My quest: if your in a different layer working on adding walls for eg. You want add a dimension to that wall. When I hit DLI, How do I make sure that the dim i just entered goes directly to the DIM layer instead of the wall layer.

But how to put specific dimensions on each layer..I've tried the image size option but its not working - do I need to free transform and try to figure it out dimensions free handed?? Surely not?
If you can imagine U2s Achtung Baby (Or at a long shot: Exile On Main Street) That is where I'm headed (or TRYING to head rather) with it.
I have attach one drawing if you open and copy this from one place to place then dimension is automatically increases. can i know how this increase or what type of this dimension it is.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am looking to see if I missed a setting somewhere. I have hunted extensively, but the ability to set a view to a specific layer seems to be unavailable. What I woudl liek to be able to do is define the layer that the viewport is inserted on when I bring a view into a sheet using the sheetset manager. I love this system, but it does slow me down in that regard. If there is a setting or preference that I can switch to make that happen or am I going to have to write something to do it for me.

P23/L2/1
Could Tcount be used or is there a modified version available?
If not is there a quick way to automatically place a number block onto a drawing with a click and then for every other click sequentially increases the last number.
As advanced as my AutoCAD skills are I don't know how to specify the dimensions of a rectangle or square yet. How to know the prompts I need to follow after typing the 'rec' command in?
View 6 Replies View RelatedA coworker and I are having the same problem with dimensions. For example, we have a polyline that has been dimensioned and then we will either need to trim or break a small portion out. When we trim or break the line the dimensions on that line fly all over the place so we end up needed to re-dimension everything. We have had this problem in AutoCAD 2008, 2010, and 2011. Maybe we need to change a variable? The polylines have a zero Z-axis and it does not happen everytime we trim or break but enough to become annoying. Our CAD Manager had as try to disassociate the dimension, break the line, and then reassociate it but that didn't work; the dimensions were still shifted around.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just switched from Autocad 2007 to 2013. In 2007, when you move your mouse cursor on a vertice of a selected geometry, a rectangle for example, Autocad will automatically display the dimension of the geometry. This features seems to have been turned off by default. How to turn it back on?

I have already two programs for this, one for placing objects on curve with specific length and 2nd for pick & export coordinates to excel or other type of file. but this is very lengthy process & need too big time. but I think it cab be done in a single command written in lisp.
I cut and paste in place from a layer to an other and its not in the right place. it seems new since CS6
I have multiple artworks on my file but i could do it since then. do you now how to not talke care of it ?
If I want to place an object in illustrator cs6 on a specific place (for example rectangle, left above corner on X=14mm) and I fill this value in the transform field and I tap the enter button, illustrator places the object on X=14,033.
Why does illustrator do this and how can I avoid that illustrator adjusts my specific X / Y values?
Have Lisp to place aligned dimensions on each segment of a polyline?
I would use it for reinforcing bar detailing.
In older versions of elements I could assign a specific place tag. With elements 12 place tags appear to be referencing a MAP site. I do not want to do this, I does not flow with how I used place tags in the past.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn adobe photoshop, I know that there is a program that automatically resizes images for you.
I'm pretty sure there is program that automatically puts an image on each photo for you, that you choose in a folder.
Ex: How do you put your logo on the bottom of the right corner (or anywhere) on all the photos you put in a folder?
My job is making PDFs "ready for print" - checking colours, making sure overprint is on where needed, adding trapping where needed, etc. After I'm done doing this, I add a logo outside of the printable area as proof that I have checked the file and it's OK for print and the date. This is always on the same spot: 5mm left from the left edge of the design and 5mm below the lower edge.
Right now, I have to keep the Illustrator file with the logo/date open at all times, go there, copy the image, go back to the design I was working on, paste it and enter the values manually to be sure it's in the right place (and then edit the date, of course).
It's time consuming and I was wondering if there's a way to make Illustrator place the logo and date on a pre-determined location without having to keep the file open. I can't just make an action that "places" the file there because then, I can't edit the date anymore.
Is there a way to crop to a specific dimension? I have a 3888x2592 image and would like to crop it to 2400x1600. Problem I am having is I can get it to 2388x1589 or 2420x1619 or finally after many tries (over a minute of attempting) got it to 2399x1599. Is there any way to FORCE it to a specific dimension?
Also, on export I know you can resize an image, but are you able to apply a resize within lightroom itself?
I should run a script in Illustrator once a day, automatically at 23 p.m.

I basically want to create a brush or some other automatic method for adding a specific shape (in this case a circle) at every point a long a path. It would be nice if I could easily move around points on a path without have to move all of the circles independently.
I tried creating a pattern brush where the circles were the corner elements but depending on the angle of the corner the shape would get distorted.
I have an 8-bit image, 4800x3000 px, res 300 40.2M in size. I need to reduce it to 125K max, 640x480 px max, res 72. I must be doing something wrong because my result has lost all clarity.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had a simple lisp I've been using for years that suddenly disappeared. It required that you identify a block name, tag name, and the value that you want the tag to be. All of this is performed via command line, so it is scriptable. Since I lost it, I've been experimenting with -attedit. This command comes frustratingly close to what I'm looking for, except it only appends an existing tag, or replaces a specific string within the tag; I can't get it to replace the entire tag, regardless of its value.
1> Any lisp routine that does what I describe?
or
2> How to make -attedit replace a tag value without regard to what the value currently is (like a * wildcard)?
