Illustrator :: When Downloading As PDF Entire Page Turns Blue
Feb 1, 2014I've completed my flyer and everything looks great in Illustrator, however when I save the document as a PDF the entire thing turns a dark shade of blue. It almost looks as though the whole page as been highlighted. This only happens when it's opened as a PDF and not in Illustrator.

Oct 24, 2013I have two documents, both with 300 DPI. The first is a 4x5 image and the second is an 11x17 page. I am trying to drag the entire 4x5 image (it's composed of several layers) onto the 11x17 page and keep it the same size. However, when I drag and drop, the 4x5 image is enlarged to fill the full width of the 11x17 page. This happens even if I hit shift. I recently upgraded from PSE10 where I did this regularly and can't figure out how to do it in PSE12. I have an iMac with OS 10.8.5.

I have a PNG-to-SWFutility, but when I used it on the PNG saved after I opened my PDF andexported from GIMP, the end result was not good enough. A co-worker saidGIMP couldn't make a PNG (w/transparency) with enough quality. He said we'dhave to use some other software. Part of the issue was not being able toresize without losing quality before the PNG export. True or false?

May 7, 2004Alright, so I'm a photoshop intermediate who's really used this fine program for making web images and a few other things. Now, I've gotten into print advertising at work (yeah, get me to do it rather than outsource it and then pay me a lot less for the effort.
My issue is that I can make ads in B&W or 4C, no problem. This issue comes when I want to do a 2 color ad using a specific color. In my naivety, I presumed using 2 colors in Photoshop and outputting to a CMYK TIFF would be sufficient. The printer has informed me otherwise.

Illustrator :: How To Convert Text To Include The Stroke As One Entire Object
Dec 7, 2013Hard to describe in a title, but here goes...
Let's say I have some text (black) with a black stroke on it. (It creates the look I want, without using BOLD.)
How can I convert this text to include the stroke as one entire object? No stroke, just one entire vector shape?
(I notice if you import text this way into Flash, convert to a symbol and fade up from zero opacity, you see the fill as a different value than the stroke value - very annoying.)
Is there a Pathfinder command that I can use to fix this text?

Jul 28, 2011I'm running Windows 7 64Bit running Adobe CS5 Master Collection. But ever since I allowed CS5 Photoshop to control my printer (HP Photosmart Prem 310-C) to do a test print of a graphic that I created all of my Blues print a violet/blue color, no matter what color blue. It has even affected MS Word & MS Project when I try to print blue colored font or Gantt Chart blues will no longer print blue, but will print the same blue/violet color. I've even tried a brilliant blue which will all view great, but prints the same shade of violet blue! All my colors and Blues will view great! I've calibrated my monitor and I've reset my printer several times and still the same thing! I never had this problem before I downloaded Adobe CS5! A strange thing is that I can run check printer test and the data & image that is stored in the printer will print blues perfect, including running a copy direct from the scanner bed and it will produce perfect blues. I almost feel as though Adobe CS5 has possessed my PC and printer, how do I get it back to printing like it did before installing CS5 Master Suite?

Jun 17, 2006if there was a way to create a brush that half was the foreground color and half was the background color...
for example, I have a mountian brush. and the shadow of the mountian is black, as is the outline, but alot on the inside is white. Since its white, when i use the brush, if they overlap, you can see through the mountian... not exactly what i was going for. So, any way to use 2 colors? or make the brush sold without making it all back? I tried a shade of grey, but that just creates an lighter opacity of the forground color, and the FG/BG jitter just chages the color of what was originally black.

See all images below and my results. the only thing I'm not happy with is the young man was better lit than the group one. I was playing around with the controls of the young man to bring his tone more in line with the group (hue; saturation; color levels; etc.) and I just could not figure it out.
what I can do to get the young man to match up tone wise with the group? Or vice versa, even?
Photoshop :: CS5 / Saturation Changes After Tone-mapping?
Jul 31, 2012For quite a while I have been using the Photoshop HDR for initial processing of my HDR shots. My workflow is to "open in HDR Pro in Photoshop" from Lightroom. With LR 3.x and CS5 there was no problem - make the initial tonemapping settings in CS5, hit "OK", and save the resultant TIF back to lightroom for further processing.
With LR 4.1 I do the same thing, the files import into CS6 and the tonemapping window comes up, but after I hit OK in the tonemapping window, the resultant tonemapped TIF file is oversaturated(This still in CS6). It needs about 30 points of saturation reduction in LR to get it back to what it showed in the tonemapping window.
I have colour gamut set for Pro Photo RGB in both LR and PS. I can show some screen captures later.
Photoshop :: Possible To Do Auto-tone Manually
Nov 4, 2012While editing two very similar photos and using the CS6 auto-tone command, one of the photos photoshop was able to truly fix up while the other barely changed. Here is the example:
Photo A was very blue and dark; the auto-tone command magically fixed it up to have nice color variation in the rock and made it brighter. Here is the before/after:
On the other hand, photo B didn't work out the same way; the auto-tone command barely did anything, even though I thought both photos looked to have very similar problems (blue, dark, etc).Here are the links to the full original photo A and photo B in case they are useful...
how can I achieve on photo B the same effect that auto-tone did for photo A! Is there any way to find out what adjustments auto-tone made?
