't want to go about it that way. Also, I'm working with CS5.5 and the 3D renderer plugin in After Effects is only available in CS6.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the words Kuhns Creations here, it is going to be the logo for my website. In the end the letters will all be the light blue color that "Kuhns" is right now, I'm just using the different colors to explain my problem. I want the pink part of the "C" to be in front of the "K", but I want the black part of the "C" to be behind the "K", giving the illusion that the "C" is passing through the "K" (this will only be visible cause of the drop shadows on both letters, since they wil both be the same color) Is there a way to do this?
I got this effect in Photoshop, but I need to do it with vectors because the size of the image that has to be uploaded to my website is so small that you lose all detail if its a bitmap (52 pixels x 103 pixels) In addition to the effect explained above I am trying to get a bevel effect. In Photoshop it works and is easy to do but in illustrator the settings are all different and anything I enter looks totally different.
The settings that I'm using in Photoshop are: Style: inner bevel, technique: smooth, depth: 1%, direction: up, size 10 px, soften 0 px, angle:,120 degrees, altitude: 30 degrees, highlight mode: screen, Opacity: 75%, shadow mode: multiply, Opacity:75%. How do I get this same effect in illustrator?
1. After creating a clip mask can I view it without the actual object also being visible?
2. Can I paste one object into the clip mask of a different object?
I have one object and want to paste behing another object i.e. object will be pasted behind the fense, how can i do this.

Plus, in the end my pattern looks too regular, not very natural. Here is part of the image whose look I'm trying to recreate (400% and 100%).

I need to transform this sheet of paper with shape tool. I need it in a few different transformed versions for later animation.
Any option that I've tried does not work: Group option, arrange -> shaping options ...
Shape tool works with one object, so I don't know how to make one object from several different object or there is some another way
image editing in general, so I'm not sure what how to really say what mean because I don't know the correct terms (If there are any).
The most I can do to clarify what I mean is offer two examples. The first is a picture I found:
[URL]
The sunlight hits her head at the very top right of the image and transitions from white (direct sunlight) to brown (indirect sunlight) to black (almost no sunlight). Also, the light directly touches her hands and legs (white) and then transitions to indirect (pink).
The second example I can offer is on this very forum. On the header, if you look at the larger GIMP dog balloon (I think they're dogs, anyway...) you can see the white oval on top of the purple-ish nose. If you look at the top of the nose, right before it transitions to the black outline, you see an almost reflection-like effect.
Is there a function in GIMP to do this? Or, at least, some sort of work-around?
I want to make an object oscillate. I know of the "param curve out-of-range types">loop but this makes the object oscillate at time=0 to infinity.
How do I make my object oscillate:
1) stationary from time=0 to x
2) then oscillate at time=x to infinity?

I'm looking for a way to make an object (in my case a kind of girder) slowly appear in animation. I mean that in first frame there is nothing visible and then frame by frame object grows untill it's visible completely. I thougt I could make it by cutting the girder into parts and then "fly" them one by one into position to create the final object. But is there any way to make it smooth, like gradient from nothing to whole?

I am wondering if there is a way to make the apple look transparent, but not transparent to the others so that the apples look more like they do on the right (not going through each other). I understand these are completely solid, but I was wondering if there is a way to make an object look like it's transparent, but not be able to go through another object.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a logo which appears in the footers of all of our technical manuals. Word recognizes it as a picture, and so our printer prints it in color, not black and white, so we are charged for the color copies.
I have exhausted my options in Word, and have been trying to create it as a TrueType font in DRAW, so word just thinks it's a symbol, not a picture.
The only file I have of the logo is a .bmp, so I've been tracing it to get it into vector form to manipulate. However, after all of my welding, combining, front minus back ect. ect. ect., I still can't get it down to the "1 object" requirement to make it a font.
Here's the logo:

I am designing a logo, and have used a gimp script to create (a) the text that I need, and (b) a ring to enclose it. The ring is in a separate layer with a transparent background (I set the entire background to Alpha), and it surrounds the text. I created the ring using a script to transform a letter 'O' into a 'glassy' style object, which I then resized into an oval of the correct size and shape using the 'scale layer' tool.
The logo looks OK, but would be much improved if I could make the surrounding ring thinner. The ring has a 'glassy' effect which is just what I want, but it is a little on the chunky side. It would look much better if I could transform it to be about half the thickness that it currently is, to match the slimmer text inside the ring. I would like to do this without losing the 'glassy' effect of the ring.
I have already tried creating the ring with the thinnest font I could find that gave me the right shape, but this doesn't go quite far enough. Is there any way that I can thin the ring so that it keeps it's size, position and 'glassy' effect, but ends up with a thickness of about 50% of it's current width? Effectively, I just want to transform a fat ring into a skinny ring!
i'm trying to make an object have a rotation animation.. i did this by making duplicates and rotating them different angles. When i save it and play the gif, it shows each frame show up and overlay one after the other. I want to only show one frame at a time. How do i do this? Here:

View 7 Replies View RelatedHow do you make the background of an object transparent in Adobe Illustrator?
I have been having issues with using the Magic Wand tool in Adobe Illustrator as well as the lasso tool.
Basically, I am trying to put a small graphic into a new Illustrator file.
The first thing I tried to do is to use the magic wand tool. But I found out that this did not work on a jpeg image since it did not have any individual objects to select.
So I tried something new. I opened the file in Adobe Photoshop and used the lasso tool to select an area. Then I coped this area. Then I tried to paste it into Adobe Illustrator. But the background was not transparent for the pasted image.
How do I make the background transparent.
I made this small video to show what I am talking about: [URL] .....
