Photoshop :: Interactive Button - Importing GIF Into After Effects
Nov 5, 2013
Using Photoshop CS6 on a MacBook Pro.
I know you can design a button in Photoshop, but can you create one that is also interactive? Say if you wanted to do an animation in Photoshop and you wanted a button to go to the next part of the animation?
Should I be importing the gif into After Effects and add the button there? Not sure how it works.
One of the features I was really looking forward to in CS6 was creating fillable forms with ONE application. I created a form following the step by step instructions in classroom in a book for CS6. When I opened the exported form in Reader X, I get a "This operation is not permitted" error. I opened the completed "end" document in the lesson to make sure I didn't commit an error, and I got the same message when exporting. I have looked for places in menus to modify security restrictions and I can't find any. I installed the updates and that didn't solve the issue.
I saw one solution posted which is to open the document in Acrobat, then do a "save as" option. Is there anything we can do that doesn't involve buying additional software? If this is not the case, then Adobe seriously needs to change its training and advertising about this functionality.
I have made a short film of 6 minutes (in 6 parts on after effects) I have added all the effects and the camera work on AE, but it needs a lot of editing here and there, which I find impossible to do on AE since you can't cut and join scenes like Premier pro. I need to import all these sequences onto premier pro for editing now. The problem is once I import the files, it imports in the right order in systematic folders etc, but it doesn't show any of the camera work or the special effects like gaussian blur etc. All my hard work has gone.
There must be a way you can import the after effects file on premier the way it looks on AE.
Another problem is I read some boards and it has been suggested to edit the clips first on premier and then add effects on AE but I read this really late and I've already composited the whole film on AE. I just need premier for cutting now.
P.S: I also thought about exporting the AE sequences as TGA files but there's ZERO space left in my internal hard disk for that, and it would take forever to export them all anyway. Any other kind of export would reduce the original quality which I dont want, and which I dont have space for anyway, so that option is out as well.
I'm working with a plugin that I need to edit the source code so it can run in NONINTERACTIVE mode. I have no problem compiling it from source - in fact have modified to suit our needs already - but cannot not grasp from GIMP documentation what modifications I need to make it run in NONINTERACTIVE mode. (We have very large images, need to batch process them ....)
I know that the shortcut keys to insert an in-point and out-point are Alt+[ and Alt+] - but is there actually a button to add these points in Adobe After Effects CS6? I'm terrible at remembering shortcut keys and can't believe that it doesn't appear at least somewhere on the toolbar?
I've discovered I have some video effects, like "Film Express" (which happens to be a NewBlue effect) in VSX2 that I don't have in VSX4. I'd like to use it but don't know how to import it and don't know where to find it, either. how I might move it over?
I have created a 3d object in photoshop that I want to bring into after effects CC and do a very simple 360 spin.
I have read that the 3d import is no longer available from CS6 onwards so I have downloaded Cinema 4D lite plugin for affer effects. I have managed to get the photoshop 3d object into Cinema 4d as I would expect but now I am struggling to find a way to export that object and import it into After Effects?
As I'm trying to learn more of my new programs, I finally came across a tutorial that covered the Live Effects. However, after I've open and created an object (star)(that's another story), I go to the Live Effects button (per the tutorial) but nothing opens. Left click, right click, nothing brings anything up.
Also, in the tutorial it started by drawing the star object...click the icon draw a star, and I get a 6-sided filled object. No star to be found. The oval and rectangular objects draw fine. But no star obect.
I'm at the point where I don't know what should or shouldn't be somewhere or if something is or isn't working. I understand that the Live Effects can be pointed to an external folder where 3rd-party plugins should go, but I was also getting the feeling that something came with the program install (per the tutorial). I've gotten used to things not working in these Xara and Magix programs I purchased, so unlike my first couple of posts, the anger and frustration are being left out.
One of my favorite features in AE CS5.5 is the ability to import 3D files created in one of my 3D programs without plugins. Basically, I just import my 3D model into Photoshop and save it as a PSD, then import the PSD file into AE. This is the ONLY way to import 3D files into AE without having to buy plug-ins, etc, since AE doesn't accept the most common 3D file types. However, everything I've read is that Adobe is eliminating this. How Adobe is going to address this problem in CS6?
We have problems importing Avid Mpeg2 IMX files into Adobe After Effects CC. It's a Dell computer with Windows 7 64bits. The importing footage looks like this when imported in After Effects. We have installed AVID QuickTime CODECs Pack PE v2.3.7 but the problem continues.
1) After importing any video to After Effects CS5 , the SOUND is missed as well as import also. The problem arises after import.
2) While moving Current Time Indicator and selection of colours , the preview is not shown although preview is ticked. after selecting colour and clicking ok only the colour is applied. and after placing the time indicator at a any place only it shows, but video is played from preview bar on RHS.
I get Photoshop file format error -30504 45::35 when attempting to import RAW images from 5D mark III. Have tried one images and image sequences. File names such as IMGS1784.CR2
It seems After Effects CS6 suddenly stopped accepting DNG files during import.
Just the day before, I was imported DNG sequences generated by the raw2dng app (Magic Lantern RAW video, shot on a Canon 5D Mk III), but AE suddenly stopped accepting DNGs over night (they are greyed out on import).
After Effects CC will still import DNGs, and opens the ACR window immediately, as it should. I'm running OSX 10.9.2, and all of my Adobe software is fully updated.
I keep getting errors when importing Quicktime files (no matter what the codec is) and when exporting/rendering, (see attached screenshot for error on importing).
Error during rendering (after 10-15 seconds) is:
After Effects error: Rendering error while writing file "xxx". An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted. (-1610153464)
The only solution I found it's to close and restart AE CC. Yesterday I also got a couple of crashes when rendering.
CS6 was working perfectly, error began to appear when I started working on CC.
I have Apple pro apps installed, quicktime is updated. I mainly export in lossless, photo-jpeg or png sequence.
I have a .psd file that was created by someone else for my friends web page. The psd file is the background, logo, and navigational bar for her home page. Each button is a "slice" I think because there are lines around each button on the left side navigational bar (not a true navigational bar just created by buttons) and around the head and body etc. (The lines are blue if that tells you anything - each section is numbered with a little tiny icon that looks a little like the back of an envelope.)
My question - we wanted to change the word on one of the buttons - I did that saved the psd file - no problem. Then I cropped out the button that we had changed. When I saved it to the web (as a jpg) the button looks like a button (a box around it - not a line a raised area that looks like a button.) The other buttons do NOT look like a button (even though the layers are named buttons.)
How can I change it so it looks flat (not button like) like all of the rest of the items on the navigational bar.
easy way to import 2 sets of image sequences into AE and have them side by side, so both sets will be inside 1 frame.Example of what I'm doing is having a phone conversation, instead of switching back and forth between the actors (image sequences) I want to see them both at the same time next to each other.
My designers are rendering images in FormZ (CAD program). Form Z has no way to directly output an interactive PDF where you can see a 360 degree view.
FormZ support and lots of info I googled tell me to run it thru PS Extended 3D. It seems that PS CS6 removed the .u3d export function so it does not seem to work. I've tried to go back to CS5.1 but that brings the CAD file in as a smart object and loses the interactive function.
Is there a path thru for either 5.1 or 6? Bottom line is we have the CAD 3D/360 files. We want an interactive PDF where our customers can get that 360 view.
I am thinking of becoming an artist who uses photoshop but the problem is that my hands get cramped being on the computer too much. I was thinking of creating my own interactive whiteboard like Johnny Lee did with the Wiimote. But I don't know if it will work well i.e. will the IR pens not be enough for me to use because with a keyboard I will have ctrl alt and other function buttons.
cs3 had this option when creating a photomerge that made it so much easier to combine several photos when cs3 got lost in trying to merge.
I looked and looked in cs4 for the interactive command, so much simpler than grabbing the eraser and opacity, but I could not find the interactive addition for photomerge. Has it been moved or what ? IIRC in cs3 it was interactive from bridge..
I am growing increasinly frustrated. I just installed AutoCAD LT 2013 on my laptop. I managed to get everything customized the way I want, except the button icons on my (classic) toolbar are much too small. If I go into the menu and select 'use large icons', they are too huge. My screen resolution DOES NOT need to be changed or adjusted. I went to the help menu to see what I can do, and found that I can go into CUI and adjust the size of the button icons that way, via the button image editor, however there is no 'button image editor' dialog box when I select any given toolbar command.
How to make interactive images using Photoshop. A professor of mine created a poster that had interactive graphics that made movements when rolled over as well as graphics.
I find it really hard to combine the images together because the end result from photo merge does not have the snap in function like the interactive layout. How can I bring back the interactive layout in Photoshop CC? I downloaded the Photometer plugin but error came up saying 'Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document'.
I am pretty new to Adobe Premiere Pro (CS 5.5). Have played with it for a while, but now I want to make some more interavtive videoes, and I have been looking at the two videoes from Adobe covering this issue. My problem is that I don't have Photoshop, only Photoshop Element, and I cannot follow the instructions from adobe, since some of the options they use are not available in Photoshop Elements.
Is it possible to make interactive menus from Photoshop Elements, and if so, is there somewhere I can find an explanation on how to do it?
I've been using Ps CS6 for a couple of months now, and I occasionally used CS5.1 before that. I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with its lack of interactive feedback during many manipulations. A lack of feedback which is provided in applications costing a small fraction of the price. This is 2012, Ps is a leading graphics app in some ways, but in other ways it is pitifully like a relic from the early 1990s.
You have text on a path and you decide to transform that path with Free Transform (Cmd+T). The positions of the text characters don't update while you manipulate the path! You don't see the changes until confirming the transform command.
