View 2 RepliesI'm am trying to import 593 photos directly from my 5D Mark III into Lightroom 4.4 using a USB cable. I received the following error message: "Some import operations were not performed. The following files were not imported because they could not be read (128)." I had previously tried importing the photos prior to the Lightroom 4.4 update. I also did the update to 4.4, restarted the computer and attempted the import again (received same error message). The error message didn't indicate what was causing the problem so I attempted to import the photos to iPhoto and received the message "The following files were not imported as the file type .CR2 cannot be read." All of my software is up to date, computer has been restarted numerous times and I always shoot in RAW. If 465 of the 593 photos were able to be imported to both photo programs, from the same CF memory card, and the file type/format did not change between photo shoots, why would 128 be unreadable?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have made a short film of 6 minutes (in 6 parts on after effects) I have added all the effects and the camera work on AE, but it needs a lot of editing here and there, which I find impossible to do on AE since you can't cut and join scenes like Premier pro. I need to import all these sequences onto premier pro for editing now. The problem is once I import the files, it imports in the right order in systematic folders etc, but it doesn't show any of the camera work or the special effects like gaussian blur etc. All my hard work has gone.
There must be a way you can import the after effects file on premier the way it looks on AE.
Another problem is I read some boards and it has been suggested to edit the clips first on premier and then add effects on AE but I read this really late and I've already composited the whole film on AE. I just need premier for cutting now.
P.S: I also thought about exporting the AE sequences as TGA files but there's ZERO space left in my internal hard disk for that, and it would take forever to export them all anyway. Any other kind of export would reduce the original quality which I dont want, and which I dont have space for anyway, so that option is out as well.
i once exported images (blurred) without any background. I used these in flash afterwards.
I was shown how to do this with chanels or masks but i cant remember the procedure -
again - im looking to save (pict, tiff, ....???) files from photoshop WITHOUT a background colour and keeping opacity (transparent gifs are not good enough).
how do i get rid of the ever prevalent selection ants that mark all the layers. This feature is very distracting and uncalled for.

The message read "the following files were not imported because the could not be read"? I don't understand, they were all on the same card? They show in lightroom when you are selecting which ones to import, they just will not import. I tried it two times My LR4 is updated as well.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi need your opinion regarding a phenomena i am observing in the RAW images from Mark iii.The following images appear to be absolutely correct in the camera and when viewed through a picture viewer.I have tried and tested the following scenarios:
1. Used a medium speed kingston CF Card (new) and transferred the images through the USB cable supplied with the camera.2. Thought the card might be slow OR faulty.. used Sandisk Extreme and Extreme Pro SD Cards but same result.3. Transferred SD Card data through the builit in laptop card reader.4. Have directly imported the images from SD Card into Lightroom 4.3, copied the data firstly to laptop HDD and then imported, copied the SD card data to an external HDD and then copied.same result!!5. Have tried the same with both Win7 and Mac OS.6. The DPP sw that came with the camera gives the error of 'Decoding Failed' with these images.
Usually 10-15 images out of 100 give this kinda pattern.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with the Raw fies that have been adjusted in the Develop Module loosing all of their luster and pop when switching back to Library and exporting. In other words, my adjustments are generally flattened out and colors muted when going from Develop to Library. I see that the Camera Calibration shows only ONE profile option: Matrix. However, the same single option for my 7D is also Matrix but the Raw files appear to hold my adjustments after being made in the Develop module.
I am using LR 2.7 and Camera Raw 5.7.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new Macbook Pro with Retina Display and am running CS6, shooting with a Mark III in full resolution raw format. Focus is on in camera but when I open the images in Photoshop, they do not appear super sharp when zoomed in.
Is this a display issue or a program issue or something else? In the past I can usually get the images so sharp that I can see every pore and hair.
I've discovered I have some video effects, like "Film Express" (which happens to be a NewBlue effect) in VSX2 that I don't have in VSX4. I'd like to use it but don't know how to import it and don't know where to find it, either. how I might move it over?

I have read that the 3d import is no longer available from CS6 onwards so I have downloaded Cinema 4D lite plugin for affer effects. I have managed to get the photoshop 3d object into Cinema 4d as I would expect but now I am struggling to find a way to export that object and import it into After Effects?
I have 2 computers.
On computer 1, I import a MTS file and it has sound. All good.
On Computer 2., iimport the same MTF file and it has no sound.
Both machines have CS6. Windows 7 and as already mentioned, same MTS file ( coming from Panasoic Camcorder)
One of my favorite features in AE CS5.5 is the ability to import 3D files created in one of my 3D programs without plugins. Basically, I just import my 3D model into Photoshop and save it as a PSD, then import the PSD file into AE. This is the ONLY way to import 3D files into AE without having to buy plug-ins, etc, since AE doesn't accept the most common 3D file types. However, everything I've read is that Adobe is eliminating this. How Adobe is going to address this problem in CS6?

After importing a .mov from a canon t3i.
No audio in the preview and even after render. Why??
1) After importing any video to After Effects CS5 , the SOUND is missed as well as import also. The problem arises after import.
2) While moving Current Time Indicator and selection of colours , the preview is not shown although preview is ticked. after selecting colour and clicking ok only the colour is applied. and after placing the time indicator at a any place only it shows, but video is played from preview bar on RHS.
It seems After Effects CS6 suddenly stopped accepting DNG files during import.
Just the day before, I was imported DNG sequences generated by the raw2dng app (Magic Lantern RAW video, shot on a Canon 5D Mk III), but AE suddenly stopped accepting DNGs over night (they are greyed out on import).
After Effects CC will still import DNGs, and opens the ACR window immediately, as it should. I'm running OSX 10.9.2, and all of my Adobe software is fully updated.
I keep getting errors when importing Quicktime files (no matter what the codec is) and when exporting/rendering, (see attached screenshot for error on importing).
Error during rendering (after 10-15 seconds) is:
After Effects error: Rendering error while writing file "xxx". An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted. (-1610153464)
The only solution I found it's to close and restart AE CC. Yesterday I also got a couple of crashes when rendering.
CS6 was working perfectly, error began to appear when I started working on CC.
I have Apple pro apps installed, quicktime is updated. I mainly export in lossless, photo-jpeg or png sequence.
Importing images from specific folders is including images from outside selected folders.

Sometimes however when I try to import a pdf file into CD I get a message saying "file is corrupted" and it usually happens when the sender uses (I think( latest versions of Illustrator.Just a guess though. There is nothing wrong with the file I am trying to import though. Operating system is Windows XP.

Speeding up the process of working from home but importing pictures from the server at work.
I've been bringing the pictures in as raster images from the work Network rather than saving the pictures to my C:drive as I don't want them to disappear, losing the link when others access the drawing from work.
When I do this everything slows down....
...Even saving the drawing back to the Network can take in excess of 40mins...
Is it possible on AutoCAD LT to embed the images but not make the drawing to big to work with?
In an HDV project in CS5 Premirer Pro, I am importing images from a source file into the project window and then onto the timeline. These are separate jpg images, each one with a different filename albeit the first three letters of the filename are the same. When the images are imported, although the filenames are as they appear in the source folder, the actual images are all identical - usually to the first image in the group. It makes no difference whether I import the images separately or as a group - the same problem persists. I have tried clearing the media cache and re-starting the computer. No use.

I'm trying to use the RAW images that I've taken on the camera in Photoshop, so I downloaded the RAW 2.4 plugin from Adobe.com and followed the necessary steps to place it in the correct folder. The RAW plug-in appears in the plug-in about menu, but when I use the file browser (or import menu) to try and import a RAW image from my Canon EOS 20D DSLR, it doesn't see any of them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedA few weeks back my illustrator started resampling all of my high-res images to 72 dpi upon opening.
example:
Image A: Resolution 300, 877 x 591
I'll open that image in Illustrator (which, I've been doing for 8 years without problem) and here is what happens --
I get a bounding box of 877 x 591 - HOWEVER, the image is floating within that box at (what I'm guessing is around a 72 resolution) 213 x 142 pixels.
If I save the file out at 72 dpi - the image pulls up the right size in illustrator - it's just any image file that's a higher res than 72.
I'm running CS5
