I want to crop a square section from an image, using the rectangle tool, under options i choose square but then it blacks out the section of the image and is not movable, in PSP7 when doing a similar action, this square part of image is movable, how can i make this the same in photoshop?
Or is there a different action that i can use?
I want to cut out a section of an image and drop it onto a white background in another image.
I drew a vector point to point line around the area I wanted to copy and chose "selection from vector object" thinking that this would select the region inside the vector object. I then tried "copy merged" from the menu and pasted the clipboard into the new image. Now this didn't work and the copy only seems to copy the what is under the selection line rather than what is enclosed.
I made a big image with the intention of cutting it into sections the size of A4 so I could print and put back together after wards. Could someone help me in cutting the image into equal 28cm x 20cm sections. The whole image is 114.794cm x 800cm.

I am cutting a dormer in a roof with a square rafter cut. I want the dormer to be plumb cut. Is there any way to do this? The property seems to be set for the entire roof.

I have gone into Drawing Utilities and set the units to millimeters. I drew a square 125 units on a side.
In paper space, I selected a template that is 11" X 17". I set the scale to 1:1. I thought that that would give me a sheet I could print out ledger size with a 125mm square drawn on it, but no, it is not even close. As near as I can figure, the square is 125" on a side in paper space.
I have downloaded an eps file, which I need to cut. I use a graphtec ce5000-60 cutter, and a plugin called cutting master 2 in order to use coreldraw.
when i select application launcher and choose cut / plot, it opens cutting master. when i do this, it only shows the 2 outer lines of the logo i need to cut. I have attached a screenshot so you can see exactly what I mean. I have tried lots of things to recitfy this, but as a complete beginner with this software, I really dont have a clue.
I am making a video in Nero Vision 10 and need to cut out the screen of a tv so that I can layer the TV over an image/video so it looks as though it is on the screen. I enclose a screenshot of the project. 'Transform-tools-crop' only cuts in straight lines so I wonder which device I should use which can cut out an odd bespoke shape? You can see in the uploaded image from the project how the image currently cannot fill the frame without covering it.

So i was thinking if someone have any tip or in another way , maybe someone wanna cut the image out for me i am a bit shaky on my hand when i use the lasso-tool so its hard to get it good even if i zoom, and besides that ,is the cut-job ,well its important,

I raise chinchillas and would like to cut out some images and just change the background on others. Being that it is a fur animal (samples below) and it has all different lengths and curves....how would I do this? I'm new to photoshop other than playing with curves and stuff to make them nicer photography.

When trying to cut out an object on a digital photo and deleting the background I can't seem to delete the background. These are the steps I take.
1) Pen tool to cut out the object.
2) Make selection
3) Invert selection Ctrl+Alt+I
4) Delete Ctrl+D
It is step 4 that does not work, as the background does not delete.
I'm having trouble cutting out a image so i can add to a background. I've tried the magic lasso tool.with no luck also i've tried the wand with no luck.should be a simple thing to do but just can't catch on.

second, background image
on top(third), band logo
I would like to cut the background out of the band logo(or whatever I don't need) and be able to use the logo by itself and place it on the background image(2nd). What is the tool to do this with Elemets 5.0? I have not been able to find it.
I've created an image, and over top I've layered an image of a blood splatter.
The Blood Splatter layer is backdropped by white.
I would like to cut out the white layer, but I can't figure out how to do it with a clean cut.
How can I get rid of the white without the magic wand tool, or painstakingly using the eraser?
i was working in Photoshop CS5, and all of a sudden my file appeared as above.
I am working on a multiple layered file and sections just instantly became removed from each of the layers in different spots.
I tried restarting photoshop but its still the same.
I'm a photoshop noob but am learning fast. I'm having a bit of trouble doing something that I imagine to most of you is quite straight forward.
Basically, I have a square image (3000px x 3000px) and I want to cut out an exact circle from the centre of the picture. So I choose the Ellipitcal marquee tool and place my cursor approximately in centre of the picture, hold down SHIFT and ALT and drag to the desired circle size. Next I press V to bring up the alignment toolbar hoping that I could centre the selection to the exact middle of the picture but I can't. PS won't allow me to select any of the alignment buttons.
After this I want to take the CUT image and paste as a new image so that I have a just the circle and it's contents and no rectangular background. I'm sure PASTE will do this but I can't get this far.
I have been wondering how do I isolate the main part of the image to be able to cut it? I know I can obviosly lasso it..but is there a shortcut? or an action that could be used?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow I can cut a circle from a square image so that the circle is cut from the exact middle of the square? I use the Elliptical Marquee Tool (M) and drag outwards from the approximate middle of the square (Holding Shift and ALT) but after doing so the transform buttons are greyed out.
So then, how can I position the "circle selection" to the exact center of the square? A few pixels out in any direction will not suffice. I'm using CS6.
Every time I create a new document, no matter what dimensions I put, it always makes it a square. Just tonight it has. I've been using the program for almost a year now and haven't had this issue at all.
I don't think I messed with any settings or anything. I read somewhere that it might have to do with the Pixel Aspect Ratio or something, but I've been trying different things with that and it hasn't worked. I'm on Mac OS X 10.8.2 Mountain Lion running Photoshop CS5.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a .gif image (actually an animated gif) that is currently square, but I've been desperately trying to destructively trim it to a perfect circle to use in a flash animation.
I don't want to use a mask or have the white corners showing where I've trimmed in in GraphicConverter as a circle, unless there a way to make the excess outside of the circle trim transparent, since the backgound image is complex (I cant simply collor the background outside a normal circular trip) and only has a circular "frame" to place this image.
I simply want to take an image (which has a complex logo in it and trim the resulting image to a perfect circle.
I know I have done this before but can't fiqure out how I did it ..

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a jpg image that has a table of contents on it. I want to slice it horizontally by each topic (8 topics) so I can export the eight new images. Eventually I will be inserting the images into Word, and will hyperlink each topic slice to a page in the document. The Word document will then be converted to an eBook. So far I've only been able to slice the image by overlaying a rectangle on the TOC image and using; Combine shapes/subtract command or crop the original image 8 times. There must be a simpler way. Ideally I'd like to just cut the one image with 7 horizontal slices, so I can easily piece it back together in Word. I looked at the image slicing function but couldn't figure out how to have multiple names on one image. I have GD 7.

I have a sketch of the damage on the chute block. I created the chute block as a solid and then drew the damaged area extents using plines. This created non-planar plines. Is there a way to get this to work that will allow me to see the volume of the concrete damage? I need an easy way to do this, there are 50 chute blocks all the same size but with varying degrees of damage

I'm using Xfrog trees (first time, and quite new to 3ds max design 2011).
The leaves are images laid onto planes. The leaf has a white background and is precreated to be transparent etc.....
In theory i should be able to import the tree, render and everything should work. it's not working. The tree renders with the white background to the leaves
Is there a setting i'm missing, maybe in the render setup?
