View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to do a multiple-records data merge that doesn't generate multiple text boxes? And if so, how?
For publications such as a directory with contact information, it would be easier to manage the layout by merging multiple records into one text box. However, it seems like the only option in InDesign is to merge the records into each of their own text boxes.
I am trying to combine a .CTB file from one of our consultants with ours without overwriting each others colors, pen weights and styles. How can i do that? we both have our own CTB file and we both use about the same colors and thicknesses but for different items (i.e. our consultants red is a thick line used for exterior walls, and our red is used for light lines beyond).
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs more and more clients, subs, etc., etc are requesting pdf's more and more often, the issue of "lines merge" vs. "lines overwrite" (and therefore, pdf "flattening" when printing a pdf) is becoming more of a topic of discussion in our office.
I know we're not the only office making pdf's that have to be "flattened" (thereby taking a huge amount more of time to print) when sending to a printer.... but not *all* pdf's we receive need to be flattened so there are some offices that don't have to deal with this issue.
The question is this:
If you use lines merge = on in your autocad, do you have a way to get pdfs that don't need to be flattened? (printing to dwf then pdf is not a reliable option either, as that does not consistantly honor the lines merge feature between dwf/pdf either)
If you don't use lines merge then how do you set up your drawings to allow for easy draworder handling? (and do you use solid hatching patterns in your drawings, which we rely on alot)
I am trying to batch plot to PDF's from a drawing file that has multiple tabs in it. I would like each tab to be a separate PDF file. We are utilizing Acrobat X to write the PDF's. AutoCAD places all of the tabs into one file whether I tell a Multi-sheet file or a Single-sheet file.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor my work, I use a microscope that scans a slide to take an image. It takes around 20 photos and creates a single image, but each one is still clearly visible as an individual image within the overall one, due to shadowing etc. and imperfect alignment of the images. Is there a way to correct this across the whole image, at least to remove the shadowing if not the alignment?

But now that 2012 is over I don't need that granularity anymore and I want to consolited multiple folders into one folder.
I tried selecting a group of folders and right clicking but I haven't found any option for merging folder.
The layer merge command is not working in one particular drawing. But fine in others and new files using the acad.dwt file.Is there a setting that effects the command.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a logo for an organization I volunteer for that I guess was originally made in such a way that it consists of a large number of "slices" on top of each other. I don't mean slices in the same meaning as the tool in Illustrator, but rather separate, horizontal objects on top of one another that together form the logo. They are not overlapping but have common anchor points.
Here is a crop of the logo file: [URL]....
How do I merge these slices into one object? I'd like to clean up the logo and the paths are quite hard to modify as it is
I need to make multiple duplications of the same layer. This will solve my problem, however after I get the results I want, if I merge the layers, it reverts to the look as if I only had one single layer again. This will also happen if I do not merge the layers but save it as a PDF to get it ready for print. This results in a very muddy/neutral results. I have tried to simply select the layers and copy as merge, select everything and copy merge into a new document, and flatten/merge the image. None of them worked and reverted the image to the original one layer look.
View 8 Replies View Related__Is there a way to 'merge' multiple curves into a single curve?
By this I mean I have file with 2-12 curve layers - I wanted to 'merge' the curves so that I can end up with a single curve with the attributes of many. Maybe is there a script that would do this?
I am putting together a form for a soccer team, where I have a number of players with their info put into a nice table for scouting college coaches to have at their fingertips. It would be nice to automate this, but I don't see how to merge say 8 players' info onto one page. Any thoughts?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn my (large) Lightroom 5.2 (Windows) library I have three instances of, essentially, the same network share (a Drobo NAS) which appear separately in the library.
One appears as Share (\nas) L:, one as \nasShare and one as \nasshare. The contents of the share are spread randomly across the three - so one might contain the folders seriesevent1, seriesevent4 and seriesevent5 and another seriesevent2, seriesevent3 and seriesevent6.
Is there an easy way to convince Lightroom that they're all the same physical location and merge them in the library? No amount of dragging, dropping, importing or synchronization seems to have had any effect so far!
I am having an issue with saving the merge control variable to "Lines Merge" under the Sheet Set Publish Options. I have full rights to the sheet set file, and can change the variable to make a plot, but it gets reset everytime I close program and reopen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this issue where I have to merge lots of layers in order to finish the job. Thing is that two of them have layer styles added to them. Each one has two different layers styles added to it. If I try to merge the layers, the effect won't stay the same and only one layer style will apply (and not even this one works correctly).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two questions about data merging....
1) I am going to consistently need to merge into a document that I will also set up with mulitple records with the same margins, spacing, etc. Is there a way to 'save' templates so I don't have to start over each time I create a multiple record layout??
2) If I want to merge in a single document, but have the same column 'name' laid out various time, do I keep inserting 'name' from the data source? How will it know to proceed to the next one on the list and not repeat the same one over and over?
I recently created an illustration where I need muliple colors on 1 document. I did a command + a to select all, then I went to object->live paint->make. After I added my colors I tried to change the opacity on a few of them, but the opacity for the entire document changes. Is there a way to get around this.....or do it right?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy cant I save a cdr job with all the merge fields setup so that next time I open the file I can go straight to 'merge to new document'.
So Ive set up a 10 to view raffle tickets job. Inserted 20 numerical merge fields, positioned, resized, applied font size color alignment etc etc etc.. Takes ages..... So then merge to a new document, works nice and I can save it fine.
There are a hundred reasons why i may have to close the 'master' merge file before the job has been successfully printed. It may be a repeat print job.
Any which way I really dont get why the live merge data fields are lost on closing the file.
I am exporting a design for 3D printing, and it includes multiple objects. If I save each part as a separate STL file, and assemble them in my 3D printer software (Object), the alignment of different parts is lost.
If I save it as a single STL file all the objects are grouped, and I cannot select them individually to assign them different properties.
I am using Autocad 2012 student version, and it does not allow me to select any option at the moment of exporting the files.
I have 100 .dwg files that I need to convert to .pdf file type. For obvious reasons, I do not want to do this one by one.Is there a way to do this, using only AutoCAD 2010?
Simply saying to 'batch plot', use 'publish' or 'change a setting' does not work. I would like to know, step by step, exactly how to do it. If there is not a way to do this, or the way to do it is extremely complex, any Autodesk program that does it or a free program.
I'm trying to print / plot a drawing which has a mixture of 2D plans and 2 3D views. I have the drawing set-up with viewports in paperspace. The objects in one of the 3D views prints perfectly, yet some of the linework from the second 3D view won't print.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to select multiple multileaders and change the text to the same thing in all of them? (Like a block with attributes, where you can simply change the attribute in the properties box).
This would save so much time instead of going to each one of them, double click, edit text, "tab", "enter"...
I would like to create a pull-down menu so that everyone can select a specific client and have all of the client specific settings be automatically set up like template file location, client block libraries, etc.
We have a lot of users with varying amounts of experience and have had trouble with people using the wrong templates, blocks, etc. Is there a list of key-in commands where I can find what I need to add into the .cuix file? Is there an easier way to set up client standards without forcing users to use a specific workspace?
