where do I find layer dimensions for each layer in CS6? e.g. I might have the image of a table superimposed on the background, but just want the pixcel-based dimensions of the table?
View 3 RepliesI have a scanner issue and wanted to load a psd to show the problem (600 almost looks better than 1200) but when I upload, it gets rejected. It's ~21 M.
Another issue re: scanners. Mine only has jpeg, bitmap, png and a few other file types. These are actual photographs and I'd like to scan them in RAW.
I am using CorelDraw X4 and I am having problems printing exact sizes. The printer I am using is the HP designjet Z6100 (42 inch). Recently I tried to print a sign that needed to be exactly 17inches but it came out 16.5inches. When I clicked on the image it said that it was 17inches, but does not print correctly.

These larger sizes will not upload to my Picasa Web Albums. Why are they different sizes? Some are only taken on my iphone and are the larger size and others are on my SLR and are the small size.

Is there an option that lets you find out the width and height of a selected layer? I know of tricks to do this, like copying it and making a new image and checking the size there, but I want to know if there is a way to do this without creating a new image and just inside your own image your working on.
I'd like to find out the amount of all non-transparent pixels in a layer. For example, if there was a 100x100 box and a 50x50 box in one layer, I'd like to get the number 12.500 without having to count every pixel.
Why? I've bought myself a copy of "Homepage Usability - 50 websites deconstructed" by Jacob Nielsen & Marie Tahir. One nice idea I found in it was a break down of used screen estate. How much of the website is navigation, how much selfpromotion, useful content, and so on.
I've come as far as simulating the graphics for Amazon by putting each screen estate category on its own layer. What I'd like to do now is somehow get the percentage of that certain category. Like how much percent - compared to the size of the whole image - of the layer "Navigation" are non-transparent?
I'm working with two layers how do I change the size of one of them and not the other.

I would like to know how I can find a dimension that's created with the command (with the internal command name) "Create3DLinearDimension".
This command is used to create a linear dimension on a view that has the default dimension type set to "True".

Example: I am building a mockup of a Website at 1000x620. After adding photos and free transforming them, I would like to know what the size turned out to be so that I can now resize the original photo to place in the site.
I'm trying to create an album design that has a grid effect with all the images I have. But how to put specific dimensions on each layer..I've tried the image size option but its not working - do I need to free transform and try to figure it out dimensions free handed?? Surely not?

When I create an image layer (say 1.5 x 1.5 inches) and when I set that image onto a background (say 2.5 x 2.5 inches) the image expands to the larger background size.
Why? Or what am doing wrong that would cause this to happen. I recently upgraded from PSE 9 to PSE 12. This was never an issue with PSE 9.
Not sure if this is possible, maybe with some maths? So possibly via applescript.

I have multiple photographs I would like to create a video of. I want the fade affect to be applied to each picture, but so far I have only been able to update the fade on each idividual frame. how to duplicate the fade affect to all my frames.

I just bought the Intuos5 tablet and am now setting it up to work properly. It apparently has some issues with non-US keyboards and requires some shortcut remapping. Which wouldn't be a problem (I got brush size working), if only I could find the place where the layer cycling shortcuts are hidden.

When I open Photoshop Elements 10 Editor to edit a text layer on a 511KB 412x292 psd photo the text layer is not shown. How do I open the text layer? How do I edit the text layer? How do I save the finished work product? The background layer is locked. I can't unlock it. I have tried any number of approaches none of which open the text layer for editing.

There is an excellent script available for Photoshop which allows you to not only replace words in layer names, but also insert words as Prefixes, Suffixes and Sequential Numbers. The illustrator version of this script only allows sequential numbering: It doesn't offer find and replacing of words.
Ideally, it would be great if there was something that could do multiple find and replaces in one go:
(E.g.
You have layers like this Car, Dog, Bat
You enter: car(Option1), dog(Option2), Bat(Option3)
Your layers then become: Option1, Option2, Option3).

i have gotten a drawing from another user and have managed to purge all of thier layers except for one. I have deleted everything out of the drawing, done "select all" numerous times and deleted, but this layer still won't let itself be deleted. I have made sure it is not the current layer, w blocked the whole drawing etc. There was an ole image in this drawing at some stage, could that have left this horrible layer "25L"???

I was adding a lot of aligned dimensions to a drawing and some where along the way they changed from aligned dimensions to rotated dimensions, even in the same string of dimensions.

I created holes in the model as a 1/4" tapped hole
Yet when I show the dimensions in the drawing they show the minor dimension.
How do I get the 1/4" to show? I have selected the feature and still get these results.
