View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to crop an image using photoshop the crop tool will only allow a square image, it will not let me have one side longer than the other. I've tried to just use the tool once the box is highlighted to adjust the position of one or more sides but it will only allow me to do this at the corners, once again resulting in a square even though it is a rectangle I want.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI only have Photoshop CS5 and would like to edit video footage I have of my college fashion show, my portion of which is about 3-4 minutes long. One video I have is taken by a hand held camera and I would like to somehow blur or crop out the distracting audience, which I know will be difficult because the camera is a little unsteady.
My other footage is from the official DVD and is taken straight on from a steady camera. I want to splice the two videos together so you can see all angles of my designs. I think I will need to overlay a new soundtrack (just a song in my library) as well. How much of this is possible in Photoshop, and for an advanced Photoshop user but a complete novice at anything video related, how difficult will this be to acheive? How time intensive? Before I delve into researching tutorials and online resources, I really would like to know if it's even a feasible project.
I'm just wondering whether there is a way to crop an image in PS in a different shape other than the default square. Like circle crop or pentagon.

(ie: I want to mark an oblong).
I'm trying to crop a rectangle that is slightly off square, so the cropping rectangle is either clipping part of the image or not enough of the empty space. Is there a way to clip a non-rectangular area?
The images are actually parts of a map as a specific projection, and need to be clipped non-rectangular so they match up.
how do i use the crop tool to make a square that i can move around the image to crop?

But the issue is when you select the crop tool and enter a custom constraint and crop
The image size is sometimes a full 2 inches off of what you set as a crop?! I havn't run into this before
[I do know you can use the drop down box and use {size and resolution} but I want to know why it doesnt work under custom and unconstrained]
Photoshop Crop won't complete when trying to crop an image. This just started a couple of days ago and I can't figure out what's going on with it. This happens in Photoshop CS6 and CC
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create an oval image for a button on a webpage. I make the canvas size about 90x40 and then select the ellipse tool and fill the canvas with it. I then bucket fill the circle/oval with a green color. How do I knock the rest of the white corners out of the image? I only want to green oval to be the final jpg.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Round Image that i want to print, however when i go to print, its too large so i fit to page, but when i do this the image goes a oval shape.
I want to keep the image as large as possible so i don't want to print on a smaller scale .
when I select the crop tool, my image disappears during the entire crop process. I can only see the image in the preview pane. Why is this happening? I am using the most current version of Lightroom, and I am on a PC.
View 1 Replies View Relatedtrying put create text (or text saved as an image) in a distorted arch shape over top of an oval shaped image.
want text start as larger contract towards the middle and expand to the end.
all text flat on top and the curving would be along the bottom (to go over the oval shaped image).
[might also eventually want to make something similar (shape upside down of this one) to go along bottom of oval image.]
text would be in this bridge shape below:

is there anyway that the blur can be taken out of this image?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't remember how to take a picture and use a tool (such as the eliptical tool) - make a circle around my image and then blur the edges of the image with a transparent background.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have some random curves (already created) and I want to blur them just from one side to have the same blur distance and effect one the whole curve.
To more precisely describe what I need, I need to create gradient with direction of normal for every "point". The best example I have found so far are borders in Civilization IV game. Here are two examples:

As you can see, there is a solid curve, which gradually blends (i.e. alpha channel is lowered) till the gradient disappears. I have the solid curve and the question is, what would be the simplest way how to do this (the number of curves is around 100) gradient.
How I can achieve the blur effect on this image - Also the transparent sort effect too.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI take photographs that need the top and bottom center point pulled in to straighten out for image distortion (looks like a bow tie when I'm done). I'm aware that it will interpolate if I expand the image so I have always contracted rather than pull the four corners out beyond the canvas edges. There is a noticeable blur or softening of the image that happens. Does anyone know of a way to cure or minimize this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to blur a portion of an image in gradient-like fashion to give the impression of an unfocussed lens? Can you do it with a transparent layer mask?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to blur just one edge of an image in my site header, so it fades into the white background rather than retaining a sharp edge. I could finally get the effect (using an alpha channel and Refine Edge) but couldn't get it to stick when saving.
I read that JPGs can't accommodate alpha channels but even a tif didn't work.
I tried different functions like Refine Edge, feather, etc - all to no avail. I was working in PSD.
how to accomplish this effect with the car in full focus and the background motion blurred?
I can't seem to make it look natural when I try to select the car and apply the motion blur to just the background.
when i use text over a blurred image...the text color is not proper...i mean..i am using black as text color but the color i see on the monitor is gray....why's that..?? and is there any way so that i can have the original text color i want.... and.. i am making a webpage for 800X600 pixels monitor....what canvas size should i work on.?? and will it look bad on a 1024x768 pixel monitor.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got PSE CS6 and the blur too will NOT work ....blur filters work, but not BLUR in the tools panel I have tried: unintstall/reinstall, updating, using it no a picture straight after opening it, duplicate layers, selecting an area and then blurring....flattening an image, every single different setting in the the blur tools menu bar NOTHING works.
