Mar 26, 2013Is there a way to layer or merge 2 of the same image together? 1 image already retouched but too small, 2nd image is large but not retouched yet. Do I have to start over??

Aug 25, 2011I did look through the FAQ but couldn't quite find what I was looking for, perhaps because I am not sure of the proper terminology.
I have attached a screen copy of the effect I want to achieve.
Basically I have a picture of a scene/building from the past and I want to merge the two into one picture with the same scenery is shown on the edges and the scene from the past, faded In towards the middle section of the image.
Can this be accomplished with Layers? or Maybe a Collage? or is it something else?

I saw a demonstration of removing people from a scene when multiple pictures were taken and the people had changed their positions. This was touted as a feature found only in PS extended a few years ago. I have never been able to locate it.

I would like to move all the features from B.sdf to A.sdf, however at the least I need to ensure that features moved from B.sdf now has the same number (10)of feature data properties as in A.SDF..Only solution I could come up with is to import A.sdf file into Map3D so that I have a datatable. erase all the features, then B.sdf file and use the attach data to attach the table data to each feature then output to A.sdf using append.
Lightroom :: Can't Merge Raw Files In Photomatix
Jul 19, 2013Why I can't merge raw files in photomatix if I select them and take them into photomatix from lightroom. I can take raw files from bridge and merge them in photomatix. When I try this in Lightroom where I would rather do everything unless I need PS, it makes duplicate files in tif, psd, or jpg depending on how its preferences are set. Also when I select photos and tell it to merge them using photomatix the only option it allows me to select is edit a copy with lightroom adjustments. The other two are grayed out! Then I'm left with an HDR photo that I wanted but just a bunch of useless added files lightroom had to create to do it.
I can select the same raw files but use bridge and it will take the raw files into photomatix and I don't end up with a bunch of files I don't want. But then I have an HDR image that isn't imported into lightroom. Is there a work around or is this just the way it is?

Feb 26, 2013Why cant I save a cdr job with all the merge fields setup so that next time I open the file I can go straight to 'merge to new document'.
So Ive set up a 10 to view raffle tickets job. Inserted 20 numerical merge fields, positioned, resized, applied font size color alignment etc etc etc.. Takes ages..... So then merge to a new document, works nice and I can save it fine.
There are a hundred reasons why i may have to close the 'master' merge file before the job has been successfully printed. It may be a repeat print job.
Any which way I really dont get why the live merge data fields are lost on closing the file.
AutoCad :: Converting 1000's Of Files From Microstation J Drawings With Mail Merge Portion
Nov 9, 2011We are a water utility and have thousands of detail drawings of service taps and hydrant connections (maybe 11,000 total). These are in the old Microstation J format. Each drawing is divided into a top half and bottom half. The bottom half of the drawing is the actual drawing portion.
The top half of the drawing is text that comes out of an Old Oracle database, into Microsoft Word 2000 through mail merge then is copied and pasted into the top portion of the card. Newer drawings done like this and opened in AutoCAD have the top portion identified as an OLE object (embedded object), while the older drawings just look like a drawing in the top.
I'm looking to update the system to ArcGIS and AutoCAD. The data will be moved to a Microsoft Access database (probably later SQL Server), and I want to convert all the old Microstation drawings into an AutoCAD format. ArcGIS will provide the basemap and be linked to the database, with clickable hyperlinks to open the AutoCAD drawings. I would like to be able to keep the bottom drawing half while changing the top half of each drawing to reflect updated data in the database. If this can be automatically updated, that would be awesome.
One is the best program to automatically bulk convert the drawings from Microstation J to AutoCAD (I have 2011). Also, I'm looking for a method to display the text from the database in the top portion of the card using either mail merge with AutoCAD or some automatic method of pulling the info out of the database. Can I just copy-paste this info into AutoCAD as we did with Microstation or is there a better way?

May 31, 2012I have now exactly the same problem as below with over 1000 images, I have saved them in .psd that has over 100 layers each. On top of those there is curves and levels layer that affects every layer below. I want to save all images to .jpg for videoedit with those curves at least. I don't want to merge same curves 100 times. Is there a solution in phothoshop cs5 or cs6 available? Would save alot of working hours. All I have got by this far is blank white images of adjustment layers and non adjusted jpg-files.

And say I created 3 adjustment layers on top of those 100 layers to get the adjustments that i want for those layers. I'm happy with the adjustments but Then I NEED to merge those 3 adjustment layers to ALL those 100 layers.
Is there a way to easily permanently apply the adjustments to each of those layers without having to do it manually? I absolutely need to merge the adjustments to the seperate layers because of how the layers are being used in a seperate 3d program.
So far what I've been doing is duplicating the adjustment layers for each layer and merging them to said layers separately.. I wish I could just right click the adjustment layer and Tell it to merge to everylayer it affects or apply to every layer underneath it!

Photoshop :: Hidden Dot Files Created For Each Picture
May 15, 2012It appears that Photoshop on an osx machine is also creating a ._Pictures Name.jpg file for each jpg in the same folder as the jpg. Is that a Photoshop or osx thing? is there a way to prevent all those extra files from being created?
We put the folders of jpg's on the windows server, then have to go through and manually kill all those ._files before we can use the folder.

Oct 18, 2013I cannot seem to open any picture files in Photoshop CC. It doesn't seem to matter what file type it is..jpg .gif .png no file will open. They open just fine in Illustrator but Photoshop can't seem to find them.
I've tried modifying what program "opens" the file but Photoshop isn't listed. Window Media Player is listed, as is Illustrator but I have to search for Photoshop and when I click on it, it doesn't do anything.

When I tried to delete a picture a message came up to the effect that the file could not be permanently deleted from the disk since it could not be found.
