View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been building up a multi-object 3D environment for learning purposes. My current intent is to add gold ring. Trouble is, I can't seem to make the gold color of the ring very rich at all.
It will only get slightly gold colored and reflections don't seem to be tinted at all. Seems to me I solved this once before but I'll be darned if I can remember how.
What have I forgotten to do to get the gold ring to absorb blue light and reflect white things with a deep gold tint?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a logo that I am working with and I need to make it a 3D object for what I'm doing in After Effects. I am trying to make it 3D so I can edit it in repousse because all I really need to do is extrude it.
I've tried the different options in the 3D drop down menu but none of them bring me to edit in repousse.
Also, I know that I can make it 3D in After Effects my making multiples of it and what not but I don't want to go about it that way. Also, I'm working with CS5.5 and the 3D renderer plugin in After Effects is only available in CS6.
I would like a tutorial about making a toned metal!
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a bracket within Inventor, in order to get the head of the bracket correct (so that it will fit into a bar) I want to derive the bar and use it to cut the slots needed.
Although I have had some problems with this due to the bracket being sheet metal for bend radius reasons.
I do not use the sheet metal tools in IV all that often so I fully expect that I have done something completely wrong.
I have a sheet metal part that in the folded part view looks like this:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a number of flat pannels (roughtly 4x5 feet) that need a 3/4" x-crimp (basically push out the center 3/4"). Is there an easy way to do this? I'm having a bit of trouble figuing it out. I have a lot of pannels to make, all different sizes so it needs to be easy to change the basic pannel size.
I can make the pannel with conventional tools easy enough but then the flange (and other sheet metal tools) won't work (says it's not a sheet metal edge even though it is the same thickness).
I'm on 2014.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with a part that I wont to convert to sheetmetal and make a drawing with bend annotations.
Converting the part goes fine but the flat pattern is only a "semi-flat-pattern" 2 of the 4 bends doesn't unfold.
I have a 8mm plate and the internal radius is 2mm and the external radius is 10mm and the bend angel is 10 degrees sow everything should be fine.
But how to add the last to bends to make my flat pattern unfold correctly?

In the end the letters will all be the light blue color that "Kuhns" is right now, I'm just using the different colors to explain my problem. I want the pink part of the "C" to be in front of the "K", but I want the black part of the "C" to be behind the "K", giving the illusion that the "C" is passing through the "K" (this will only be visible cause of the drop shadows on both letters, since they wil both be the same color) Is there a way to do this?
I got this effect in Photoshop, but I need to do it with vectors because the size of the image that has to be uploaded to my website is so small that you lose all detail if its a bitmap (52 pixels x 103 pixels) In addition to the effect explained above I am trying to get a bevel effect. In Photoshop it works and is easy to do but in illustrator the settings are all different and anything I enter looks totally different.
The settings that I'm using in Photoshop are: Style: inner bevel, technique: smooth,depth: 1%, direction: up, size 10 px, soften 0 px, angle:,120 degrees, altitude: 30 degrees, highlight mode: screen, Opacity: 75%, shadow mode: multiply, Opacity:75%. How do I get this same effect in illustrator?
I am using IV 2010. I am trying to make a 5/8" sheet metal piece with the surfaces shown. I have tried to thicken the surfaces but do not get the results I am looking for. After the surfaces are thickened I need them to be able to lay flat with flat pattern command.

I am wondering if there is a way to make the apple look transparent, but not transparent to the others so that the apples look more like they do on the right (not going through each other).
