InDesign :: Multiple Records Data Merge Doesn't Generate Multiple Text Boxes?
Feb 18, 2014Is it possible to do a multiple-records data merge that doesn't generate multiple text boxes? And if so, how?
For publications such as a directory with contact information, it would be easier to manage the layout by merging multiple records into one text box. However, it seems like the only option in InDesign is to merge the records into each of their own text boxes.
Photoshop :: Merge Multiple Images
Aug 29, 2011For my work, I use a microscope that scans a slide to take an image. It takes around 20 photos and creates a single image, but each one is still clearly visible as an individual image within the overall one, due to shadowing etc. and imperfect alignment of the images. Is there a way to correct this across the whole image, at least to remove the shadowing if not the alignment?

Mar 27, 2012I need to make multiple duplications of the same layer. This will solve my problem, however after I get the results I want, if I merge the layers, it reverts to the look as if I only had one single layer again. This will also happen if I do not merge the layers but save it as a PDF to get it ready for print. This results in a very muddy/neutral results. I have tried to simply select the layers and copy as merge, select everything and copy merge into a new document, and flatten/merge the image. None of them worked and reverted the image to the original one layer look.

Jun 8, 2013I have this issue where I have to merge lots of layers in order to finish the job. Thing is that two of them have layer styles added to them. Each one has two different layers styles added to it. If I try to merge the layers, the effect won't stay the same and only one layer style will apply (and not even this one works correctly).

Jun 27, 2012I have a logo for an organization I volunteer for that I guess was originally made in such a way that it consists of a large number of "slices" on top of each other. I don't mean slices in the same meaning as the tool in Illustrator, but rather separate, horizontal objects on top of one another that together form the logo. They are not overlapping but have common anchor points.

How do I merge these slices into one object? I'd like to clean up the logo and the paths are quite hard to modify as it is

Nov 21, 2013In my (large) Lightroom 5.2 (Windows) library I have three instances of, essentially, the same network share (a Drobo NAS) which appear separately in the library.
One appears as Share (\nas) L:, one as \nasShare and one as \nasshare. The contents of the share are spread randomly across the three - so one might contain the folders seriesevent1, seriesevent4 and seriesevent5 and another seriesevent2, seriesevent3 and seriesevent6.
Is there an easy way to convince Lightroom that they're all the same physical location and merge them in the library? No amount of dragging, dropping, importing or synchronization seems to have had any effect so far!

1) I am going to consistently need to merge into a document that I will also set up with mulitple records with the same margins, spacing, etc. Is there a way to 'save' templates so I don't have to start over each time I create a multiple record layout??
2) If I want to merge in a single document, but have the same column 'name' laid out various time, do I keep inserting 'name' from the data source? How will it know to proceed to the next one on the list and not repeat the same one over and over?

I saw a demonstration of removing people from a scene when multiple pictures were taken and the people had changed their positions. This was touted as a feature found only in PS extended a few years ago. I have never been able to locate it.

I would like to move all the features from B.sdf to A.sdf, however at the least I need to ensure that features moved from B.sdf now has the same number (10)of feature data properties as in A.SDF..Only solution I could come up with is to import A.sdf file into Map3D so that I have a datatable. erase all the features, then B.sdf file and use the attach data to attach the table data to each feature then output to A.sdf using append.
Lightroom :: Can't Merge Raw Files In Photomatix
Jul 19, 2013Why I can't merge raw files in photomatix if I select them and take them into photomatix from lightroom. I can take raw files from bridge and merge them in photomatix. When I try this in Lightroom where I would rather do everything unless I need PS, it makes duplicate files in tif, psd, or jpg depending on how its preferences are set. Also when I select photos and tell it to merge them using photomatix the only option it allows me to select is edit a copy with lightroom adjustments. The other two are grayed out! Then I'm left with an HDR photo that I wanted but just a bunch of useless added files lightroom had to create to do it.
I can select the same raw files but use bridge and it will take the raw files into photomatix and I don't end up with a bunch of files I don't want. But then I have an HDR image that isn't imported into lightroom. Is there a work around or is this just the way it is?

2002 lt has no general publish (only publish to web) option and how sheet sets work.

Feb 26, 2013Why cant I save a cdr job with all the merge fields setup so that next time I open the file I can go straight to 'merge to new document'.
So Ive set up a 10 to view raffle tickets job. Inserted 20 numerical merge fields, positioned, resized, applied font size color alignment etc etc etc.. Takes ages..... So then merge to a new document, works nice and I can save it fine.
There are a hundred reasons why i may have to close the 'master' merge file before the job has been successfully printed. It may be a repeat print job.
Any which way I really dont get why the live merge data fields are lost on closing the file.
AutoCad :: Converting 1000's Of Files From Microstation J Drawings With Mail Merge Portion
Nov 9, 2011We are a water utility and have thousands of detail drawings of service taps and hydrant connections (maybe 11,000 total). These are in the old Microstation J format. Each drawing is divided into a top half and bottom half. The bottom half of the drawing is the actual drawing portion.
The top half of the drawing is text that comes out of an Old Oracle database, into Microsoft Word 2000 through mail merge then is copied and pasted into the top portion of the card. Newer drawings done like this and opened in AutoCAD have the top portion identified as an OLE object (embedded object), while the older drawings just look like a drawing in the top.
I'm looking to update the system to ArcGIS and AutoCAD. The data will be moved to a Microsoft Access database (probably later SQL Server), and I want to convert all the old Microstation drawings into an AutoCAD format. ArcGIS will provide the basemap and be linked to the database, with clickable hyperlinks to open the AutoCAD drawings. I would like to be able to keep the bottom drawing half while changing the top half of each drawing to reflect updated data in the database. If this can be automatically updated, that would be awesome.
One is the best program to automatically bulk convert the drawings from Microstation J to AutoCAD (I have 2011). Also, I'm looking for a method to display the text from the database in the top portion of the card using either mail merge with AutoCAD or some automatic method of pulling the info out of the database. Can I just copy-paste this info into AutoCAD as we did with Microstation or is there a better way?

May 31, 2012I have now exactly the same problem as below with over 1000 images, I have saved them in .psd that has over 100 layers each. On top of those there is curves and levels layer that affects every layer below. I want to save all images to .jpg for videoedit with those curves at least. I don't want to merge same curves 100 times. Is there a solution in phothoshop cs5 or cs6 available? Would save alot of working hours. All I have got by this far is blank white images of adjustment layers and non adjusted jpg-files.

And say I created 3 adjustment layers on top of those 100 layers to get the adjustments that i want for those layers. I'm happy with the adjustments but Then I NEED to merge those 3 adjustment layers to ALL those 100 layers.
Is there a way to easily permanently apply the adjustments to each of those layers without having to do it manually? I absolutely need to merge the adjustments to the seperate layers because of how the layers are being used in a seperate 3d program.
So far what I've been doing is duplicating the adjustment layers for each layer and merging them to said layers separately.. I wish I could just right click the adjustment layer and Tell it to merge to everylayer it affects or apply to every layer underneath it!
